1. Friendly hug - this person is your good pal, and you just wanna give them a fond squeeze to let them know.

 

2. Romantic hug - you just want to be closer, so wrap your arms around them, maybe rub their back some...

 

3. Bear hug - maybe you haven't seen them in a while, so how about a giant hug that lifts them off their feet

 

4. Hug from behind - surprise them, guess who?! or maybe they're having a bad day, cheer them up.

 

5. Awkward hug - maybe it's on accident, but whatever the case is, you can't help but feel a little nervous about hugging them.

 

6. Reluctant hug - whoever this person is, you have to hug them, better make it quick!

 

7. "I'm sorry!" hug - actions speak louder than words, will this person get the message?

 

8. Give a little extra hug - give them a kiss with it, cheek, shoulder nuzzle, whatever - but let the hug linger a little!

 

9. Don't WANT a hug - make them see sense! Cling, and don't let go for anything oohcookiegimme! - if you're the hugged, try to get loose. Or maybe you'll give in!

 

10. Random or other kind of hug - pick the choice you like best, or make up your own!

It's not just you, though. Even without the telepathy, it's like you can all read each other. Know what needs to be done.

How do you do it?

Well... the team was already close by the time I joined it, they were already linked up and training together for awhile before I got here. It's a battle skill, reading people. It takes a long time to learn, we can't all be like Conner and have it programmed into us.

[She's quiet for a moment before giving Zatanna another squeeze, but this time she keeps her tight hold on her.]

[Artemis sighs and leans her chin on Zatanna's shoulder again. She does have a tell, and for once, letting someone in on it won't get her killed or punished. It's still weird to tell someone your weaknesses though, so her voice is very quiet.]

I lead with my left foot too much. Keep your eyes on my feet and you'll always know where I'm going.

[Zatanna can tell just by her tone that this was something both personal and difficult for her. So she remains quiet, listening carefully.]

...my eyes always give me away. I have a habit of watching before I leap a little too obviously.

[It was especially embarrassing, considering she was supposed to be a complete mystery on the stage. A tell for a tell.]

[It's almost painful to admit this kind of stuff after having it drilled into you that secrets keep you alive. In the end, telling the truth might be the hard part, not keeping it all bottled up.]

You're lucky, actually. We learn early on that in a fight you should never trust someone's eyes, they always mislead you. It's body language, especially in the chest, that you watch for.

Well, by we I mean us fighting types. It's one of the first things anyone learns in hand to hand contact.

[She's a bit on the defensive right now, so she takes that the wrong way and drops her hands from Zatanna's shoulders so she can cross her arms over her chest.]

[WIth the sudden warmth gone, Zatanna turns around. Her expression reads both surprise and guilt.]

I didn't mean it like that, Artemis.

[The defensive lasts for a bit longer before Artemis sighs and drops her arms, raking one hand through her hair in frustration.]

Sorry. Habit. I haven't shared this kind of stuff with anyone else.

[There's a pause, and then Artemis rolls her eyes and holds out one arm, a clear offer for Zatanna to come get more hugs.]
