ferris wheel of love

You've found yourself at an amusement park, and suddenly-- someone is guiding you towards a line. For whatever reason, you and someone else (possibly even a stranger you never met) are buddies for the ferris wheel. Whatever, it's just a short ride, right?

Except this Ferris wheel is magic. Towards the top you'll feel like getting close, and definitely like a power has overcome you. By all means, feel free to struggle, but once you get to the top it'll slow to a crawl. You two are going to kiss according to the powers that be, no ifs, ands, or buts.

This meme also doubles as an amusement park meme once you get off that awful ride! How about that? Now go have a magical night.

Vampires do that now?

[ The last she heard they sparkled like diamonds... which only made her wonder a bit too loudly if Emma Frost was a vampire near her test tube clone babies and set them off. Mutant bullying, it's a thing that does happen. ]

... sheesh, if traveling through time isn't the weirdest thing you've heard, I'm almost afraid to ask.

You'd be surprised how much the truth is stranger than fiction! Personally, I'd rather not get too much into that kind of detail unless its absolutely necessary... and by absolutely necessary, I mean visiting some crack pot conspiracy theorists just to get answers. Not a fun thing to do, trust me.

And good! Because it's kind of a mind blowing thing when you actually see them in person... some of them not so much, but only until then you realize you really don't have much people to discuss that sort of thing since really... who's gonna believe...

[Let's take a trip down memory lane. Having to deal with some ancient deity trying to destroy humanity only to be saved by three people with powers based off of japanese mythology. Or the fact that a massive clone army had sprung up that would cause mass riots and the organization involved shot a death ray from above obliterating an entire city. Learning that aliens from different worlds are invading and covering it up with an "official" fighting tournament. Aaaaand the part where you discover that some crime lord can never die even when he's killed by falling off of a giant skyscraper... well, technically is dead, but somehow is alive as a physical ghost but can still wreck shit. And speaking of ghosts, having to deal with one that can possess people to the point of physically altering the host. That last part happening to him, at that. Last but not least, trying to solve the mystery of why nobody is able to physically age even after years go by. Some people are forever 16 apparently.]

... about something pretty unlikely to the average joe's life? Eeeh, besides. This isn't exactly ideal conversational stuff when riding on a ride like this... why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself, hm? I see you seem to be pretty and pretty free yourself, "ma'am".

[ Don't mind her taking in all of those memories for herself. It isn't that she wants to, but he's not giving her much of a choice here by dropping those juicy comments without any sustenance to back them up.

... Aliens are really a pain in the ass.
]

Isn't the point of the Guardians of Galaxy to keep aliens from doing that kind of crap? Sheesh, you think they would do the job they've taken up on themselves in that case.

[ She's not talking about herself clearly. ] Please don't call me ma'am, that's old--and I'm not old. I don't live long enough to be considered old.

The Guardians of the what now? Sorry, not familiar with that kind of organization or theorist group or... whatever its supposed to be. Either way, I mainly focus on the things that happens in the town I'm in.

Other worldly issues only matter if I'm told to look into it. Besides that? I'm enjoying my time off while it lasts.

[And he notices that too, so he'll be placing a hand on top of her head to ruffle up her hair.] Well if you've got buddies living around since the early 70's, that kind of makes that argument kind of invalid. But I suppose I could do that for ya if you start telling me a little more about yourself. I could do with any plans you've got after this ride is over.

My plans?

I was probably going to return to the school after this. Public places aren't really my favorite place to be even if it helps with my training. After a while, it's a pretty big headache.

[ At least she's honest as her legs swing back and forth off the seat of the ride, relaxing a bit. ]

Even up here I can hear them all.

Sensitive hearing, huh? I can get that... every once in a while, I can't deal with bright lights myself so it gets to become a headache to be out in public for so long. But I'm a big brother, so I just gotta tough this one out.

[Well, at least she seems to be enjoying herself now. Or looks that way, anyway. He'll rummage through his inner coat pocket for some earplugs though.]

I probably have something on me to give you a hand. Aspirin at the very least, I think. No need to get sick when you're at this height, you know? Ever had motion sickness before? That is the absolute worst, I tell you.

Yeah, sensitive hearing… [ Jeannie’s going to go with that in favor of not freaking out the stranger in the cart beside her. ]

No, but once I levitated myself in the air because I was so angry. That kind of made me sick, but I think I was mostly sick from being upset more than anything else.
