A Day at the Beach Meme
So you need a vacation. The weather's nice, so why not hit the beach?

So here are the rules:
1. Comment with your character and put their name and canon in the subject line.
2. Do beach stuff with whoever threads with you. Go tanning. Collect seashells. Have a picnic. Swim. Surf. Visit the little resort. Get stranded at sea in a canoe. Day or night. Do your own thing.
3. There is no need for RNG here, just have fun. :)

[Aaand accidentally splashing himself with the crab leg he's finally wrestled free. Ow! He hisses, shaking his arm. Wow that was clever of him. He turns to Lazlo, feeling vaguely embarrassed.] Aha... sorry. ...What are you looking for?
no subject
The only thing he's found on the island he's not tried is turtle. ... And anything sapient. Though I think that was assumed.
Aha, there's the bottle of Obel wine Lino gave him a bit ago! Success! -- but he looks up at Ted cleverly splashing himself. ] Careful with that. [ Yeah, thanks, great advice. Ladida, opening the bottle~ and taking out cups, too.
...
...
... wait, what. ] -- Ted, your hand.
no subject
[He's a little surprised Lazlo is carrying around wine, of all things, on this island, but... Lazlo, right. Anyway, at least Lazlo doesn't act like Ted is too young to drink--]
Huh? [--oh.] Oh. [He lifts his hand, looking at it himself.] I... Someone else is carrying it now. [He hesitates.] A friend.
no subject
Hey, it's his island! Or possibly Chiepoo's Island. Maybe this half can be Lazlo's Island and the other half is Chiepoo's Island and together it's the Moderately Deserted Island.
... okay, blinking at that. Ted does not have friends. Ted has goodwill partners he walks away from awkwardly. Those are not the same thing. Those are not even remotely the same thing. So, blankly: ] ... ... ... Aldo?
no subject
[Ted's busy trying to figure out why Lazlo looks so baffled and almost misses what he says at first. Then:] W-what? No! [Wait, that sounded a little too vehement... actually, maybe it didn't.] It's... his name is Tir. He's a general's son; I lived next door to him for several years.
no subject
... ... ... okay, yeah, now he's even more confused. ] ... 'Several years'? Weren't you, um.... [ He pantomimes having a hooded cloak. Not very well, mind you, but that's probably memorable enough. ]
no subject
[Blink blink. Wasn't he... oh.] Well, yes, but that was... [He does the math.] ...a hundred and fifty years ago. [And Lazlo has apparently been on this island the whole time. Some people.] I only met Tir a few years back.

...
[ He probably shouldn't have gone out to lunch with Viki last week, huh. ]
... What year is it? 311, right?
no subject
... [Is Lazlo saying...] It's... 453. [How on earth do you lose track of that much time?]
no subject
...
...
... hello, wine! Nice afternoon, isn't it! ]
...
. . .
. . .
I think Viki messed up.

[Ted takes his glass and gives Lazlo a partly-sympathetic, mostly-baffled look.] You mean, she teleported you here-- I mean, um, now? [...welp. He hopes Lazlo wasn't doing anything important? And how is that turtle still around then?]
no subject
She dropped by and we got lunch last week, yes. [ SOMBER. But.
...
... ]
... Living in the future might be fun, too. [ :D? ]
no subject
[He looks around.] This place probably hasn't changed much, in any case...
no subject
Also: ... ... ... :D? He's not going to actually ask what Ted's unsubtly hiding, but he gives him a Look. He's a tenkai; he can sit here hitting the talk button all day. He doesn't really expect Ted to explain, but still. ]
Not that I've noticed, no. The other side's probably a lot different by now, though. [ He is not going to begrudge Chiepoo his success at achieving world domination. He isn't. That would be wrong, even if Chiepoo did rename Lazlo's Island after himself. Jerk. ]
no subject
...? [Lazlo what is that look for. Ted eyes him cautiously for a moment; it's not like Lazlo is a mind reader
or like Ted can be read like a bookso what's his deal?]Oh... Yeah, I guess that could be. [He looks over his shoulder, as if he could just see the other side by looking.] Are you going to check it out, or...?
no subject
... eh, it's not Lazlo's business. Mildly reassuring smile! -- and eating bits of ignored crab, because food. Though he kind of wishes he had the time or materials to make crab buns instead .... Maybe whenever he next goes shopping. ]
Do you think I should? [ Ehhhh, being near people. And if this is that far in the future, Chiepoo wouldn't be there. ... Which he promptly stops thinking about. Immortality is not a thing he has had cause to come to terms with. At all. ]
no subject
[He's a little surprised to be asked, and it takes a moment of thought.] Well... maybe? What were you looking to do here -- er, now -- anyway?
no subject
... wait, Lazlo might have plans for the future beyond 'not die'? ... Hm. No, he can't really think of anything. Oh well. ]
... I dunno. Learn more recipes?
no subject
[...wow that actually tastes good, and Ted's face lights up a little. Lazlo, what the heck kind of sorcery is this? Nom nom nom.]
Learn more-- [Okay, so Lazlo is about the same as always, we'd already figured that out. But... seriously?] You mean, there's not anything you want to... see, or something? [It's been a hundred years and then some, dude, there's gotta be something you're interested in or curious about.]
no subject
He shrugs, smiling a little. That might've been Lazlo's idea of a joke. ... Or maybe he's just pleased that Ted's eating his crab. It's hard to tell.
... and, after some thought, he says (a bit wistful): ] What's your friend like?
no subject
[He starts a bit at Lazlo's question.] Huh? Oh... well... [He's hardly used to having friends, much less describing them... Ted looks up at the sky, thinking.]
He's... very open and friendly. I've only known him for a few years, but... he's treated me like a brother almost since we met. [He lets out a small half-laugh, looking back at Lazlo.] ...He actually reminds me of you, a little.
no subject
He beams; it's good Ted has friends. ... And, after a bit: ]
Is he cute?
no subject
[Ted's in the middle of swallowing when Lazlo speaks again and promptly almost chokes on the crab with a strangled 'bwuh?' noise.] N-no, he-- [He has to stop to cough, and when he looks up at Lazlo his face is impressively red, probably from lack of air. Probably.] W-what are you talking about? I just said he was my friend, not-- I mean, he's-- [Ted is about as sure of what he's trying to say as he is of why Lazlo asked that. He looks away, pushing a few strands of hair behind his ear for something to do.] Why are you even asking?
no subject
LAUGHING. DEFINITELY AT YOU RATHER THAN WITH YOU. Ahahaha. (Wow, that was easy. Older Ted even has more entertainment value; this is great.) ]
Just wondering! [ ... mostly as to whether Ted would flounce or be hilarious. But only mostly. ]
no subject
[H-hey that's not nice! Ted sort of glares (it comes out a bit like a pout), crossing his arms and looking away from Lazlo.] Well... he's my friend. That's all. [He sighs, leaning back on his elbows.] I don't think very much about those things anyway, so...
[He picks at the crab a bit. Where's a different subject when you need one?] ... So... you haven't had any problems with the rune since...? [That was totally smooth and completely relevant to the conversation. Just go along with it, Lazlo, please.]
