Being with someone can change your life. But what if you can't have your old life back? For your own sake, the sake of your relationship, or by no choice of your own, you have to leave the old you behind. It can go from anything to changing a behavior to changing your whole identity, and all of it can be difficult. One thing is clear, however; to continue where or as you'd lived before is not an option if you want to keep this person you care for in your life.
how to play;
- Comment with your character and preferences.
- Respond to others.
- THERE WILL BE QUESTIONABLE CONTENT. Just because it's a shipping meme doesn't means everything's fluffy; in fact, more options than not have some unfortunate implications.
prompts;
- Open Secret: You two have never specifically said who you are in this new place, though you've never denied it.
- Witness Protection: To protect your lives, you must live under assumed identities.
- Your Real Life: What you knew before was false. This is the actuality.
- After a Tragedy: All your friends are dead. Your group is shaken. You saw someone you love murdered. The only other person you have left is the one you're with.
- Second Chance at Life: After a brush with death, you've decided to do things right and actually live.
- I Don't Want this Life, Dean: You don't want to continue in the family business - er, in your old ways set up by someone else, so you cling to someone who can give you a normal life.
- Criminal: You did a bad thing and are wanted. For your protection and the safety of the one you lo...that person, you have to hide.
- Turning Over a New Leaf: You're genuinely trying to become a better person and you can't do that with the reminders of your old home and old life.
- Rehabilitation: Your lover is helping you get over your wounds, your traumas, or your flaws.
- Blank Slate: You have to have a new life because you don't know your old one! All you know is the person you're with and the things they can tell you.
- Partners in Crime: You two are rough around the edges, but you're reformed. Really, you just want a peaceful life!
- Old Habits Die Hard: No matter what your life is now, you can't shake the need to double check the locks or hold your magic wand tight.
- Guilt: You're guilty about your relationship, so you have to reside in hiding.
- Through Elicit Means: You got with your partner through cheating and you want to keep that fact on the low.
- Stolen Away: You stole your partner - from a bad situation or from someone cruel - so you have to keep your heads down
- Taboo:
- Incest: It's better for you to live where no one know's you're related.
- Age Difference: You can always fake IDs and birth certificates.
- Interspecies: There has to be somewhere that doesn't have the prejudices of your home.
- Tyrannical Government: You're political enemies drawn together. Perhaps you're working to undermine the government, or maybe you've escaped from that place and are living in peace.
- Pulled from the Darkness: Your previous life was so terrible, you don't want to even ponder it any more. End of story, it doesn't matter.
- Dependent: You don't know anyone else in this new world of yours, or you don't know how to navigate it, making you dependent on your partner.
- Protecting Them: You're with them and hiding them for their own benefit.
- They Don't About Your Past:
- Secret Monster: If they knew about who you used to be, they'd be disgusted and want nothing to do with you.
- For Them: You're dangerous to be around, so you can't clue them in lest an old enemy or your own abilities come back and harm them.
- Florence Nightingale: They found you and took you in to help you, no questions asked. You couldn't help but fall for them.
- Using Them: This new life is just a sham. You want them to be your camouflage, maybe even getting others to believe you've changed.
- Faked Turned Real:
Both of you were using each other for cover, but now...you're not sure.- Brainwashing:
- One-Sided: You love them and want them to believe that things have always been like this. Can you be blamed for going about it this way?
- Mutual: Both of you think you've always lived this life, thanks to outside forces.
- Who Am I, Really?: You love your partner, but you feel like you're losing yourself.

Listen, you got in the jeep all on your own. I didn't chloroform you and toss you in. This doesn't count as kidnapping. [But Stiles is still avoiding his eyes at the moment.]
We're not going back. We're going away. Far away. As far as San Francisco.
no subject
[He gives Stiles a knowing look. See? He pays attention when you tell him things. Not that he would ever in a billion years try to get Stiles into trouble of any kind, let alone for kidnapping.]
Stiles. We can't just leave Beacon Hills, man. What about your dad? And my mom? And like...Lydia? Kira? Malia? Derek?
no subject
[Stiles is still hoping he'll be able to convince him this is a good idea, so he's ignoring Scott's logic for now.]
Our parents are human and aren't actually in any danger. As for the others, I was thinking maybe we could talk them into coming to San Fransisco too.
no subject
Okay, but Beacon Hills? It's always dangerous. And what if whoever these assassins are decides to try and draw us back by like, taking hostages?
no subject
[Okay, so maybe that won't be as easy as Stiles makes it sound. In fact, he's pretty sure he's going to be grounded the moment his dad finds out what he did.]
no subject
Stiles, we can't just run.
no subject
Why not? Aren't you sick of this? Aren't you sick of always having your life in danger?
no subject
Yeah, man, of course. But...our entire lives are in Beacon Hills. And people are in danger and they need our help. I'm not just talking about the pack.
no subject
Okay, I know. You're right. We have to go back. But... does it really have to be right now? Can't we have just one day without all the bullshit and danger and angry baby betas?
no subject
Yeah. I think we can have one day without all of that.
[He hopes anyway.]
no subject
Good, so then San Francisco? Or we could just find a motel around here, maybe get lunch and relax for the rest of the day?
no subject
Yeah, either one is fine with me. But...we should probably at least text our parents and let them know we're okay.
no subject
Wait, where are we going to tell them we are? They think we're seeing a movie.
no subject
[He smirks at Stiles and shakes his head.] I'm going with the truth. Mostly. I'm just gonna tell my mom we needed a short break from Beacon Hills. She'll probably be glad.
no subject
[Stiles glances over at him.] Don't tell her about the kidnapping thing. It'd be cool if my boyfriend's mom didn't start hating me for abducting her son.
no subject
[He pauses.]
And seriously...there's no way my mom could ever hate you.
no subject
[Stiles gives him a smile.]
I know. But I've been trying to make a better impression on your parents since we started dating. I even had dinner with your dad that one time. [Okay, that was actually Derek's fault, but whatever.]
no subject
Yeah, I know you did. Still sorry about that, by the way.
no subject
It was the weirdest dinner of my life. By the way, you can't keep blowing off dinner with your dad.
no subject
Yeah. I know. It's just not high on my priority list on a good day, let alone when there are supernatural assassins running around trying to kill all of us.
no subject
Okay, next time you're supposed to eat with him, do it. Let the rest of us handle the supernatural assassins for one night. You deserve a break from that once in a while and as much as I hate to admit it, your dad seems to be trying.
no subject
Well, next time is supposed to be tomorrow.
no subject
Good. Then have dinner with him, talk, bond, do whatever it is you guys are trying to do with these dinners.
no subject
I don't even know what to say to him. You know? It's not like there's much I can actually tell him about...anything. I could tell him the truth, I guess. It'd probably send him running back to San Diego before we finish eating. [His voice is wry.]
no subject
You don't have to tell him about werewolves if you're not ready or if you don't think he'll handle it well. There's other things you could talk about. Lacrosse, school, friends.
