FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S MEME

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S

During the day, it's a place of joy. But you aren't here during the day. Maybe you've desperate for a bit of cash, and ignored the ominous warning on the newspaper ad. Maybe you've eaten at the pizzaria since you were a child, and thought that taking up a job here can't possibly go wrong. Or maybe you're just playing the game under your bed covers at 2am.

Because seriously, who the fuck would work here for more than one day.

This is a meme based of the new horror game, Five Nights at Freddy's. As you would expect, this is a horror meme. Therefore, warnings for blood, gore, mutilation, and if you're really fucking scared of living dolls and the like you might want to think twice before posting here. A playthrough for the brave, and a small snippet for the faint of heart:

You've been hired as the night guard at a pizzaria called 'Freddy Fazbear's Pizza', and it seems that the animatronics seem to get a bit... quirky at night. On your first day, a phone recording from the previous guards starts to play, and it explains that you can't let the animatronics see you, or they will force you into an animatronic suit. And with all those wires and cogs in an animatronic suit? Yeah, that isn't going to end well.

Unfortunately, you can't just close the doors and pray to whatever deity you believe in. You've got limited power (you know, budget cuts) to make it through from 12am to 6am. Checking security cameras to see where each animatronic is, turning on the hallway lights outside your guardpost, closing the doors- all of these take up power. Use it all up? Black out, and you're left exposed. Good luck surviving that.

The guy on the phone is good at giving you tips, at least-- but these robots don't just seem to be... robots. They only move when you're not looking, and when you are looking, they have a tendency to look straight at the screen. (People who've seen Bonnie at Cam 5 will know how batshit terrifying this is.) And they seem to be... rather intelligent. Wait, did that one just talk?

There's 4 animatronics- Bonnie the purple bunny, Chica the chicken, Foxy the fox and Freddy the bear. Foxy's special, in the sense that it's got a whole area to itself and if you don't watch it enough, it will run down the fucking hallway. Freddy rarely leaves the stage... but he will if you run out of power. Oops.

You've got to balance limited power, limited view and trust that lady luck is on your side-- just to survive to 6am.

Good luck, sport.

Options:

1. FIRST DAY: You and your new co-worker take the job as night security. Maybe you're childhood friends, maybe you're strangers to each other. But when the phone recording starts playing and you both realize this isn't exactly what you two signed up for, you'd better start working together. Fast.

2. OVERTIME: Maybe you're a sucker for the paranormal or you seriously have a death wish, but you haven't quit the job yet. Quite the contrary, in fact. You're working doubly hard. Except tonight, it seems that they're getting more... lively. Hey, did the rabbit just speak--

3. FUCK THIS SHIT: Hell no are you staying cooped up in the guard room. You're going out of there. Maybe you're gonna investigate the back rooms, maybe you're going to find someplace else to hide, or maybe, if you're actually sane, you're going to try finding a way to escape. Still, is that a the music box theme song you hear nearby? Maybe leaving wasn't the best idea...

4. THEY GOT YOU: Uh oh. Well, they're here. Time to say your last words before you get brutally slaughtered by walking talking animatronics.

5. CHECK PIRATE COVE GODDAMMIT: Hiring more than one guard was a mistake, because in the heat of the moment, you're arguing over what to do. Maybe they want you to close the door, but you've only got 20% left and 3 hours to go. Maybe they want to look at another camera. In any case, try to settle this dispute fast, or something else is going to do it for you.

6. WHY IS IT DARK: Oops, out of power. Quick, play dead!

7. JUST PLAYING THE GAME: You're not actually stuck in a life-or-death situation. You're just playing it on your computer. It's still fucking terrifying, though.

8. YOU CAN'T CONTROL ME: Or make your own prompts!

[That...makes sense. Were they aware during the day? Did they know how many children came there to play? If they weren't, seeing someone Ib's size would throw them off but if they were, it meant they made a conscious choice to not attack the children. Either way, Ib wouldn't fit in with their usual plan.

But they didn't know if that meant she was safe or not and even if they did, they did know Garry wasn't safe. That wasn't good enough.]

Do you think it will be enough to keep them away?

[She'd like to think so but it feels better not to depend on it.]

It should for a little while, I would think. They won't go just rushing in if there's something they aren't expecting.

[At least, they won't if they operate on normal logic. Garry tries to think back to the only strange experience he has to rely on. Even that strange place... It relied on some sort of logic even if it was a new one they had to learn to understand. Surely these, too, followed some sort of ruleset?]

[It's while he's lost in thought does the screen suddenly fill with static before it goes utterly black. Garry gives a jump.]

What happened!? Why did the camera suddenly stop working? [Worried, he checks another camera, the one on the stage. No, that seems to be working fine... So just the one?]

[Riddles, roses, paintings that lied, paintings that moved, blonde girls who wanted friends, a lot of it had been so confusing at the time but they had figured it out and they'd survived. So, they would figure this out too, they'd make it till morning and neither of them ever had to come back.

