 THE ‘WE’RE STRANDED’ MEME

You’re stranded it’s as simple as that. Maybe you were on your way to a nice relaxing holiday, a business trip or maybe you were just on your way home. Whatever the case, it doesn’t look like you’re going to be reaching your destination any time soon. You’re stuck and all you can do is to try and survive until help arrives. If help ever does arrive. Well, at least you’re not alone. No, there’s someone here stranded with you. Maybe you know them, maybe they’re a complete stranger or maybe they were stranded here long before you. Whoever they are you’re going to have to work together to get out of this mess.

 

What you do to survive and what happens to you is up to you. Do you search for food, do you try and find any signs of human life, do you have a run in with the locals or the local wildlife or do you just close your eyes and hope someone finds you. Whatever happens good luck.

RULES

• It might be useful to note whether you want the interaction to be between two strangers or if you’re okay with any assumed cr
• Feel free to set up your own scenario in your initial comment to give taggers something to work with or just leave your comment blank

WHERE ARE YOU STRANDED?

1. On an island – You’re stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere. There’s no phone or radio signal and there are no signs of life (that you can see). It could be a huge island with a dense forest in the center or it could be a small, sandy island with sparse vegetation cover. It’s up to you.
2.  In the jungle – One minute you’re making your way along a jungle trail and the next minute you’re completely lost. You have no idea where you are, you have no idea which way to go and all you can see around you is trees and more trees. Have fun in the jungle. Look out for the wildlife and any local tribes
3.  In space – The sci-fi option. For some reason you were in space. Maybe you’re inside a ship stranded in the middle of nowhere or stranded in the middle of some kind of asteroid field. Or maybe you were outside of your space shuttle and now you’re stranded with no way to return. Let’s hope your oxygen supply doesn’t run out
4. Open Water – Maybe you were simply out for a swim and the current was too strong, pulling you out to sea. Maybe you were diving and after resurfacing you’ve realized you have absolutely no idea which way is land and your boat is nowhere to be seen. Or maybe it’s a Titanic-type situation and your ship has sunk. Better get your life jacket ready.
5. High in the air – Maybe you’re trapped in a ski lift high above the ground just like the movie Frozen. Maybe you were on a roller-coaster or a Ferris wheel and the rides malfunctioned. Or maybe you’re just stuck at the top of a really, really high mountain or cliff. Whatever the situation you better not be afraid of heights!
6.  Inside an elevator - This one is pretty self-explanatory. You were in an elevator, the elevator stopped and now you’re stranded inside the small space, probably with a bunch of people you don’t know until help arrives.
7.  A cave – Maybe you had planned to explore the cave system or maybe it was a spontaneous event but you went inside and now you’re stranded with no way out.
8. The middle of nowhere – This can cover any landscape really: a mountainous area, a desert, the middle of the countryside, a tundra area. Whatever the landscape there’s no signs of human life anywhere. You’re stranded.
9. Wild Card! – Don’t like any of the options given? Come up with your own scenario!

 

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

2. Setting up a camp/shelter from the rain
3. Coming into contact with (possibly dangerous) locals/local wildlife
4. Calling for help
5. Trying to find a place with better signal
6. Just generally freaking out

Clara can't believe it, no, she can believe they ended up stuck in a jungle. It is sticky, warm, and Clara looks worried about the tiny bugs that were swarming around them.

"So do you want to tell me why we're here?" She questions The Doctor, as she swats at a fly as it buzzes past her. "Better yet, where are we?" Her voice hints at a bit of impatience, as she stares at The Doctor and swats at another small fly. She's doing her best to keep herself calm, but somehow she suspects they're here for a reason be it a good one or a bad one.

Again, with the swatting as she stood there in the shade of the large trees and the damp leaf litter on the ground. She glances upwards, and she tries to get a good look at the sky. She even wonders if they're still on Earth.

[ Their hideout of choice is on the 22nd floor of a high-rise in the Uralmash district; a godforsaken structure that's seen its fair share of the elements; standing through the Russian winters with a slight list to one side. Outside the apartment window, the storm howls - sleet drumming the panes. Pierce has had some (unquestioned) idea that they meet up with a Russian squad, one that knows the area, in order to take out a pair of medical technicians, whose advancements are enough to make them of note to Hydra.

Rumlow pulls his coat close as he enters the lobby; they're in civilian clothes - only himself and the asset have been sent out to meet with the Russian faction, but due to the nature of this storm, the entire operation has been temporarily derailed; the Russian transport system virtually grinding to a halt, airplanes grounded, cars pulled over onto the pavement. It's cold, blindingly so.

He presses the floor number, huffing out a frozen breath, and slumping against the side of the elevator, vowing never to visit Russia again in the foreseeable future. The supplies he's (begrudgingly) gone out to get are veritably frozen inside the packet he carries them in.

Unlocking the apartment, he glances in, looks around for the Asset as he shucks his damp coat, draping it over the back of one of the kitchen chairs. The place is meagre, but it's better than a camp - it keeps most of the draughts out, although he's already going half mad with the inactivity. Rumlow leaves the supplies on the table (to thaw out, he thinks, vaguely bemused). Walking towards the living room, he unwinds his scarf, slowly removing the layers required in this damnable city.

[The electricity seems to blot just as the elevator comes to a stiff lurch, and suddenly the metal confine is immersed in darkness. Apollo, between constantly checking of his cellphone reception and entertaining the vague memory of an old case involving elevators and earthquakes, isn't quite sure when exactly would be the best time to start panicking, but he's done well so far through the sheer power of kidding himself. 'It’ll be fine.' 'We’ll be fine.' 'Fine fine fine.'

Having gotten a lucky break on today's investigation, Apollo figures this is probably just the universe's way of saying that he's had enough good news for one day. Time for the world to balance itself again,

And so for all the 2-hours-and-some of being here, Apollo has been breathing shallowly and practicing silence, afraid that talking would compromise the situation further. But now kind of he's getting all fidgety because when you keep in mind that the building itself is practically ancient, the elevator is more oxidized than an Austim Maestro, and the confine itself is only a slight improvement from a cardboard box--]

[ The jungle is a cruel mistress. The heat and humidity are killer. While the sights are nice, unless you just really love trees, it gets boring after a while. Trees, trees and more trees, wow. But that's what they're stuck looking at, at least until they can figure out someway to get back home. Though right now, Bolin and Korra are on a more important quest: the search for what they are going to eat for lunch.

Given Bolin's vast experience at foraging for food where food should never be foraged for, he's taking charge right now.

It's probably not reassuring though, when he picks up a plant that looks like it should never be eaten and give it a whiff ]

Guy would enjoy the sights better if they knew where they were. These ruins were vast and complicated. He really hoped they won't get stuck down here--dying down here would be an embarrassing way to go.
