You may have been thrown into a TV at some point, but your memory is a bit hazy about the exact circumstances surrounding you, this fog, and whoever else you might bump into.

[It's bad enough that he's lost track of time for how long he's been wandering. After meandering streets and wildlife for several hours, he almost wishes for something different to pop up beyond this one-way street and obscurity.

[Of course, he might have spoken a bit too soon when he finds himself unwittingly stalked by the shuffling of footsteps. That certainly doesn't make him feel any less paranoid than he already does, constantly checking over his shoulder and his surroundings as often as humanly possible.

[The sounds of more footsteps lurking out there aren't much comfort, either. Even while brandishing a fire axe, he partially feels somewhat defenseless, out here like this.]

[Yeah, well, tell that to this guy. After hours of foggy streets only filled with glimpses of his brother and... monsters, he's sick of the fog. It's like a corn maze -- except this isn't a game.

So don't blame him if he doesn't get too hopeful when he thinks he hears footsteps. Real footsteps, he thinks, not some monster shuffling his way. Alex stops, listening, dim flashlight pointed in the direction of the noise and he still can't see.

There is probably an urban legend about some axe murder that kills people in the fog.

Yes, there probably is. And that legend must be true. How else can one explain the woman all in black with glowing blue lenses set in her gas mask. The way she steps quietly over the brambles and things that would try to catch at the leather of her coat. The heavy machete at her side and the other tools she carries- for surgical reasons, of course. And maybe she isn't trying to creep all up on her superior.]
