 THE ‘WE’RE STRANDED’ MEME

You’re stranded it’s as simple as that. Maybe you were on your way to a nice relaxing holiday, a business trip or maybe you were just on your way home. Whatever the case, it doesn’t look like you’re going to be reaching your destination any time soon. You’re stuck and all you can do is to try and survive until help arrives. If help ever does arrive. Well, at least you’re not alone. No, there’s someone here stranded with you. Maybe you know them, maybe they’re a complete stranger or maybe they were stranded here long before you. Whoever they are you’re going to have to work together to get out of this mess.

 

What you do to survive and what happens to you is up to you. Do you search for food, do you try and find any signs of human life, do you have a run in with the locals or the local wildlife or do you just close your eyes and hope someone finds you. Whatever happens good luck.

WHERE ARE YOU STRANDED?

1. On an island – You’re stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere. There’s no phone or radio signal and there are no signs of life (that you can see). It could be a huge island with a dense forest in the center or it could be a small, sandy island with sparse vegetation cover. It’s up to you.
2.  In the jungle – One minute you’re making your way along a jungle trail and the next minute you’re completely lost. You have no idea where you are, you have no idea which way to go and all you can see around you is trees and more trees. Have fun in the jungle. Look out for the wildlife and any local tribes
3.  In space – The sci-fi option. For some reason you were in space. Maybe you’re inside a ship stranded in the middle of nowhere or stranded in the middle of some kind of asteroid field. Or maybe you were outside of your space shuttle and now you’re stranded with no way to return. Let’s hope your oxygen supply doesn’t run out
4. Open Water – Maybe you were simply out for a swim and the current was too strong, pulling you out to sea. Maybe you were diving and after resurfacing you’ve realized you have absolutely no idea which way is land and your boat is nowhere to be seen. Or maybe it’s a Titanic-type situation and your ship has sunk. Better get your life jacket ready.
5. High in the air – Maybe you’re trapped in a ski lift high above the ground just like the movie Frozen. Maybe you were on a roller-coaster or a Ferris wheel and the rides malfunctioned. Or maybe you’re just stuck at the top of a really, really high mountain or cliff. Whatever the situation you better not be afraid of heights!
6.  Inside an elevator - This one is pretty self-explanatory. You were in an elevator, the elevator stopped and now you’re stranded inside the small space, probably with a bunch of people you don’t know until help arrives.
7.  A cave – Maybe you had planned to explore the cave system or maybe it was a spontaneous event but you went inside and now you’re stranded with no way out.
8. The middle of nowhere – This can cover any landscape really: a mountainous area, a desert, the middle of the countryside, a tundra area. Whatever the landscape there’s no signs of human life anywhere. You’re stranded.
9. Wild Card! – Don’t like any of the options given? Come up with your own scenario!

 

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

1. Searching for food/supplies!
2. Setting up a camp/shelter from the rain
3. Coming into contact with (possibly dangerous) locals/local wildlife
4. Calling for help
5. Trying to find a place with better signal
6. Just generally freaking out
7. Trying to come up with a plan
8. An obligatory smut option
9. Wild Card! – There are so many options and so many things you could do in this situation. Use your imagination!

[ It's cold. COLD and she's hungry. And she's stuck with Lee of all people! But he's some kind of warrior, right? Definitely not as strong as her husband, but he should be as strong as Krillin at least... Right? ]

[Rock Lee replies as if being drilled by a superior! Which I guess isn't too far off...]

Ah! Miss Bulma-san! I am thinking of a solution! [The saiyains chased their current enemy into space after all, who knows when they'll be back to pick them up.]

I am sorry to report that I have never trained in rock-climbing before. But... I am willing to try! I will apply myself and do my best! And I will gladly try to carry you at the same time!

[ She'd be more okay with that if he could fly... But it's better than doing it herself! ]

Alright. But if you drop me or try anything funny, Vegeta will hear about it!

[ Okay, so Vegeta probably wouldn't care if he dropped her, which is probably more likely to happen... But still. ]

Ah... Please don't worry! [He waves his hands in front of his face nervously.] I will be nothing but entirely serious about this endeavor! Would you like to get on my back?!

[ But she has her eye on you, weirdo. That isn't going to stop her from climbing onto his back though, and probably kneeing him in the side and choking him while she tries to find a comfortable position. ]

Ack! Oof! [He groans a bit, but he's strong and manages to stay still as she clambers onto his back. He'll endure it.]

[Some cruise. Now they're stuck on an island, great. It's not even a nice island. He's sitting in the sand, cheek in his hand, looking frustrated.]

This was all your idea, you know.

[ She's been doing the same thing. Sulking, and staring out into the water, rather than attempting to do anything productive. Shouldn't they be glad to at least be alive? ]

So, is that why you aren't doing anything about it? I just thought it was because we finally returned you to your natural habitat!

[ There are some trees, so there's bound to be a monkey here somewhere, right? ]

[He's too old to lose his mind at that. He's learned when to ignore her.

Perhaps you could do something productive than just run your mouth. [Standing up, he takes a look around. There's got to be something useful around here...]

Oh, like what? Build a boat and sail us back home?

[ She scoffs, crossing her arms defiantly ]

I'm tired. Besides, you're the big strong man, why don't you build us a shelter?

You're the scientist. Is a boat so hard to make? [He sneers at her, but a shelter isn't a bad idea. In fact, he's just going to stalk walking over towards the jungle, without her.]

No, it's so simple, even you c-- Wait, where are you going?!

[ Yeah, she's just going to scramble to her feet and hurry after him. Even though he's a HUGE JERK, she doesn't exactly want to be left alone on some weird island that's probably full of dinosaurs. ]

I'm going to get materials to build ourselves a roof over our heads. You are going to stay put.

[He keeps walking.]

The last thing I need is you getting in my way, or getting into trouble.

Hn... [ She smirks knowingly, totally ignoring his orders and following after him. ]

Sounds like you are actually worried about me!

Worried that I'll have to waste my time saving your sorry hide! [Walking further into the jungle. He spots a tree, and to be completely honest, it looks pretty sturdy. That could make for a good place to build.]

[He jumps, reaching for a branch and lifting himself up onto it. Okay, good. Oh look, he's leaving her behind on the ground.]

[ OH LOOK A HUNGRY DINOSAUR She stomps her foot angrily. NOT ONLY is he abandoning her, he just can't admit that he actually cares. Typical. ]

VEGETA!! What are you doing?! Hurry up and get back down here!

Would you pipe down a bit!? [He climbs up farther, to a suitable point where he's thinking of actually making a shelter for the two of them. He tests the branches, and they're pretty solid. Solid and absolutely huge. He'd hope so, considering the tree itself was massive. This should do.

He starts his descent down, until he puts too much weight on one particular, thinner branch and it makes a large cracking sound....]
