tl;dr version — a meme that explores a shipping concept from a darker perspective. Characters, brainwashed by losing their memories and other scientific deviancies, are bonded with their "lifemate," who they're said to be created for. They must live together and grow co-dependently close, all while the machinations behind the scene are twirling like cogs in order to move them closer to the darkness.

Anyone can be manipulated. You just need to work at them through the right person.

You wake up, groggy and confused, in a white room that is expansive and furnished with all white furniture, yet pristine. The white is probably so bright that it hurts your eyes and you may have to blink for a moment. It doesn't help that your body is swathed in white, too; you're wearing what appears to be a modern day white cotton scrub top and and bottom. In fact, the only spot of black on you is on the palm of your hand: right in the center, there's a barcode. Under that, in neat, angular print, is a name. Your name.

It's a good thing it's there because otherwise, you wouldn't know it. Your memories are gone. You don't know how you got here, why you're here, or much of anything else. Soon, however, you'll know that you're not alone. The other person is not you're captor, that much is for sure. They're clothed like you are and look just as confused. They even have the exact same barcode as you, down to the last number. The only thing that differs is the name under it.

But the room is furnished for one alone. One bed, one couch, one bathroom. You two don't know much, yet you know you are two. The secret is soon made clear by a voice over a hidden loudspeaker. The voice claims to be a scientist and announces the purpose of you being here. This is the first day of your existence, they say, and you two were created together and for each other. Lifemates, the term is. You both are the perfect scientific experiment, and let man not tear asunder what science hath created.

And that's it.

Accept this or not, there seems to be little recourse. The room has no visible entrance or exit. The walls don't budge if you hit them. Nothing works. The only time anything changes is when food is brought in, but neither of you have ever seen that occasion. No matter how long you stay up, you always fall asleep when food or other necessities come in. Could that have something to do with the soft, soothing voices and pleasant feelings that sometimes come when you least except them?

You and your "lifemate" may be mutually scared, get along swimmingly from the start. It doesn't matter. Eventually, you'll become closer and closer. Lines will get crossed. Boundaries will get obliterated. Maybe it's because they're the only lifeline you have. Or maybe, maybe what the "scientist" said is right. You're created for each other, and this is your natural state. Whatever the case may be, as time goes on, you want to stay with them, even if you still want to leave this place. After all, how could you leave the side of the person you've spent your whole life with.

Yet there's something in your mind that tells you there's wrong here. Sometimes, at night, you'll get images of another life, and later, during the day, you'll feel hints of an existence you've never known. Luckily, you have your lifemate to get you through this.

HOW TO PLAY

Basically, your character has no memories and are power-nerfed...for some options.
Reply with your character and preferences. Also be sure to mention whether or not you'll play smut, since some options are smut-tinged.

Unwittingly — You didn't want to give in, yet you find yourself being pulled in by your companion and growing protective of them.
Closeness — Soft words grow into soft touches, embraces, tiny kisses, and a gentle (relatively) haven.
Initiating — The first time you're going to be intimate, or the five millionth time, it will be on your own terms.
Need You Now — You've grown reliant on your "lifemate" to keep you calm or even take care of you, whether you want to admit it or not. You may even need them beside you to sleep or
Physicality — Your relationship has a full-on carnal aspect. What else is there to do?

Aphrodisiac — The sexual bonding between the two of you isn't progressing in a way it should, so one or both of you is injected with a potent aphrodisiac. That should do the trick.
Implanted Memories — You remember happy times with your lifemate. Surely those memories are real.
Flashbacks — You remember another life, and it doesn't match up with what you know.
Nightmares — Waking up in the middle of the night, sweating in fear is never a wonderful experience. Luckily, you have someone close by to cheer you up...if you want to worry them with your dreams.
No One but You — You've decided to ignore the scientists and make the best of what you have, carving out a little life together.
Scientist — You're not actually a lifemate, you're a scientist! However, you've developed pesky feelings for one of your subjects.

