winter meme? winter meme.

it's quiet
and the snow's beautiful tonighta winter open meme

snowfall;

stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white.
stage ii; very light and intermittent.
stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods.
stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall.
stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it.

scenarios;

① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

⑦ mix and match, or make up your own.

Sharon didn't expect to learn that Steve was an artist. "I'd like to see some of your drawings...I mean, if you have any," she said earnestly. It was interesting to see this other side to Captain America. She was slightly jealous that there was more to him then just being Captain America.

Sharon focused all her attention on proving herself at SHIELD. She looked up to her Aunt Peggy so much, and tried her best to be just like her. In her ambitions to be like her aunt, she barely focused on discovering her own interests.

Steve smiled and dropped his head. "I have a few, but they're not really much good. Out of practice and all that. I was mostly self-taught." Sometimes he thought about seeing if there was any formal lessons out there for people like him. "Some day I'd like to try paints. I never could afford them...before."

He doesn't draw as much as he used to, not when it sometimes made him brood too much for his past.

Sharon had to admit to herself that he was really adorable when he was being humble. She finished up the rest of her meatloaf. "I'm sure they aren't that bad," she said with a smile. "I can't wait to see them." There was a brief pause before she said her next words, "After I clean the dishes." After all, it is the least she could do. She got a free meal out of this. She didn't want to take advantage of Steve's good nature, She would feel guilty if she didn't do something for him in return.

By the time Sharon had finished her meal so had Steve, and he's began to pile up the plates and utensils. "Trust me, there's lots better out there than a 90 year old fella playing at being an artist." He wanted to object, and say that she's a guest but he could tell she was going to insist on this one, especially after the reluctance to even just come over and have dinner.

"If you insist."

"At least you look great for your age," she teased. Okay, it was not in her assignment to flirt with Captain America. She took the dirty plates and utensils and headed to the kitchen. "It's the least I can do since you made dinner," she said over her shoulder with a smile. Sharon placed them in the sink and turned the water and looked for the soap so she could wash them.

"You might say I got my full share of beautysleep and more." Steve shrugged with an easy smile and followed her to the kitchen, snagging a dishcloth on the way. If she was going to wash, at least he could dry the dishes.

"Dishsoap's underneath the sink." He's not fond of the scent of chemical dishsoap but it really was more convenient than the hard bars of stuff he used to use in the forties.

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-09-24 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Sharon had to give a small laugh at his statement. She bent down to look under the sink, and it was right at the front. She grabbed it and stood back up. She looked over at him, "You don't have to dry," she stated. She started washing one of the plates. But she knew Steve was just as stubborn as she was so after washing the plate she hands it to him. Sharon was a little unsure what she should say to make conversation. "So, you like reading, drawing and visiting museums. Any other interests?"

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-09-26 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I actually do. I'll feel awkward if you're doing all the work and I'm just standing around looking useless." Steve answered as he picked up a dishcloth and started to dry the clean wet dishes one by one as they were handed to him. "I have a list I'm making and crossing out one by one. Of things I should watch, listen or otherwise catch up to. What about you? What do you like to do in your free time?"
codenameagent13: ([look] the city is contagious)

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-09-27 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Him? Awkward? Why that never happens! Truth be told, while on this assignment of watching Captain America, she could tell when he wasn't out saving the world, he was a different person. He had awkward moments and Sharon sometimes felt bad for him, but at the same time thought he looked adorable when he was. Sharon couldn't help but smile when he mentioned his list.

"As you can imagine, being a nurse means I keep strange hours and really don't have much free time," she replied to his question as she finished up the dishes. "But it seems we both like to read in our spare time. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn is really good, if you're into mysteries."
whatsfondue: (if you say so ma'am)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-09-30 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve carefully put away the clean dishes before laying out the dishcloth to dry on the counter as he usually did. "I am! I enjoyed the novels by Agatha Christie...there were new ones out I didn't catch earlier. But I'll put Gillian Flynn on the list as well...I'll get through it all eventually."

He smiled and leaned back against the counter. "Got any music recs for me then since we're at it?"

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-01 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, depends on what your tastes are. Not sure what they had back in your day, it's pretty different nowadays. I really like Adele, just the way that she sings. It's very soulful," replied Sharon. She thought to herself that Steve might like Lana Del Ray. Sharon wasn't in to alot of rock and roll or pop music. Most of her ipod consisted of ballads and some a capella tracks. "I should make you a playlist," she offered. "Do you have an iPod?"
whatsfondue: (if you say so ma'am)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-03 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve smiled nostalgically. "I used to sneak in to the jazz clubs with..." He paused for a moment then continued. "...with a friend. That probably gives you a clue of what I like." A few of his fellow agents at SHIELD had suggested a few of their favourite heavy metal and rock pieces but on the whole he wasn't fond of them. "I do actually. Hang on a second."

The ipod had been a gift, ostensibly for him to listen to music when he took his daily jogs but usually he preferred to concentrate on his surroundings instead.
codenameagent13: ([look] checking steve's instagram page)

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-04 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Sharon couldn't help but smile at him. "So Captain America used to sneak into jazz clubs? The papers would have a field day with that." So he liked jazz, and she knew a few jazz musicians. Her aunt used to have records of Coltrane. She made a mental list of recent artists she thought he might like. Sharon liked Lana Del Rey and Michael Buble.

