how to play:
- comment with your character, universe, and preferences.
- who are you in the stargate universe? are you part of the air force or the marines who form the core of the stargate program? are you a civilian contractor working in tandem with the military? are you a member of an alien race who has been contacted by the sgc?
- pick a scenario or use RNG to pick for you!

one. OFF WORLD MISSION. are you being sent to foster trade relations with an alien colony on one of the many worlds in the pegasus galaxy? are you on a reconnaissance mission collecting information on the wraith? are you delivering medical supplies to people in need? you choose!
two. SPARRING. perhaps you're just bored. or maybe you're trying to prove something. either way, you're in the gym, pitting yourself against one of your colleagues. is this in the middle of the night? are you shirking other duties that are less appealing? are people placing bets on who will win?
three. SCHEDULED LEAVE. guess what? you get to go home! are you going to spend your leave lounging on your couch watching all eight seasons of supernatural? are you going to use your time off to travel your own planet instead of someone else's? are you bringing someone home to meet the family?
four. MESS HALL. ahh lunch time. the scant hour in the middle of the day when you don't have to worry about work and instead can worry about...whatever that thing is on your plate. maybe you're setting up a date to meet with that hottie from security who's been eying you all week, or maybe you're the type to bring your work to lunch with you. either way, it's time for a break.
five. LEISURE TIME. even soldiers on base get a few hours off each week. do you jog around the city? golf off one of the balconies? draw? sing? meditate? whatever it is you want to do, now's your chance. don't waste your time, you'll be back on duty soon!
six. INFIRMARY. well that wasn't very smart was it. you've gone and landed yourself in the infirmary and it doesn't look like you're going to get out of here any time soon. or maybe you will. how good are you at charming your way past the medical staff?
seven. WRAITH ATTACK. time to grab your guns, because it looks like everyone's worst enemy is on its way. do you even known which end of the gun to hold? better learn fast, because those wraith darts are fast and the last thing anyone wants is to be culled.
eight. WE'RE STILL ALIVE. or the obligatory smut option. yay everyone survived whatever calamity just happened! it's time to celebrate. go grab your special someone and lock yourselves in a transporter or a puddle jumper or, hey, even your own rooms. nobody will blame you for wanting to get down tonight.

Nowhere near the action, they said. They failed to mention the fact that they might be studying ancient alien weapons alongside whatever else crosses their laboratory tables.

Bruce frowns deeply as he curls over his scope, taking notes with only an occasional glance at his notepad to make certain he's staying straight on the page. The inscriptions on this particular item are painstakingly tiny, and he knows he's going to need one of the unit's best linguists to sort things out. In the meantime, he can only hope for two things: (1) that it's not a weapon, and (2) that he doesn't accidentally activate whatever it does by holding it wrong.

After a while he finally realizes his back is sore from being hunched over. As he stretches he finally glances at a clock and shakes his head.

"Lunch time already?"

One - Off World Mission

Bruce was not an 'away mission' kind of guy. He likes to think he's had enough of the running and being shot at for most civilian scientists at this point but apparently someone thinks otherwise.

At least, for now, there wasn't any "running or being shot at" going on. His backpack was smaller, and filled with more scientific instruments than survival gear, but at least he knew well-enough to pack emergency rations and that sort of thing. It made him more ready to run in the event that something did go down, but he could still hope for the best, right?

And right now, he wasn't doing too badly. He was being given a break from the lab to deliver and administer medical aid to a people in need of his skills as a Doctor. This was what he lived for, helping others, and it was the kind of thing that took weeks of applying for, in order to get permission. He only hoped that the accompanying soldiers were in this for similar reasons. Being surrounded by soldiers made him nervous even today, but he's trying not to show it as he smiles faintly as they follow a dirt path into the woods.

Option 2: New civilian commander/second in command. Quiet, mild-mannered, and he's totally a bureaucrat with no idea how to run an alien space station, right? Right.

Option 3: Leader of an SG exploration team, temporarily or permanently on assignment to Atlantis. ]

Deep down, Dr. River Song knows that it isn't exactly Phil Coulson's fault that he's heading up the team she wanted to lead. It's a number of factors, some bureaucratic. Some, however, are unspoken bias. Who's going to take orders from an archaeologist? Besides, Coulson had a promising record and glowing recommendations. All River had were perfect scores on the target range. She still struggled to be a team player.