Escape — There's a tiny window of opportunity to get out. Take it. But no one gets left behind, even if you would have before.

No. [Steve spoke without even a tiny hesitation. He tightened his arms around her, lowering his head to press his lips to her hair.] I think that you're perfect just the way you are, but that you need a little something. And I think I was made to give it to you. I think you're special.

[His words chased away the little whispers of doubt as his arms tightened around her. He was right. They were made for each other like the scientists said.

If she lacked something, he must be there to give it to her. That just had to be it. Rip finally managed to relax against him and let his heart soothe her a little more.]

You are probably right.

[She tilts her head up to give him a slight smile.]

Thank you. I do not zhink I could not survive vithout you here vith me.

[He smiles back, glad to see her relaxing. He was obviously made to be selfless, because he honestly doesn't mind giving up his blood to make sure she's okay.]

Well, I've got to take care of you.

[He was made to be selfless and she was made to be selfish for his attention. Though, if things were reversed, she would do everything she could to give him what he needed.

Rip's smile grew slightly.]

Und if I can, I vant to take care of you... it just looks like you haf zhe advantage in zhings right now.

[He likes the look of that smile. It makes something shiver in his chest - a deep affection that he's helpless against]

You do a lot for me, Rip. If you weren't here, I'd be all alone. And I don't mind helping you at all.

Are you sure? I still feel like I should be able to help you more.

[Even if he was right, without her, he would be alone and the same could be said if she was without him. How long would she have lived with out him by her side? Rip never wanted to find out.

On an impulse she shifts in his arms enough to place a kiss on his neck. It was gentle and affectionate, right over his pulse. Rip could feel the beat against her soft lips and marveled in it.]

I vant to make zhe bite up to you zomehow.

I'm sure.

[What he didn't say, was that it wasn't just that she keeps him from being alone, but that she gives him a reason to live. He can't imagine just surviving without being able to do something good for someone.

At the kiss, he starts, then smiles shyly, his hands rubbing up and down her back]

Um...that'd be nice. What do you have in mind?

It depends. Vat are you in zhe mood for Steve? I vant to make it up to you but I do not vant to make you uncomfortable either.

[Her head nestles against his shoulder as his hands travel up and down his back. It was soothing, even relaxing to have him touch her.

But, did he want to do more than caress her? Rip wouldn't deny him if he wanted more. She could never deny her lifemate something so intimate. It was something she would freely give to him whenever he wanted.

He just had to ask.]

[And he himself is a little nervous to take things to the next step. He definitely has great affection - love - for Rip, but offering to express that is daunting. He doesn't want her to feel uncomfortable, either.

Still, she does seem to feel the same way he does.

He flushes, and glances away] I was wondering if I could kiss you.

[The way he flushed at the offer was adorable. Rip just knew it would take him time to be physical with her and as far as she knew, they had all the time in the world to explore one another.

She just needed to let him get comfortable with the idea and then actually doing more with her. Rip knew they loved one another, they were made for each other after all...

Though in this aspect, they were night and day. Rip was always willing and comfortable with affection.]

I vould love it if you did.

[Steve enjoyed affection! He just didn't want to mess things up, or push her. They did have to live together, after all. And she was the centre of his world. He couldn't stand it if things got awkward between them.

At her permission, though, he smiled shyly, and leaned closer to do just that, pressing his lips to hers]

[Considering Rip's own affection for him, it would only get awkward if he made it that way.

Lips met hers and Rip melted into it. The kiss may be gentle, but it was a touch Rip was reveling in as her own lips responded against his.]

[Steve has no idea where his conviction that he isn't attractive to women comes from, but it's very real to him. He draws in a breath as she melts into him, and he deepens the kiss as his confidence grows, his arms tightening around her]

[Rip responded to his confidence as his arms tightened around her, letting the kiss deepen as her hands clenched the front of his shirt.

