A Day at the Beach Meme

So you need a vacation. The weather's nice, so why not hit the beach?



So here are the rules:

1. Comment with your character and put their name and canon in the subject line.
2. Do beach stuff with whoever threads with you. Go tanning. Collect seashells. Have a picnic. Swim. Surf. Visit the little resort. Get stranded at sea in a canoe. Day or night. Do your own thing.
3. There is no need for RNG here, just have fun. :)

[Okay, maybe this isn't so bad. Sort of. Still can't get used to girls worth anything, but he's slightly getting better? And by better, I mean actually getting close in the water while being four feet away instead of nine.]

Looks like a nice day today. Hope you've put on your sunscreen or lotion... this water and the sun isn't going to be nice to you if you don't have those ready.

[ Ranka's keeping her distance as long as he needs her to. She steps out into the water as well, wearing a pink bikini. ]

Unfortunately, I've already got it on. Hope you didn't want to help me with it.

[ Which doesn't mean she won't tease him. ]

[Okay. That got a smile out of him, and it was nice for her to be considerate about that part of his problem!]

I think I'll find a way to get over that missed opportunity. Anyway, looks like we've got the beach all to ourselves. Might as well enjoy it while we've got that chance. Nice swimsuit, by the way. Picked that one out yourself?

[ Ranka is nothing if not considerate. Even the teasing is something she had to pick up from a certain friend over time. ]

I went shopping with Sheryl and Nanase. Do you really expect a girl to pick out a swimsuit entirely on her own?

... yeah, thought so? I mean, it's not like I've seen girls do swimsuit shopping before so I can't say I know much about that area. I didn't expect it to be a group thing.

[Now he's looking down at his black swim trunks and kind of compares it to her swimsuit. Kind of bland versus a grouped agreed swim wear. Since when did swimming had to get that complicated?]

Anyway, the water feels pretty good. Looks like we've made it just in time for the water to be warm and not too cool and still got in early. Can't be luck like that.

[ Silly Rock. It's only that complicated for girls; guys just throw on whatever trunks don't look totally dorky and roll with it. ]

Hehe. It's probably a good thing you haven't seen it, someone would probably think you were a pervert.

[ She kicks her feet in the gentle surf a little. ]

The water is really nice though. Do you want to swim?

[That sounds totally legit in all ways.]

I'll make a mental note of that. Having to deal with girls is an issue already, I'm not really in any sort of mood to make that misunderstanding.

[And-- the moment of truth! Him looking away while he's extending a hand out for hers with a flush coming onto his face!]

Well, I certainly don't mind if you want to. I think I'll be enjoying it for the most part in the water before crowds of people show up. [Including other ladies in swimwear that would just make him huddled into his corner/umbrella. This is the opportune moment!]

Are you a good swimmer?

[ Ranka reaches out to take his hand, her grip even gentler than usual, giving him the barest of squeezes. ]

The water goes pretty deep if we head out a bit, and I can stay under for a while.

I like to think that I am confidant in my skills. It's not exactly what I'm used to, but I'm pretty sure I can manage.

[And Rock squeezes her hand just as gentle as she was giving and starts to help pulling her along into the water with him.]

Oh yeah? Then I guess we'll have to see how deep we can go then.

That's good... I don't want to drag you around doing something you have trouble with.

[ Smiling, she follows Rock out into the water. ]

It's really clear water too.

And now that I take a look in the spam box in my email...

If I had a problem with it, I probably would have put up more of a fight in coming here of all places. Not that it matters anyway.

[So far, so good! Now that she's joined up with him, he's going to turn around to get a look at the ocea-- OH GOD WHAT THE WAVE TO THE FACE.

... don't mind him losing hold of that handholding, Ranka. He's too busy coughing and getting the taste of sea water out of his mouth once he pops back up above water.]

[ Ranka took the wave in stride, slipping into the water to glide through it on her back - though laughing at Rock made it a bit harder to do, and she ended up almost sinking before turning to stand up. ]

[Welp! That was fun when it lasted! The whole coughing fit that is. Wiping some of the water off his face and eyes before opening them, he lets out a big breath and rotates his neck.]

Guh. That's... that's something I should have saw coming. Ugh. I think I swallowed some of that...

[ She's gotten plenty of sea water in her mouth in the past, so she sympathizes... but not enough to think it's still funny. ]
