Well, some of the prejudices against female cops is actually more of a departmental. I can, however, get you some information so you can get into it. Look up any official records on the Pinkerton Agency and Kate Warne. She was the first female detective and responsible for Lincoln's protection during the time he traveled to DC to be sworn in after discovering a plot to assassinate him before he could take charge. I can give you a few more given a specific time period.

And "unreal" schools? Could you give me a more specific example? Because there are specialized schools for the blind to help them learn life skills to be independent, but if you mean they belong in hospitals, no they don't unless there is an issue that isn't related to being blind.

They were lying to you. You're more likely passed over for the police for being blind. A lot of it depends on seeing things, though I'm sure if you can prove other skills useful in investigation, you can be a special officer.

A few states have had female plain clothes police officers for a while now. Like, for you, it's been over a decade since the first one in the actual police, instead of an agency like Pinkerton.

As for your teacher, you had already pretty much learned what you needed, but I think in your time, it's a lot easier for you to get a job with a diploma from a well established school for the blind. To a lot of really ignorant folks, you'd still be an invalid.
