Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... HOW TO PLAY: Comment with your character, your prefs, etc. If there are other grooming-related practices or kinks you'd like to include, like shaving, hair washing, mention them! [ works for me, i'm one of those rpers who plays movie canon only and hasn't read much of the comics, so that's totally fine with me. ]

There's someone casing her apartment when she gets there, and another outside her backup safe house two neighborhoods away. She could go to Clint's place but it's on the other side of the city; she could go to Avengers Tower but it's too public, and anyway she doesn't want to deal with the others right now. Not after a rough mission that's left her saturated with weariness down to her marrow. The package she recovered is secure in the lining of her jacket and she'll rendezvous with Maria in the morning to deliver it, but for now she needs someplace to lie low.

So she breaks into his apartment instead - pries open the latch on the window, disables the tripwire and slips in from the fire escape. It's dark inside, empty - clearly he's out - so she shuts up behind her and pads to the bathroom in the dark to get clean. She doesn't turn the light on in there until she's closed the door behind her, and once the bath is full she settles in with her jacket and gun within easy reach. ]

[ he's not out, this time - just holed up in the corner of his bedroom dozing off, all the lights out and doors locked for his own reasons. he sleeps lighter nowadays, still apprehensive of the nightmares that tend to plague his sleep but they've been a little less frequent as of late. still, it's difficult to get a proper eight hours in anymore, and the slightest disturbance wakes him up instantly. the sound isn't loud enough to be a drunk neighbour trying to bash his way in (again) so it's immediately a concern. someone's trying to get in, and be sneaky about it. whatever they want with him or his stuff, they could at least pick a more decent hour to do it in. he doesn't look all that threatening in sleep pants and a Chococat sleeveless.

(it's not as if he expects company today.)

still, he's on the alert as he carefully makes his way down the hall as quietly as he can - and it's the sound of running water that surprises him. he pauses, waits there until the water shuts off, and advances again until he's standing on the other side of the bathroom door. okay, breaking into his apartment to use his bathroom is ... weird, but it hardly seems threatening at least. he still braces himself for anything as he knocks on the door, idly hoping he won't have to explain to Steve that someone broke in while he was having a late night nap. ]
