The Dollhouse AU Meme (For The TV Series)

Warning - There are many spoilers for the entire fandom/canon under the cut! Please do not read this meme if you want to avoid spoilers for the entire Dollhouse series.

This is the meme for people who want to RP in the Dollhouse world, including AUs and crossovers.

[How To]

1. Post as your character. (Please write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line, and also if they're canon, AU, crossover or OC, etc. Please also write down preferences, etc in the comment box)

2. Choose a scenario, or any combinations of any scenarios you want to try out. Making up your own scenario is fine, too! Either mun can make the suggestions for a scenario.

3. Thread, tag and have fun!

1. Your character is a Doll/Active.

2. No, your character is a Handler, Tech or Management, etc.

3. Recruitment - So how'd your character end up in the Dollhouse, anyway?

5. Engagements - Mission Impossible. The client needed an Op done last friday, and they don't have a time machine? Don't worry, these are the Dolls who will make the impossible possible...

7. 'Needs' Revisted - The Dolls seem to be stressing out and regaining bits and pieces of their memories again. It's time to give them back parts of their original personalities for a bit, and let them blow off some steam...

8. What if you actually need more then one version of yourself? It can be arranged, actually, if you have the right connections...

9. The End Of the World Scenario - Dollhouse Tech has gotten out and run wild, and the world has gone done the crapper. Can your characters survive in a Crapsack World filled with blank slates and mental zombies, and go on to save the world?

11. The Day The Mindprogramming Equipment Malfunctioned - Things are going to go pearshaped very shortly...

12. Somebody else (that isn't connected to the Dollhouse or the parent company) has access to Dollhouse Tech.

With hair as black as night, and lips as red as blood, Tango--sometimes known as Tessa--is programmed to be the girl of everybody's dreams. Everybody with any kind of Snow White fantasy, anyway. Sometimes she's, the hospice caregiver, holding the hands of elderly men as they live out their last wishes. Sometimes she's the damsel in distress for some rich badboy to rescue and ride off with into the sunset. Sometimes she's the femme fatale, the assassin, a manslayer both literally and figuratively.

So many lifetimes, so many names; who can keep track? Well, there is probably one person who remembers every single one of her names, but she wouldn't know to ask him in the first place. There's really just one question that comes to mind as she looks up into the technician's blue eyes at the end of her 'examination.'

"Did I fall asleep?"

Castiel bites back a sigh as he looks over the Active he's just wiped. "For a little while," he replies in his deep gruff voice as he spins in his chair and checks her vitals. Even for a tech, Cas is a bit of an odd duck. He only talks when someone needs something,has a work space that looks like a tornado of paper and burger wrappers exploded all over it and he freely admits his people skills are "rusty."

He sets her chair in motion smiling at her, this Active is one of his favorites though most of the techs don't admit they have them. She's pretty and sweet with a certain something that just makes him happy to see her. He scoots his chair back so he's out of her way hands patting his ratty jeans and tugging slightly at his worn out black t-shirt. "Everything feel good today Tango?"

"Yes, thank you!" she says, standing, and smiling back at him with that wide eyed innocent look. Some might call it stupid, but at least it wasn't completely blank. Just...childlike. Not that she realized anything was wrong. For her, all she knew was that Cas was nice to her, and she trusted him in spite of his occasional gruffness. "I try to be my best."

She tiltsnher head in consideration, and since there doesn't seem to be anyone else waiting for a checkup, she asks, "How are you?"

The question however innocent it might be throws Cas for a loop. He isn't used to people asking him how he is, most of them just ask what they need to and get out. "I'm doing well Tango," he stammers softly his normally deep tones going slightly higher. "It's very nice of you to ask after me. Most people don't."

For whatever reason, the new Alfa active was having trouble settling back into a neutral state. Examining his files, his handler, Tera West, realized that he'd been sent on a series of intense, high risk engagements, and even some of his romantic engagements had evolved into high risk situations. She decided it was time to let him defrag, so to speak, and hopefully work through so, e of those issues. Thankfully, her request to return some of Scott's own personality to Alfa had been approved. All she had to do was get him to the chair.

[There's no telling how long she's been standing at the edge of Skye's workspace, idly but silently tapping her pen against her clipboard (what can she say, sometimes she's a traditionalist, preferring the good old-fashioned way to the more standard techie options) and just waiting for the other woman's attention to shift her way.

She could just clear her throat, say something, but she hates being interrupted when she's working, she tends to assume it's the same way for others.

But when Skye finally turns away from her computer, Dr. Simmons is all tight smiles and inquisitive expressions.]

If you have a moment, I'd appreciate a briefing.

[She's got the engagement details in front of her. Or the details as are seen fit to share with her. It shouldn't matter much, she's just the doctor, she's just here to fix the dolls' scrapes and sprained ankles, really, but she's got this habit of worrying about her charges, you see.]

Whoa, some warning before you just stand there quietly.

[Skye had to say she had been surprised the first time Jemma Simmons had shown up in her office pre-mission wanting answers. After missions she may have expected, if only to help treat the injuries but as far as she knew, the Dollhouse doctors didn't really usually want details before any actual injuries.

But she hadn't minded. They both shared one thing: they didn't want the Actives hurt. Skye did the preemptive end of that as she looked through a myriad of capable personalities to find the one most likely to handle the situation and her doc friend patched them up when not even the best personality was good enough.]

Yeah... I've been expecting you since I got the orders myself. One sec. [Sighing, she turns back and taps a few more keys to get some transfers under way for analysis when this is finished.] Melissa Reynolds, 29 years old, kidnapped 3 days ago for "reasons unknown." [The words get an air quote.] That's what the police think anyway but it turns out it's because Daddy stole a whole lot of drugs. Luckily for Melissa, those drugs helped get him enough money to buy one of our Actives. Not so lucky for our Active, he'll be going in alone into a situation that I'd be iffy about sending a dozen of them.

[Well, that's one way that Jemma differs from her counterparts in other houses. She knows that. Back when she was teamed up with her last programmer, they'd, he and she together -- well, they'd had a system. They'd had ways of making sure the Actives and their safety were the number one priority without making it look quite so overtly... not entirely client-focused, shall we say. It didn't even occur to her when she started working with Skye instead that it would be odd, how much concern she took.

Now, though, it was a sort of routine of itself. Not quite as polished, but they were figuring it out. Despite the fact that she was still apparently spooking the other woman a bit at times.

She does offer a muttered:] Sorry. [But that's not the main concern, and she's scooting closer to Skye and the computer as the explanation is given.

Of course, it just makes her sigh in return.]

And so you're sending... [With another nod. They technically try not to stereotype their Actives, but some of that does get done.]
