it might have just been a practice match, but karasuno sure likes to lose, huh? oikawa is looking out the window, a bit exhausted after seeing off so many girls and being hit on, seeing this little brat staring at the sky while the rest of his shitty team is inside, and of course oikawa is a little curious.

[There really wasn't much to talk about when neither of them were on their bikes. However, with the excuse of a little exhaustion from biking up the tallest slope available in Hakone late at night, it was easier to say they were simply too tired to talk. Regardless of how socially inept the two could be in more friendlier settings, Onoda was only glad to share his first meteor shower sighting in the company of a friend. The tip of the mountain was grassy, a little breezy, and there were few others there who had traveled by car to watch the meteor shower. This was likely the best viewing point in the district.

Catching their breath, Onoda and Manami agreed to lay out their bikes onto the grass and wait for the meteor shower to begin. It had been Manami's idea to go; the melon buns and vanilla wafer cookies had been Onoda's mom's idea. She almost had him cart a lunch with him, had he not reminded her that his road racer had no basket, unlike his utility bike from his Days of Biking Yore. They could drink their waters just as well.

Onoda gives a little gasp before grasping at Manami's upper arm with both hands, looking wide-eyed up to the midnight-blue sheet of the sky.]

Manami-kun! [Then he points to what looks like a gliding star.] Do you see it?! It's starting!

Even hardcore scientists need a break from time to time. It's unfortunately true, but Newt knows all too well just how much of a pain in the ass it is to get burned out. Besides, the comet is tonight! Hong Kong has so much light pollution, true. It's probably not going to be a spectacular view. BUT. But but but. This comet zooming by is a once in a lifetime sort of deal. Even a speck is enough to tell your grandkids about seeing it.

He'd expect maybe a few people who knew and have the time to be on the roof. Totally wasn't expecting Chuck Hansen in the exact spot Newt wanted. Chances of him there to stare at some stars? Probably zero.

Carlos could apparently only take so many (probably rhetorical) questions and musings about the moon before he'd packed his boyfriend into his smart little hybrid car, chucked a telescope in the back seat and driven him out into the empty black desert under a full moon to get a better look at the thing. Sure he had also packed a blanket and some picnic stuff but this was first and foremost a Scientific Expedition.

The clearing was much prettier. The woman looks as is misplaced from a different time; her clothing too different, as where the weapons that hung on her hip. The cherry of her cigarette stained her neatly painted face with thick red velvet light as she sucked the filter. Her gaze remained skyward as she exhaled plumes of tarnished silver.]

It's funny... I remember when they used to mean something.
