THE DARK AU MEME


One thing or another went awry, and your character is no longer on the side of the angels. Whether it's through brainwashing, a loss of faith, or just plain wickedness, the draw of the dark has proved much stronger than the call of good.

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1. Post with your character's name and fandom in the subject line! If you already have a dark AU for this character, this would also be a good place to link to any information about it.
2. Look around to find other awesome people who have also posted!
3. Pick a scenario or head over to the RNG to have one picked for you!
4. Tag them!

S C E N A R I O S

1. Interrogation - someone from the other side has been captured and brought back, and it's up to you to get them to spill. Maybe you're just the best person for the job, or maybe they're somebody that you used to know. Either way, it all depends on you making them talk.
2. Reconnaissance - you're deep behind enemy lines now, keeping your eyes and ears open for anything useful you might come across. Take care you don't get caught.
3. Double Agent - maybe you're still secretly good but you're in deep with the baddies, or maybe you've never relinquished your inner wickedness but you've convinced the good guys you've changed. Make sure no one finds out your real intentions.
4. Brainwashed - whether through hypnosis or deceit, you've been convinced this is the side for you. But here's someone from your old life - maybe they can talk you out of it?
5. Defection - "I've been a fool!" You've seen the light and you're coming over to the good guys ... but is your contrition genuine?
6. Kidnapped - Either due to a mistake or the cleverness of the other side, you've ended up in their clutches. Just pray they don't have truth serum ...
7. Showdown - It's the final face-off. You against your arch-enemy. Only one of you can walk away from this, and you're determined that it's going to be you.
8. Punishment - you've fucked up. Maybe valuable information was lost or you let someone important get away. No matter what it was, it could mean defeat, and it's time to pay the piper.
9. Victory - You've won! The other side has been completely subjugated and you're planting your flag in their headquarters. Sounds like a chance for a celebration.
10. Defeat - ...or not. Everything went wrong and you've found yourself begging for mercy from the people you tried to kill. Hopefully they'll be more merciful than you would have been ...
11. Pick Your Own - combine, make up your own, have fun!

[ If there's a list of werewolves who shouldn't ever be allowed to serve in diplomatic functions, surely Peter is among the top ten. Top twenty, at least. But the fact is, he's comfortable with people, perfectly happy to use words and not growls/frowns/intimidation to communicate, good at interpreting body language, reasonably intelligent ... and if those who would ordinarily meet with an enthusiastic young druid researcher are otherwise occupied, and the alternatives few, then Peter will have to do. It's been impressed on him how he should not find a way to fuck this up. This is one time he's actually inclined to listen; he has to behave at least some of the time, so that other indiscretions go unnoticed or dismissed.

The bywords for the location of the meeting are "public" and "semi-secluded." Discussing werewolf lore and ancient spells at Starbucks is not really an option. So instead, they're supposed to meet at a well-maintained public park which turns into extensive woods on one side. Peter chooses a shaded picnic area near to the trees.

The researcher is late and though he lounges in apparent relaxation with a hideously expensive iced drink, he's already starting to feel like he's missed something. That one or more of the tiny off things he came across today are more significant than he thought. Or is it paranoia? He'll wait a little longer -- or should he? Damnit. ]

[Issues with sleeping. Tears on a table between them. Coming around to the "Will's playing a game" part of the equation the moment she saw Freddie Lounds. It all fit so well. Hannibal Lecter had been believable once, as both Will's friend (or whatever it might be called, that f-word being so foreign to him) and a steady rock for plenty of people around him. Will knew damn well that there were fake tears about him behind the scenes, despite how he acted or looked at Will whenever he came by for a visit.

It was all very believable. Unfortunate for everyone involved that Will didn't believe any of it.

A warrant for his arrest. Him and Jack. Nothing about Lecter. Instead of making that call, he wonders what will happen if he makes his way to Alana Bloom's house. What he'll find. What happens if he gets a taxi (he can't drive, that would get him caught in a flash) and breathes not a single word of it. Nothing can stop Jack, but nothing can stop smoke, either. And right now, nothing can stop Will from getting out of the taxi the same moment Alana Bloom comes out of her house with luggage.

Luggage.

We could leave. We. Lecter and Will were the we. The us. The them. Weren't they? Was there another party in this we he hadn't realized? That Lecter's already realized Will's lack of involvement in any we isn't something Will is aware of. Alana is aware of something he's not, either. He's just not exactly sure what.

Had they cooked together like Lecter and Will eventually had?

No one could be what they seemed, apparently.]

Need some help with that? [For as confused as he is, his voice is strong, freshly dried pavement instead of cheap gravel. No shaking hand as he reaches for her luggage. Eye contact if she'd hold it. Confused. Not afraid. She changed what she thought of him because he sent someone to kill Lecter. Was that...a good change?] Didn't think you were the one who'd need to get out of Dodge.

[Runner 5 really screwed the pooch on this one. He couldn't save Maxine when it counted. Hell, he couldn't even save himself. Not from Van Ark and his soldiers and his needles and... Simon. God, how could anyone at Abel not see Runner 3 for the snake he was? Too bad there's no way to radio Abel or New Canton.]

[Too bad nobody's going to be able to find 5. Not where Van Ark's hidden him. Not in the heart of enemy territory. Not like this. Not when he's dead (or worse, a zom). There's no escaping it.]

[Van Ark's been putting 5 through the wringer as of late, but it's stopped for today. The Runner is slumped wearily over the control console of a treadmill, face unusually gaunt and washed-out. He's had no sleep. No food. Barely enough water to replace what he's sweated out. Van Ark's probably going to torture him to death first.]

[Simon's arrival gets almost no response. Just the slightest lifting of the head and a muffled groan of protest. 5 doesn't bother trying to conceal his exhaustion; no doubt Simon knows all about it from his new boss. (And somewhere inside, 5 is hurt beyond words at his friend's betrayal.]

I have this mutant, she has DID, and could be working as a sort of sourced out hitter for the Clairvoyant, maybe he captures her. She has reinforced strength, and can take a lot of pain and such.
