This meme deals with three types of love: angsty, sweet and twisted! Please note that there are triggers abound!

I. BAD ROMANCE

01. IT'S TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE. You had a fight and now your lover isn't sure they want to even hear your apologies.
02. HURT/COMFORT. You or your lover is in pain, physically or mentally, and needs to be comforted.
03. SECOND BEST. No matter what your lover says, you feel like they're only settling for you like a second choice.
04. CHEATED. You've seen all the signs; lipstick on the collar, scratches down the back, hickeys you didn't leave behind. Do you want to keep ignoring it or finally confront them?
05. KEEP ME FROM FALLING. Your lover is being discouraged from seeking any sort of relationship with you and it's definitely a strain.
06. BUT HOW DO I KNOW... You love your partner so much, but you're uncertain just how they feel about you.

16. FALLING APART. Your life with your lover is falling apart due to outside circumstances and all you can do is try to hold on together.
17. SECRET LOVER. You and your lover have to keep your relationship a secret, but unfortunately, you've been found out by someone who disapproves. How will you deal?
18. GOING TO MAKE YOU HURT. You know you're no good for your lover and in the end, you're going to make them hurt.
19. KEEP YOU SAFE. Your lover has been hurt in an intimate way by someone else and all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.

III. HOW CAN I EXIST WITHOUT YOU?

01. YOU WOULDN'T WANT ME TO HAVE TO HURT YOU TOO... The object of your love/lust is resisting your advances, so it's time to take what you want.
02. JEALOUSY. It's jealousy to the extreme. You're going to make damn sure your lover knows how you feel about them seeing other people.
03. INCEST IS BEST. You know it's wrong, all kinds of sinful, but you can't resist the draw. If characters aren't related, then they are now! Or at least it feels very close to incest anyway.
04. YOU'RE NEVER GONNA GET FAR. You love that person so much, you've made sure they can't get away - by physically tying them down or by some other emotional or mental means.
05. I'LL MAKE YOU HURT. You've set it up to make sure your lover catches you cheating or doing something else hurtful just for that reason. You want to make them suffer.
06. CHAINS AND WHIPS EXCITE ME. You're both taking sex to extremes.
07. BROKEN. Your lover has utterly broken you and you need them to know.
08. SECRECY. You're embarrassed by your lover, utterly embarrassed. If they weren't useful in some way (even if it's just in bed!), you wouldn't even be with them.
09. YOU'RE MY LAST CHOICE. You don't really love the person you're with, but they're all you could snatch up and it's no secret to either of you.
10. FORCED TOGETHER. You don' love each other, but you have no choice but to be together due to outside influences. Alternatively, you've been captured and are now being forced to make a sex video even if you don't want to.
11. WATCH HOW I DO IT. You were just forced to watch your lover have sex with someone else (willingly or not) or beaten and now you've got to deal with the aftermath.
12. IF YOU ONLY KNEW. You're not who your lover thinks or you've got a lot of deep dark secrets that, if they only knew, they'd hate you forever.
13. NOT WHO I WAS. Maybe your lover was replaced with a pod person or they're under brainwash or something, but you know they're not who they were.
14. LOVE POTION XXX. You couldn't resist it anymore. You needed your lover, so you've drugged them into loving and wanting you too.
15. THREATS. This person isn't with you willingly. They're only putting up with you because you've threatened them into doing so.
16. FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT.
17. NOT GOING TO SAVE YOU. Your lover is on the brink and you're just going to watch them fall. You don't care anymore.
18. HATE YOU. You need your lover to know how exactly much you hate them. You can't even touch them without your skin crawling.
19. BETRAYAL. You've betrayed your lover in some huge way and you don't care that they've found out.

[He glances at it briefly, flexing it experimentally. It was starting to swell.]

I'll get some ice for it.

[Cautiously, because he doesn't want to invoke her wrath on him again, he reaches out to take her chin (being extremely gentle), and tilts her head to look at where he'd pinned her with his arm.]

What about you?

[Natasha only stiffens slightly when he grabs her chin, but after a moment, she unwinds.]

I'm fine.

[At least she doesn't punch him again.]

[He notes the tension, and quickly pulls his hand away. Clint pushes himself up, and puts a step or two of distance between them.]

Think I'll go hit the showers.

[Punches he can take, it's not knowing what the hell is going on with her that's got her so pissed at him that's causing an issue.]

Hold on.

[She reaches out, catching his hand before he can get too far out of her reach.]

...I'm not mad at you.