It was easy to see she was enjoying this. It was something that hadn't done before and it just felt right for her. Good... Rip adored this new affection from her lifemate and wanted more.. if he was willing to give it.]

[As she responded, his confidence continued to grow, and he allowed his passion to take hold. He let out a long breath and shifted, laying her down onto the bed as he opened his mouth shyly, his tongue delving out to taste her lips.

On the other hand, if she has some idea of what he's supposed to do next, he would probably benefit from some guidance.]

[She felt his tongue against her lips and let them part, inviting his tongue in to explore if he wanted.

Thankfully between the two of them, Rip somehow knew how to guide him. She didn't know why she knew, only that it seemed to be instinct for her.

She shifted a little under him, getting herself comfortable and moving to part her legs so he could rest against a more intimate spot of hers. Hands let go of his shirt to gently start doing a little exploring and encouraging him to do the same.]

[He settles between her legs comfortably, his tongue delving out curiously to take that invitation and explore. He can taste the lingering bite of his own blood in her mouth, and it makes him recoil a little at first. But he knows it's nothing to fear, so it doesn't take long before he's kissing her deeply again, not caring about the metallic taste in his mouth.

He feels his body stirring as he presses against her. His fingers begin to move over her shoulders, and one slides down her side to her hip.]

[For a moment she wondered if there was something wrong when he recoiled before remembering she still had the taste of blood in her mouth. Rip worried for a moment that would make him stop what he was doing. Thankfully that didn't seem to be the case.

Her hands delved lower to tug at the hem of his shirt before slipping beneath to run her fingers over his warm skin and began tracing back up over his abdomen and up to his chest as his hands moved over her own body. The way his fingers were gently exploring her was stirring deep inside of her in response.]

[He made a little noises as her fingers ran over his body, exploring his skin under the shirt. It felt nice, not like the touches they'd already shared, and his own body stirred under her ministrations.

After a while, he came up for air, and ghosted his lips over her cheek instead, trying to catch his breath.]

This is really good...

[Definitely not like the touches they shared before. This was something intimate and stirring. Something that called to a part of her that had been dormant until now. Rip desired him more than ever with each gentle touch an the way his own body pressed against hers.

She drew in a soft breath when he came up for air and smiled as his lips ghosted over her cheek.]

It is...und I bet ve can make it feel even better.

[Fingers trailed down his sides as Rip gently rocked her hips against his, teasing him to see how he would react to such a gesture from her.]

[He gasps as she rocks against him and it feels like sparks jump between them. His hips press forward, grinding against her eagerly, and he runs his hand upwards until his fingers curve around a breast.]

I'd like that. I really would.

[Her breath hitched when he responded to her teasing. The way he was grinding against her made Rip crave more as a soft moan spilled from her.

Hand slipped lower to start to tug on the waist of his pants.]

Zhen clothes need to disappear.

[He blushes. Of course, he's seen her in a state of undress before. Stuck in a small room together, it would be impossible not to be intimate in that way. But somehow this is different.

He does draw back, though, awkwardly averting his gaze as he pulls his shirt over his head and tosses it aside.]

Definitely.

[That blush was just simply adorable to her and it still amuses her how shy and awkward he could be about things like this.

When he averted his gaze to take off his shirt, Rip lifted herself up slightly to slide off her own shirt, revealing her pale skin beneath and nothing else.

Her breasts were definitely a good handful for her larger companion and eager for his hands to do a little exploring. Next she drew his attention back to her by running the palms over her hands over his bare chest, making sure to gently scrape her nails against his skin as she moved lower to tug on his pants again.

They would both have to move to get those off. ]

[Her attempt to draw his gaze back to her is successful, and his eyes are caught by the beauty of her curves. He stares with eyes slightly wide for a moment, before blushing and remembering he should actually do something.

He squirms off of her and reaches for her pants. He hooks his fingers in the waistband and encourages her to lift her hips, and skims his hands down her thighs as he draws them off.]
