[It's been a few hours. The car is swelteringly hot, and Bruce is pretty sure the A/C busted around fifty miles ago. For the past twenty minutes it's been kind of a tense silence, which was unfortunate because he'd thought that a road trip with Natasha had actually sounded sort of...fun. Less irritating than a road trip with Tony, anyway. (Did Tony even go in for road trips? He seemed like a flight-always kind of guy.)

This time, however, he poked the ninja repeatedly to get his attention.

"Sir, there's a rod comin' up that takes us straight to the Glass Forest! We can't go through this country without goin' there!" He put on his widest puppy eyes when he spoke, hoping it would be enough to convince the driver.

We really shouldn't have missed the last rest stop. [And unfortunately, this was the middle of the desert: gas stations were few and far between.]

Hey, can you keep an eye out for any gas station? We really need to refill the tank right now, and it doesn't look like we can expect help if we end up stuck in the middle of the road.

This was truly humiliating.

Loki's plans never failed, they only ever diverted down an unexpected path. This path, however, was not one he would have chosen had he any other choice. Stranded in the far reaches of the galaxy with no means of finding decent transportation, the only option he had seen was to use that silver tongue of his to convince Peter Quill to give him passage on this pathetic excuse of a ship.

[This was not a good day for Shinobu. She was abandoned on the side of the road and hungry. Not to mention, she was too tired to use her powers and walking home was too much of a pain.

That's why she had to resort to extreme measures. Putting her pride aside, the poor girl had to sell herself in order to get back home.

So all she does is hold up a sign reading "SUPER CUTE VAMPIRE DEMANDING IMMEDIATE TRANSPORTATION" and hopes that a car would stop and pick her up. Shinobu was a rather picky girl, so they had to meet certain qualifications if she was going to ride with them.]
