The Trapped Meme

You are now trapped somewhere and there's no immediate escape occurring. What now? I'd add more loving flavor text, but I figure we've all been there. We've all sat around wishing that we could just...leave, but we couldn't for some reason or another. So let's just cut to the chase.

  2. In an airport because your plane got delayed for three hours!

  4. In a boat or some similar vehicle - a plane, an airship, a living island, a spaceship - in which getting out means that you'll probably die.
  
  5. In some obligation like a boring party, a class, or a meeting, and your only hope for some scant entertainment is some clandestine texting or someone being cooler than they first appear.
  
  6. Or something else.

[ He's become a master of manipulating the darkness to suit his needs. The all enveloping inkiness is an excellent cover, especially in the alleys of the city, allowing John Blake — The Dark Knight, for all intents and purposes — to follow through with his stakeout and avoid a serious incident entirely while apprehending some drug traffickers. Fortunately, it's another couple thugs off the street. Unfortunately, it doesn't give the Batman the leads he's hoping to gain, only the location of a warehouse on the other side of town that might be worth checking out.

Crime's been on the rise lately, specifically violent crime, and there doesn't seem to be any real connection to the lingering mob families. In fact, something's got all of them running scared, not unlike the rest of the underground. And this time, it's not the Batman's name lingering on their lips. Problem is, no name's replaced that of the Caped Crusader, only a description of earthbound devil with black eyes.

Ultimately, it leads John to the docks, to a warehouse where vermin's known to gather. He's not dumb enough to do his recon in the suit — he doesn't need people running scared before he can gather information — so he shows dressed as a dock worker, in layered clothes meant to conceal listening devices and scanning equipment. Just a regular joe looking for some work, right?

Of course, that doesn't feel like quite the disguise when he finds himself stepping into a darkened warehouse, mostly abandoned, and almost entirely locked down, save for the door he's just walked in, and a couple windows that would be hell to reach from the ground. ]

So much for human resources...

[ But hey, this is an excellent opportunity to turn on his heel and leave, right? ]

[ Answer this: How easy do one mountain-loving road racing fanatic and a volleyball enthusiast get lost in said road racing fanatic's backyard?

The answer is way, way too easy.

Searching for a place with a nice sunset sighting spot isn't that difficult, but Manami was aiming for the best to impress his strange new friend. It should be easy to find, what with the mountain being his playground and all, but this isn't one of the spot Manami visits often, as one needs to push their bike to get through the grass field and go pass some bushes. And why would you ever do that? Why would you get off of your bicycle just to see a sunset?! He's making this exception today, and seeing how they keep returning to the same spot over and over again, the exception is exclusive only for today.

Manami just sort of hangs around lazily while pushing his bike, looking around from his place helpfully as he lifts an arm to feel the air around him. Despite their situation, he doesn't seem all that alarmed or tired, only looking slightly (slightly) pensive while quietly hoping the lack of wind and the increase in humidity isn't one of the signs for rain. ]

We're so lost.

[She taps her fingers against the wheel, irritably, as the car in front of her grinds to a halt. Again. The light had left them a few miles back, and they weren't getting anywhere fast. They certainly weren't going to make it back to Beacon Hills tonight, that much was for sure. At this point, all she wanted to do was pull off at the next exit and find a motel or something to crash at for the night, and finish the rest of their drive tomorrow. But that was probably an age away, considering how slowly the traffic was moving.

She shifted the Jeep into park, and pulled her phone from her pocket, where it informed her that it was down to the last few scraps of battery. It'd die long before they made it anywhere useful. She shoved it back into her pocket, barely resisting the urge to rest her head against the steering wheel. This was the last time she let Scott talk her into taking Derek with her to pick up some books they needed for research a few towns over. It should have been a milk run, but nothing was ever simple with a Hale involved.]

Of all the places in all the world, this is where they got stuck. An elevator. An honest to God elevator. One that no matter how much he slashed against it, refused to open. You know, for all the complaints he'd had and all his suffering to get them, he did actually kind of miss the adamantium in perspective. At least he could of ripped the door off and forced his way out. Bone just didn't have the same power, considerably more underwhelming.

At least the lights were on. And there was no annoying music playing. There was a chance that eventually someone would come soon enough too. He slammed the emergency alarm like ten times. It wasn't that he didn't want to be here, he just -- actually, no, that was about right. He didn't want to be stuck here.

Logan just didn't fancy being stranded with Chuck in an elevator for the rest of the night.]

[Truthfully, when he first finds himself back in his old room at the manor in Keterburg, Peony is quite certain that he's taken an impromptu nap and is dreaming. He dreams about being back there fairly often after all, so it wouldn't be strange in the least. Though he doesn't usually dream about right after he moved. That his room is still fairly neat and tidy with all his toys packed into a chest would indicate that's the case, he certainly never let that stand for long.]

Well this is all wrong, [he says to himself, opening the toy chest and starting to lay things out "correctly". Deeply concentrated on his task, he doesn't notice that there's a boy on the bed in the room. Why would there be, after all? He's right here.]

“Oh, let’s approach them diplomatically, you said.” Anakin said flatly as he stared up at their current, many-teethed-and-clawed challenge.

His arms were spread and pulled high above his head by energy cuffs connected to the restraint framework from which he was suspended. His legs were similarly secured closer to the ground. His back was to Obi-Wan, but he could feel his former Master behind him through the Force, he could tell Obi-Wan was just as ‘tied-down’ and weaponless as he was.

They were Jedi. They were supposed to be better than this.

‘This’ being captured by Trandoshans and dropping into an area for some sadistic sport. Anakin had to say Trandoshans had a horrible sense of fun.

A few meters above them was the blue-white top of an energy shield dome, the only thing separating them from a small pack of rancors circling them. Occasionally, one of the beasts would test the validity of the field with its claw, and electric sparks would hiss spider webs all along the curved surface. And then beast would retreat with a frightful roar of pain and malice towards the two captive Jedi growing in its eyes. Which Anakin thought was greatly unfair. If his opinion held any sway in the matter, he would not have chosen this. Ever.

At any moment some Trandoshan would deactivate the energy shield and the fun would begin.
