You're at a dinner party. Who is throwing it, or if you're throwing it - that's up to you. These things always, when the wine is flowing, end up dislodging old family grudges, friendship feuds, and sometimes, even general good spirits. There's always a lot to do - so, how are you going to spend your evening?

[ Ami waits quietly, watching her friend prepared to eat the pasta. While she had tasted it herself and found it to be quite enjoyable, she was curious to see first hand how someone else would react to it.

Cooking wasn't something she did often, but when there was time, and a good reason for it, she found it enjoyable. More so when friends were involved and could enjoy the results together. ]

[ Haruka's face is impassive as she chews the pasta; she even looks somewhat reflective and formal, like a fancy food tester for a high-end magazine. (A single rose petal flutters by, as if aware any more might constitute a health hazard in the kitchen.)

She takes her time eating, allowing herself to really sample the flavor, but when she swallows she smiles. ] Not bad. Your talents might be wasted on medicine, kitten.

[ She waits, patiently, watching her friend sample the food she'd worked so hard on. What was the point of doing something only halfway, or good enough. She'd focused entirely on the task, paying attention to all the little details.

Now all she could do was wait.]

You're too kind. I'm glad you enjoy it.

[ Grinning, Haruka heads for the door, twirling her next forkful. ] Are you free to sit?

[ A grin as good. Much better than a scowl, or that fake sort of smile someone might give if they weren't sure how to respond. ]

Sit? O-of course. I'm finished here.

[actsmagnificent]

[ Haruka leads the way out, then, looking for a couple of empty chairs where she can enjoy the rest of her meal at leisure - and with pleasant company. ] Sorry to take up so much of your time.

[ Ami follows through the crowd, careful not to bump into anyone. She's small enough that it's not too difficult. ]

There's nothing to be sorry about. I was finished in the kitchen.

[ The truth was she was a little nervous about stepping out into the party all by herself. Now, that wasn't a problem. ]

I think there's a couple seats near the window.

[ Why, so there are. And that gives them a lovely view of the grounds outside, too. Good eyes!

Haruka remains standing until Ami's seated herself, then casually folds herself into the free chair. ] It's a nice night.

[ If they have this window cracked, she'll even be able to feel the wind... ]