"I could pull up some songs off the Internet for you to listen to, and see if you like them," she suggested. "Then I can make you a playlist."
whatsfondue: (if you say so ma'am)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-06 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve shrugged. "Steve Rogers used to sneak into jazz clubs. Captain America didn't exist back then." He's always been fond of music and sadly could not always afford the cover the clubs charged and some were willing to overlook a too small for his age kid and his friend occasionally if they caught them sneaking in.

He smiled at the offer. "That'll be swell. Thanks a lot. I know you don't have a lot of free time, with your job and all..."

codenameagent13: ([smile] one of those nights)

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-07 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Steve Rogers sounds like he was an adorable little rebel," she said with a grin. It was ironic that all of her interactions with Captain America was when he wasn't saving the world. He was a different person, and she had to admit he reminded her of an adorable golden retriever.

"Now that the dishes are done, you can show me your sketch book," she said. "Don't think I forgot about it."
whatsfondue: (if you say so ma'am)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-08 08:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Steve Rogers also used to get beat up in the back alleys of Brooklyn." He answered dryly. Steve was glad she'd taken up his invitation to eat and chat; it got a bit too quite in his apartment sometimes. Never mind that Natasha has been slowly prodding him to go out and meet people but he'd been reluctant.

"Aw, shucks. I was hoping you'd forget." Steve said good-naturedly enough and it only took a few minutes to retrieve his sketchbook from his bedroom to hand over to her.
codenameagent13: ([smile] I only want to die alive)

I have like no icons of her smiling, I'm sorry. /uses the same two over and over

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-09 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I guess Steve Rogers didn't believe in walking away," she replied, with a small shake of her head. He wouldn't have become Captain America if he did walk away from a fight.

With a smile, she took the sketch book and opened it. "Lucky for you, I have a great memory." She examined each page with interest. After a few pages she said, "These are pretty good. If you ever decide to retire as Captain America, you can be an artist."
whatsfondue: (geeky grin)

sorry for that late tag, I've been on vacation

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-13 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I don't. Some things are worth taking a stand on." He agreed easily. 'Didn't believe in walking away' could also translate to 'too stubborn for his own good', or so he's been told before.

"It's good to know I have options if I ever hang up the shield." Steve answered answered jokingly. He doubted that he would ever really quit though, nor would any government let it's one super soldier go.
codenameagent13: ([smile] one of those nights)

It's okay!

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-14 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Sharon wondered what exactly he took a stand on. Most likely something noble and righteous. "I think you would have quite a few options if you decided to stop being Captain America," she said as she imagined he would be a very sought after male model.

She finished looking at his sketches and looked at him, "Can you draw me like one of your French girls?" she asked, jokingly.
whatsfondue: (if you say so ma'am)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-17 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly it was because he couldn't stand bullies in any shape or form. He shrugged again. "Well, maybe I can be a street artist. Sell me sketches on the sidewalk or do portraits or something. Less paperwork at least." Not an easy life he knew, but would certainly be a change from fighting terrorists or filling out forms after forms in his off time.

"Oh! I know that reference!" He perked up. "From Titanic right?" He was getting more references slowly as he caught up and there was always burst of pride when he got something.
codenameagent13: ([smile] one of those nights)

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-17 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, she knew exactly what he meant about the paperwork. She swore SHIELD would be the sole cause of killing all the planet's trees. "You'd have a lot more creative freedom," she said with a smile. "But people may be more interested in taking a picture with you then buying a sketch." After all, he was Captain America.

She had to laugh when he exclaimed that he got the reference. "Yeah, Titanic. Although now you have me wondering who got you to watch it. That's more of a date night movie."
whatsfondue: (contemplative)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-19 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
You would think that in this 'modern' world a military organization that prizes themselves on having state of the art technology and efficiency would have cut down on the paperwork but instead it seemed like the opposite, that there were even MORE of it. "No? Too bad...maybe they'd be interested in self-portraits in the uniform instead if Captain America is all that they're interested in. Photos are nice and all but sketches are more unique."

He smiled. "A co-worker did. It was part of an attempt to set me up with someone." Natasha meant well but Steve hasn't been in the mood for dates lately.
codenameagent13: ([smile] one of those nights)

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-20 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
"She wasn't your type?" she pressed on, with a teasing smile. She couldn't resist finding out more information about his love life. If The Washington Post ever did an editorial piece on Captain America's love life, it would be her guilty read. Sharon didn't think he would have any problems impressing a girl. "I wouldn't think dating would be easy for you."

Dating for her was a problem she avoided. Considering the nature of her work whoever she was dating would be kept in the dark about a huge part of her life. And she definitely refused to go down the inter-office romance path.
whatsfondue: (headtilt)

[personal profile] whatsfondue 2014-10-22 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve shrugged, a bit uncomfortable. "She's a perfectly fine person just...I don't think dating's for me right now." If ever, if he was honest to himself. And Sharon was right, dating wasn't easy for him, not before the war and it certainly hasn't changed seventy years in the future. If anything it was even more awkward.

He had nothing against dating co-workers, hoping that close contact would mitigate some of the awe and reverence some people felt for Captain America.

codenameagent13: ([look] it should be easy)

[personal profile] codenameagent13 2014-10-24 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
She noticed he was uncomfortable, and found it ironic. Captain America could take on HYDRA and the Red Skull. But when it comes to dating, he gets shy. "Dating isn't for everyone," she said as she looked through his sketchbook a little more. "I'm not the type to choose love over duty. My job is the most important thing to me."

SHIELD was her life and she couldn't see her living a life without it. She had invested far too much into her career there. "You just need to get used to the 21st century. You have alot of catching up to do." No one would be dumb enough to say no to Captain America.
