[ It’s bullshit that they’re making him tag along for these things like he needs a babysitter. It’s clear from the lack of attention that he’s bored, that he’d rather be home. If some monster is going to come kill them all he’d rather be back home living it up before the end. Of course it wouldn’t be that easy, either. It’s like the weather is conspiring to make TJ even more miserable by trapping them in the hellhole. The place smells like a garage, it’s colder than he’d like (Christ, don’t they believe in heating in this place?), and he can’t find anything that even resembles a good time.

The communal shower doesn’t bother him. He just gets up earlier than usual to get in before it crowded. He doesn’t even fuss over having to step into the thin in bare feet (what, he didn’t expect to be here so he didn’t pack shower shoes). TJ doesn’t balk when he hears footsteps and the rustling of clothes. Even boarding schools have gym classes and gym classes mean communal washrooms. What gets his feathers rustled is the guy having the nerve to not only talk to him but shower right beside him.

The distaste plays over his face clearly, a sort of offended surprise etching over his features. He leans away instinctively and holds his hands in question. ]

Wow, really? Really? The whole place is empty and you’re gonna pick that spot right there?

[ Cute guy, Chuck thinks offhandedly, though he’s mildly impressed that the guy isn’t throwing some shitfit about having to share showers and whatnot like some spoiled teenage girl.

Though he could be – Chuck just hasn’t been around to see if that’s the case. ]

[ Chuck smirks at him, leers, even and rocks on his heels as he lets the water splash down on his skin. He’s got it turned hot, almost as hot as it’ll go because that’s how Chuck is, likes the feeling of scalding water hitting flesh, feeling his body temperature rise, rise, rise. ]

[ Colour TJ utterly underwhelmed. A bland look smooths the surprise from his face and works boredom into his tone. ]

[ But thems the brakes, as they say. At least the place has hot water, though from the steam pouring out of the tap at which Chuck's planted himself there might not be enough for long. Even from where he's standing, TJ can see the other man's skin getting red under the water. That's one way to wake up in the morning. Oh, and he's not really being all that shy about giving Chuck a blatant once over. He started this by standing so close. ]

[ No shame, nice. But, with a second’s thought, TJ realizes it shouldn’t be surprising. Communal showers after all. People wouldn’t be okay with them if they were going to get ruffled every time someone glanced their way. Well, TJ’s pretty shameless himself so he’s not looking away.

He never thought about the kind of shape one had to be in to pilot one of those monsters. He doesn’t ever think about those sorts of things if he can avoid it. Plus those pilots are always in that weird armour looking stuff on TV. It’s hard to tell what’s going on under all that. ]

Great. So much for a long, relaxing shower. This place really is a shithole.

[ Pretty much. Chuck's not really worried about people staring at him; he's in fucking amazing shape, and he knows it. He doesn't care. ]
