It's an old trope, admittedly, but an understandable one. You're hurt - physically or emotionally - and perhaps even on the brink of death. And then, out of the blue, someone saves you and brings you back. They heal you, they feed you, cloth you, wash you. In the human mind, the intimacies can bring up warm feelings, even in the hardest of hearts. Will you fight them or let them grow? And what about when it's time to leave? You may not feel like leaving your angel...

HOW TO PLAY

Minoru had been studying under the snake sages for several years. The first year and a half weren't very eventful, but with a short sabbatical and some help from his brother, he was able to go back and prove he was capable of learning their arts. Over time, the snake sages started sending him out into a number of different worlds to learn from others as well, believing his dreams would lead the way. It was how he ended up in the desert, of all places, with nothing more than a week of supplies tucked around his belt.

He bit his thumb until it bled, and rubbed a streak of blood over the tribal tattoo on his left arm. A snake that was well-suited to the climate appeared at his feet.

"You know what direction I'm supposed to go?" He crouched down, stroking the cobra's hood gently. "Everything looks the same out here."

She was walking around the perimeter of the camp, where Melissa still slept, guarding her snake case, partly to keep watch, partly just to move again after so long in the pits, the dreamsnake venom still coursing through her veins.

Snake should have heard the other sooner, if she hadn't been so exhausted, mentally and physically. She dropped, a little heavily, to a crouch, watching him, warily. But he spoke to the snake with respect, and it accepted his touch.

One of her kind? Another healer? She rose, unsteadily, not sure her voice wasn't going to crackle. "Away from the Domes, if you want to be safe." It was the best direction she could give right now.

[Considering Breakdown's status as one of the most durable mechs on the Nemesis, it came as a surprise that Knockout found the big guy suffering a considerable injury. It felt like a nightmare, mostly because he nearly spent five entire minutes in the battlefield on his unprotected own, dragging Breaky's frame to the ship.

The intervening days he used the mech's injury as an excuse to both stay by his side and to avoid going on the battlefield all together. It had been a couple of days when Knockout paid another check up visit.]