She had every intention of being civil, attentive, respectful, especially when she was assigned to work with him. But he was so damned nice that it rubbed her the wrong way. And there were only so many times she could justify target practice. Her excellent marksmanship was starting to look like a waste of materials. So she took to the gym to work out her lingering frustrations. Her hair was pulled back loosely out of her eyes, sweat began to collect on her shirt as she threw punch after punch at the bag hanging on a chain.

Only he probably got caught in Atlantis. Because it's really hard to get through the Stargate here and then escape to some planet somewhere.

The society on his planet was matriarchal, and Malak himself is quiet, intensely self-contained, and extremely unwilling to admit that he has some limited healing powers through touch. He doesn't know what to do with himself here. ]

Granby is canonically gay, so romance is fine but dudes only. ]

So, it's a lovely little world with friendly local people. They aren't very advanced but they are very agriculturally minded. They also have some respectable defenses against Wraith attack. Everything seems good and the people seem more than willing to trade.

Everything goes well for several weeks.

In what seems like a Wraith attack, everyone takes to caves and in the confusion people get separated. Villagers are killed, homes are burned.

But everything isn't as it seems. The remaining villagers suddenly turn on the team once they're in the caves. The team leader is taken away first. He's returned some six hours later, in a strange daze like state. Granby is taken next.

He's brought to a portion of the cave that's been carved out into rooms and have actual doors. He's left with his wrists tied in one of the rooms. The door is locked behind him but he isn't alone.

"I have worked very hard to avoid contact with the Atlantis Expedition. But now it seems that has come to the end," Ba'al says. He's dressed remarkably simply for a goa'uld but slightly better than the villagers.

[Valerie has heard of the humans from Earth before, and of their far-reaching travel and mysterious weapons. She just had never really believed the stories, that's all. They had always seemed to be too fantastical to be true, but now she's faced with the reality of them, and she doesn't quite know how to react.

A delegation of Earth-dwellers all dressed in some dusky blue fabric, holding large weapons, has spent the day with the city council, discussing something she's sure is quite boring but is also probably painfully necessary. Their world is in dire need of an opened trade route, and it would seem that these Earth-dwellers would be the easiest way to get it. She knows it can't be easy for her people to swallow, accepting help so easily, but they seem to be willing enough to swallow their pride and go against their insular ways when the safety of the whole planet is at stake.

It's for that very reason that Valerie sneaks out of her house and goes to find one of them. Thankfully they stick out easily, and it isn't very hard for her to stretch time a little slower so that she can slip through the crowd and find one that is relatively isolated so that she can grab his wrist.]

[Self-proclaimed space pirate whose only acts of piracy are against either the Wraith or evil/corrupt governments. A stout ally of Atlantis, he's the kind of ally who shows up just when one needs that crucial artifact/rescue attempt/piece of information at the right time. However, he insists on keeping the suit on at all times - even in the mess hall - and he avoids the infirmary like the plague. His ship, depicted in icon, clearly shows his pirate's mark, and he has a passing knowledge of the more populated regions of the Pegasus Galaxy.

For someone who appears to be an alien, he's surprisingly knowledgeable of just about anything dealing with Earth, and he speaks with a slight Japanese accent. He also appears to be on a personal quest for some odd-looking keys, but he's not about to spill any information about it to just anyone. Just don't call him a Power Ranger, though. It's one of the few non-villainous trigger buttons for him.]

[Oh man I love SGA. We have a couple options here:

One: Pre-Hulk scientist Bruce as part of the expedition. Atlantis technology, nuclear physics, ehhh it's all the same in Stargate. He and Rodney get along great, really.

Two: Post-Hulk Bruce being forced to join the Stargate program to get his threat off planet, a requisite condition of him being pardoned. SGA does take all the Earth rejects, after all.

Three: Some kind of Planet Hulk tie in with Hulk being shot off into space to remove his threat that way, and ends up ruling a planet instead. Someone from Atlantis encounters him.]
