How It Works |
Sometimes, memes can be awkward. There's always that feeling that, if you don't know the person behind the curtain, you'll be intruding somehow. Don't worry. We've all been there. Still, it's nice to have that little reassurance that hey, it's cool. We're all in this together and we just want to play. That's where this meme comes in! The point here is to play with someone you've never played with before, OR play with a character/canon you're unfamiliar with. The prompts provided include mundane activities, chance meetings, platonic fluff, romance/smut, fighting, and crack. This is pretty much the granddaddy of meme variety, so there should be something for just about everyone. INSTRUCTIONS - Comment with you character(s). In the subject field, put all the info that's relevant + any preferences. - Reply to others. Remember, the goal is to play with new people! - The initial set of prompts is in this post. The subsequent sets are linked GoogleDocs. - Use the RNG to get your prompts. - Have fun! |

FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS IT:

But someone did.
He leans forward into the hand, letting her scratch if she wants.
"...Okay."
Then -
"What's your name?"
no subject
River does scratch behind the ears nice and gentle so as not to spook her new friend. "River...my name is River...what should I call you?"
no subject
A girl named after water. And the scratching is nice. He smiles, flashing his considerable number of teeth as he repeats his name.
"Stitch. My name Stitch."
no subject
"I like your name too Stitch," River says pushing the biscuit where he can reach it, "it fits you like a name should."
no subject
"Yeah. Used to be 626. Nobody likes 626. Stitch is better!"
no subject
"Stitch and River," she says with a giggle, "family forever."
no subject
It's not forgetting his old family - well, it is, because something's stopping the memory - but it's nice to make his little family bigger. He gets the feeling River would be a very exciting part of it!
His ears prick as the engines pick up speed.
"Where are we going?"
no subject
"A planet near the edge of the system but I don't know where Simon won't tell me," River said with a little pout, "we have a job there but Simon says I can't come."
no subject
Stitch is torn - he's still hungry, but what kind of work WOULD you do with a ship? All HIS work has involved crashing them!
no subject
"We are picking up some cargo to be delivered to another planet," River explains, "there is a lot of it."
no subject
"More food maybe? Please?"
Hey look! Manners! (Wonder if there's anyone else in the Kitchen?)
no subject
River nods and stands up holding out her hand. "There is lots in the kitchen and no one is in there right now."
no subject
Stitch takes her hand, warm and soft against his fur. This is familiar, he used to do this with... someone. She (definitely a she, she she she) was littler then River, though. He shakes his head as the ache begins pinging again, and decides to try and restore more language instead.
"What's a Simon?"
no subject
River giggles softly. "Simon is a person, my older brother, he protects me from the bad people and keeps me safe."
Sorry for sporadic tags until Monday - work!
" 'Brother' - like 'sister?' "
Then -
"Bad people?"
It''s okay I'm dealing with that too.
no subject
Then there's another growl from his stomach. He wonders how much further it is to the kitchen. (or is it a galley? Don't ships have galleys? There was some TV show...)
no subject
River nods as she leads Stitch into the kitchen, a small but cozy room in the middle of the ship. "Bad people go bye, bye," she replies as she pulls up one of the chairs so the little blue guy can reach the counter.
no subject
"Eh?!"
no subject
River smiled and picked up one of the cans. "You have to smell them," she explains, "most of the food we get isn't fresh."
no subject
"Blech!" That one gets tossed aside. The next gets an excited "Ooooooooh!" and he waves it at River.
no subject
River looks delighted. "Chocolate powder...I didn't know we had any of that left. Would you like some on some cereal?"
no subject
"Need jorn adj - wait - stove or oven? Something for heat?"
no subject
"Oh," River nodded and tapped a cube shaped metal box in the center of the counter. "This is our oven." She fiddles with the nobs and gets the box to turn on.
no subject
"Okay! Need bowl, spoon, pan, water!"
He grins, pleased. A whole list of things without a slip!