Would anybody believe them? It wasn't like either of them had been able to talk about the gallery to anybody but each other.

Seeing the camera go out, she quickly slides off her chair and goes to press first one button and then another. Nothing there.]

What camera was it?
artificialrose: (dojicons) (That doesn't help it make any more)

It was the one that was watching the bunny. I suppose there are plenty of reasons why it might go off on its own....

[But the uneasy way he says it betrays his own thoughts. Could they even turn off the cameras? That wasn't good... Not able to stay still anymore, Garry gets up after turning off the screen and goes to stand guard by the other door. At least it can let him stretch his legs.]

Well, as long as it's just the bunny out there, we shouldn't have to worry too much. If... it just stays back there, then everything will be fine.

[Her head shakes. They both knew the truth, even if he tried to protect her from it. She hadn't survived their last nightmare by waiting and hoping nothing bad would happen and they wouldn't survive this one that way, either.

She wouldn't pretend nothing bad was happening but she was optimistic enough to think they really would be okay. It was a strange mix of childish optimism and adult like clarity.]

It turned the camera off so we can't watch it. That means it's going to do something.

[Even now, her voice is level, calm.]

As long as we're watching both doors, then we'll be able to stop whatever it tries.

[At least, that's what he hopes.]

[Regardless, he can't feel any sort of reassurance being so close to the doorway like this, just waiting for something to happen. The darkness feels nearly impenetrable- how can those things see with this lack of light?]

They're really big and heavy... If any of them come, we should be able to hear them.

[That does make a lot of sense but waiting is hard. Even back then, they'd kept moving forward, looking for a way out. That felt productive, if scary, and she knew that if they hadn't, they never would have made it out.

But she supposed this was different. Now, instead of a place, they were trying to reach a time. If they could make it until 6:00, things would be okay. There was still the problem with her parents but they had to make it out before they could do anything about it.

She wondered if they were connected. Trying to say quiet so they can hear, she decides to ask as it's weighing on her mind.]

Is this the same as everyone disappearing in the gallery? [She'd thought her parents had left her then, too.]

[The question and the thoughts it bring bring a look of surprise onto Garry's face. Soon enough, however, he's thinking.]

[It was a good question... After all, nothing ever said that the art gallery or Guertena's pieces were the only things which could make the world change or transport people to other worlds or whatever else on earth exactly happened back there. If there was one, then of course there might be other places. If so, they'd just had the bad luck to stumble into another one... or into other things.]

[Guertena's art, and now what connected it and somewhere like Freddy Fazbear's Pizza? He suppose he could figure out the exact thing later. What mattered right now was really just getting through the night.]

It might be. When I first came in, I was told that everyone needed to be out by a certain time but I didn't think much of it then. It seemed like a normal thing...
galleryblooms: (A little sad)

[personal profile] galleryblooms 2014-08-25 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[When Ib had gotten back to the gallery, nobody had acted like anything had happened. It had been disconcerting, that she had just been through that nightmare and yet things went on like it was normal. At first, Garry didn't even remember her, might not have if not for the handkerchief.

Which she still felt bad about. If he didn't remember her, he didn't remember what all he had to go through, too. She'd been sad at first and a little worried when he didn't seem to recognize her, since it brought up a lot of things she frankly didn't understand and in all honesty, she hadn't wanted to live with that stuff alone. Still, even with that, she wouldn't have willingly brought those memories back, even if it had meant losing her friend.

And she'd never said she was sorry for it, either. Now's probably not the time but she looks at him for a moment, hand still ready to hit the door, before nodding. She'd say it later.]

Then they knew?
artificialrose: (snarfles) (Lets just not get arrested.)

[personal profile] artificialrose 2014-08-25 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I... imagine they must have.

[It's an unpleasant thought, that someone would know about something like this but still willingly hire someone for a night shift. What could they be thinking? Was there something that he just didn't know, or could someone really be that horrible?]
galleryblooms: (A little sad)

[personal profile] galleryblooms 2014-08-26 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
They didn't tell you.

[There's more of an active frown now. That bothered her, confused her, that somebody would willingly put someone in this situation. The paintings in the museum had been sad; this was mean.

But if this happened more than once, how did nobody get in trouble?]
artificialrose: (snarfles) (New rule: you aren't allowed anything)

[personal profile] artificialrose 2014-08-26 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's just like that message left on the phone said- this is the first I've heard of any of this.

[Which is an outright mystery to him. With how much people leap onto the idea of paranormal or strange things, how could no one hear of evil robots at a pizza place? Goodness knew he'd heard of stranger things, right? Maybe it was almost like having memories wiped- no, because then how could management know?]

[Garry heaves out a sigh.]

There's no helping it now that we're already here... We'll just have to be patient and persevere.
