[It's impossible to ignore how hot the robot feels--it's like being given first aid by a furnace. But right now, it's a welcome feeling. He's cold...

The ambulance had better get here soon.]

Can you... [He makes a small noise of pain.] ...reach anywhere you like? What's your range?

[Hopefully the ambulance isn't too far away. The emergency operator said it was on its way, but couldn't tell him where it was coming from or how long it would take.]

I...I don't know. At least a few miles? I haven't actually tried to reach my maximum range...and I get yelled at if I do more than a few blocks.

...I see. [Everything's starting to seem distant... dammit. He can't die here, lying in his own blood and unable to stop himself from fading away... it's just a really stupid way to die.]

Did... your parents give you that limit? ['Rory's' parents. His parents. If this was the last time he could find out about them... he managed to move one hand so it was touching his double's leg, trying to ground himself, give himself something real to hang onto.] Tell me about them, please?

Kotetsu's the one who enforces that, actually, though they don't like me overexerting myself either.

[He's a little surprised by the hand on his leg, and he flinches. His human double wanted him to talk about his (their?) parents? That wasn't something he expected to be asked...but he was more than happy to comply.]

Sure...where do I start? [He hums.] They're dedicated. They won't compromise their ethics, and they won't work with people who do. They've fired employees, canceled contracts and broken ties with investors over it a couple times.

He smiles faintly at what his double is saying.]

I'm not surprised. [That's what got them killed by Maverick, after all.] But I'm... happy, to hear they're holding to their values.