[He's about to turn back, a witty retort on his lips, but when her hand catches his, it dies before it leaves his mouth. Clint kind of stares at her hand a moment before looking at her, and loosely gripping hers as she speaks.]

Could have fooled me.

I shouldn't have taken it out on you.

[Which is as close to an apology as he's probably going to get from her right now.

She's definitely not letting go of his hand, though.]

[While he knows she can be fast and deadly, he also knows how rare it is for her to admit something like that, and he'd be stupid if he tried to leave right then.

He closes the distance between them again, and sits next to her, letting her keep holding onto his hand.]

It happens.

[Natasha is almost visibly relieved when Clint sits beside her. She really had expected him to just...walk out of the room. She wouldn't have even blamed him if he did.]

I don't...do the talking part.

[She can't quite look at him when she speaks, just shrugging a little. Her form of communication was...well, what they'd just done.]

I know. [He does, but he still offers, because you never know. Sometimes, though the instances were few in number, she did need to say something, or have the silent proximity of someone that wasn't going to try and analyze every little thing she thought or decided.]

What do you need? [It isn't harsh or demanding. It's soft. It's--something that only happens with her. To everyone else he's cold and impassive with a sort of biting dry humor, piercing eyes going right through them like one of his arrows. With the team, he's opened up more, but not when it comes to this here, now.

Here, he sees her. Here, he sees why he couldn't take the shot. Why he made a different call.]

I just...

[She shakes her head, sighing.]

Just stay here for a little while.

[Natasha just wants him beside her, around her, without the talking or the brawling. Right now, she's kind of okay with just...sitting.

With Clint, she doesn't need as many boundaries or deflections -- which isn't to say she doesn't still have more than her fair share, but she...she trusts him.

It's probably as close to love as Natasha will ever let herself get.]

[He rubs his thumb along the back of her hand in his, nodding.]

I can do that.

[Natasha glances at him out of the corner of her eye, the corner of her mouth lifting, just slightly.]

Are you sure you don't have to go get that ice?

[He smiles.]

I'll survive a little while longer.

[Natasha's smile is a little warmer, her fingers lacing with Clint's properly. She really can't express how grateful she is that Clint will just...sit here, with her, and not demand she talk about things. It makes things easier.

She sits with Clint for almost ten minutes before pulling her hand away from him reluctantly, getting to her feet.]

That shower sounds like a good idea. [And she could stand to put some ice on her ribs.]

[He lets his own fingers slide into place, threaded with hers. He likes these moments, ones where they don't have to say anything, where they can just be.

When she finally lets go, his hand feels off without the warmth, and weight of her palm against his. He stands as she does.]

Yeah, it does. [He absently rubs his chest, giving a huff of a laugh.] Man, I'm going to be feeling that later. Did you have to kick so hard? [It's teasing, obviously, if he were that fragile he wouldn't be in this sort of a job, but it's fun to tease.]

Yes. [She smirks slightly, chuckling.] If you hadn't noticed, you're heavy.

[Not too heavy to throw off, but it just took a little more force. She may have used more than necessary, but it had felt good at the time.]

So I better hope you don't have to carry me out of a burning building or anything, right?

I'm sure I could if I had to.

[Her lips quirk.]

But I don't think Tony would mind giving you a ride. [Or Cap. Or Bruce. Pretty much anyone else on the team would have no problem throwing Clint over their shoulder and getting him out of a building.

Natasha is built for fast, for stealth and killing strikes; heavy lifting isn't her strong suit.]

I don't think any of them would let me live it down if that ever happened. [He chuckles as he says it.]

Probably not. [Steve is likeliest to just let it slide with a "You'd do the same for me" or something like that. That didn't mean everyone else wouldn't give Clint hell for needing to be rescued.]

I guess you'll have to try to avoid burning buildings.

I never really wanted to be a fireman as a kid. Can't move in all that equipment.

[He doesn't actually remember a lot of what he wanted to do as a kid before the carnival, and it really isn't something he thinks on all that often. The past is the past, and it's better not held onto at the end of the day.]

You wouldn't look quite as good, either.

[She grins slightly.]

[He chuckles softly, though it is brief.]

You don't have to lie, I know I look like death right now.

[He reaches out though, to brush a stray curl away from Natasha's face. His voice is teasing.]

Suppose it's better than bed-head though.

[Natasha huffs quietly, brushing her hair properly out of her face.]

My hair can't always look perfect after sparring.

And here I thought you just threatened it back into line.

[He likes it mussed though. It's kind of sexy.]
