The 'We're Stranded' Meme
You’re stranded it’s as simple as that. Maybe you were on your way to a nice relaxing holiday, a business trip or maybe you were just on your way home. Whatever the case, it doesn’t look like you’re going to be reaching your destination any time soon. You’re stuck and all you can do is to try and survive until help arrives. If help ever does arrive. Well, at least you’re not alone. No, there’s someone here stranded with you. Maybe you know them, maybe they’re a complete stranger or maybe they were stranded here long before you. Whoever they are you’re going to have to work together to get out of this mess.
What you do to survive and what happens to you is up to you. Do you search for food, do you try and find any signs of human life, do you have a run in with the locals or the local wildlife or do you just close your eyes and hope someone finds you. Whatever happens good luck.
RULES
- Comment with your character, canon, preferences and any ideas you might have
- It might be useful to note whether you want the interaction to be between two strangers or if you’re okay with any assumed cr
- Feel free to set up your own scenario in your initial comment to give taggers something to work with or just leave your comment blank
- Pick a scenario that catches your eye or use trusty old RNG
- Reply to others!
WHERE ARE YOU STRANDED?
- On an island – You’re stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere. There’s no phone or radio signal and there are no signs of life (that you can see). It could be a huge island with a dense forest in the center or it could be a small, sandy island with sparse vegetation cover. It’s up to you.
- In the jungle – One minute you’re making your way along a jungle trail and the next minute you’re completely lost. You have no idea where you are, you have no idea which way to go and all you can see around you is trees and more trees. Have fun in the jungle. Look out for the wildlife and any local tribes
- In space – The sci-fi option. For some reason you were in space. Maybe you’re inside a ship stranded in the middle of nowhere or stranded in the middle of some kind of asteroid field. Or maybe you were outside of your space shuttle and now you’re stranded with no way to return. Let’s hope your oxygen supply doesn’t run out
- Open Water – Maybe you were simply out for a swim and the current was too strong, pulling you out to sea. Maybe you were diving and after resurfacing you’ve realized you have absolutely no idea which way is land and your boat is nowhere to be seen. Or maybe it’s a Titanic-type situation and your ship has sunk. Better get your life jacket ready.
- High in the air – Maybe you’re trapped in a ski lift high above the ground just like the movie Frozen. Maybe you were on a roller-coaster or a Ferris wheel and the rides malfunctioned. Or maybe you’re just stuck at the top of a really, really high mountain or cliff. Whatever the situation you better not be afraid of heights!
- Inside an elevator - This one is pretty self-explanatory. You were in an elevator, the elevator stopped and now you’re stranded inside the small space, probably with a bunch of people you don’t know until help arrives.
- A cave – Maybe you had planned to explore the cave system or maybe it was a spontaneous event but you went inside and now you’re stranded with no way out.
- The middle of nowhere – This can cover any landscape really: a mountainous area, a desert, the middle of the countryside, a tundra area. Whatever the landscape there’s no signs of human life anywhere. You’re stranded.
- Wild Card! – Don’t like any of the options given? Come up with your own scenario!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
- Searching for food/supplies!
- Setting up a camp/shelter from the rain
- Coming into contact with (possibly dangerous) locals/local wildlife
- Calling for help
- Trying to find a place with better signal
- Just generally freaking out
- Trying to come up with a plan
- An obligatory smut option
- Wild Card! – There are so many options and so many things you could do in this situation. Use your imagination!

9, stranded in another dimension
First off, he really, seriously needed to have a talk with Washu about activating experimental time-and-space tearing technology in the house. For one thing it wasn't even the first time one of those devices had malfunctioned, what with being sent through five different alternate realities when she tried it the first time. For another thing, they were so loud! Noise pollution is a serious problem when you're trying to finish your homework!
Secondly, the forest was beautiful. He'd seen the trees change color as summer turned to autumn back home, but never an entire forest of deep red leaves. It's almost surreal, and he had to pick a few up between his fingers to make sure they were real - and they most certainly were. Well, maybe Washu hadn't screwed up so bad - at least she'd sent him somewhere nice! The mad scientist was probably already hard at work finding a way to repair the fabric of the universe, so he can at least take in a deep breath of fresh air and enjoy the view while he waits, right? Right?
Thirdly, monsters.
Which is why Tenchi's few minutes of relaxation have now escalated to a full-on sprint through the woods with the beasts hot on his heels, a broken stick in one hand from when he'd tried to fight them off briefly on his own. His technique was sharp as ever, but unfortunately that didn't mean much without a half-decent weapon on-hand, and as such he resorts to his second weapon of choice.
Noise pollution. ]
HEEEEEEEY! ANYBODY, HEEEEEEELP!

of course, by then, the rest of the group had already wandered far enough, and she didn't have time to really think — she bolts towards the voice, and while she may not have had ruby's speed, she gets there fast enough to see the guy peeling down the forest like his life depended on it.
and it kinda did.
the grimm hot on his trail didn't look like too much of a threat, but given the guy seemed only arms with — was that a stick? yeah... it was definitely time to step in.
from the cliff she'd been watching from, she hops down unto the grimm's back. one punch, two, three — it goes down like a lead balloon. there's maybe even a spark of disappointment in yang, who'd anticipated more of a challenge... but that doesn't overpower the relief she feels upon seeing the guy looks fairly unharmed. ]
Sooo.... [ she hops down from the fallen grimm's head, landing just a few feet away from tenchi. she glances down at the stick in his hands. ]
I'm guessing that doesn't also turn into a gun?

His mournful thoughts are interrupted by what sounds distinctly like a gunshot from directly behind him, and he nearly topples over in surprise as he whips his head around to see what's going on. What he did not expect to see was some blond girl literally on top of the monster, punching its head with... gun fists?? You know what, it's not even the strangest thing he's seen. He'll allow it.
As the beast topples to the ground Tenchi slows his pace to a halt, doubled over with his hands on his knees as he wheezes for breath. ]
Too close... way too close...
[ He lifts his head tiredly to peer at his savior, who didn't seem to have broken a sweat whatsoever. At her question he raises the broken stick to examine it, having forgotten he was even still carrying the useless thing, and tosses it wearily aside. ]
No... apparently it just turns into splinters. [ an exhausted laugh, as his expression warms slightly. ] I can't thank you enough, though! You really saved my hide, miss.

No big, I was just passing by. [ hopefully professor goodwitch won't be too angry with her...
she hunches over a little too, resting her own hands on her knees so she's at least level enough with him that she can peer at his face. he doesn't look familiar at all, so he couldn't have been a student... though he looks right around her age. ]
I'm guessing you're not from around here?
no subject
You have no idea how true that is.
[ He's been geographically, dimensionally, perhaps even chronologically relocated - he's about as "not from around here" as a person could get.
With a short huff of breath he pushes himself to stand straight again, stretching his back before realizing that he should probably at least introduce himself to the person who saved his life. He offers a hand, accompanied by an earnest smile. ]
I'm Tenchi, Tenchi Masaki. Sorry for the inconvenience!
