It's probably Thanos) is coming tomorrow, and it's unlikely truce time to get the job done, but first: it's an evening of all those family issues we haven't had time to yell at each other about because there were more 'important' things to discuss? Because who better to spend your maybe last night ever with than your arguably super-villain adopted brother who has tricked you into thinking he died twice? Also probably drinking is involved.))

They'd always known this was the risk they were running.
Most of Europe was controlled by Moriarty now, and he had sway, a lot of sway across the globe. Too much for any one madman to have, but it turned out that Moriarty could act surprisingly sane when he truly wanted to. Watching him on the telly, you could almost forget the hundreds he'd ordered to their deaths.
But, there was a resistance. John hadn't meant to do it, really, but--he could see something had to be done. And he'd always had a way of getting people moving the same direction without really meaning to. Leading the resistance almost happened by accident, really, not something he'd ever planned. But it worked, Sherlock's deductions and John's ability to handle people keeping their group as safe as could be, growing in strength.
They'd hoped to retake London, oust Moran from the capital and use it as a base to start retaking England but it had all gone wrong. The guards had been waiting for them, and there had been so many...
John shifted a bit, unable to quite get comfortable with what he was quite sure was a fractured rib.
A public execution. A bit melodramatic even for Moriarty, but John supposed he was making a point.
"He's making a mistake, you know. He'll make us into martyrs. The two of us dying in public--stupidest thing he can do." Keep calm, practical. Focus on the movement.
Don't think about being dead in less than a day.

[Loki's probably one of the last people Billy wants to see right now, but he's not here to cause trouble, for once. Well, not deliberately, anyway. Trouble does tend to follow him around, after all.
That's really not the point, though. Billy's about to do something potentially fatal, and Loki's just here to see if he can be talked out of it. He does still owe Billy, after all, and Teddy, for that matter, so here he is. A last minute visit, to see if there's another way for this to go.
