All you know is the cement floor is cold, you can't figure out which way is up and which is down, and there's someone there inspecting you everywhere - taking inventory. ➁ SOCIAL: Life is catching up to you and it's overwhelming. You're in a world of hurt, but so is everyone else. It's all the same situation. He sniffs and rubs his eyes.

"I could do with a cup of tea from Mrs. H right now..." God, what would she think if she knew?

Sherlock nods. "I'm making arrangements for us to leave this afternoon, and clothes for you. 'Fraid I don't know what they'll send - but it should be in your size?"

He guessed, of course.
"So I suppose this evening you can have Mrs. H's tea."

He smiles and looks out the window.

"I..Yesterday I didn't think I'd ever get home...I'd given up. Just tried to forget. Easier that way."

Sherlock nods. "I didn't know, you were missing, but there's been...well. I don't understand, so..." he looks a bit awkward.

I'm trying to, John. There were times I didn't think I'd come home either.
But I didn't have it... as bad as you did.
He's trying though.

"I wouldn't want you to understand this." He says, a hint of that paternal tone returning; "I wouldn't want anyone to...have been through this."

Especially not Sherlock.

The very idea makes him feel sick.

Sherlock frowns a little. "You don't want me to help you?"
But... I want to.

I can't help if I don't understand.
But he gets what John means.

"Of course, I - I'll just make sure the flight's booked, and you have clothes."

That's what John needs him to do.

John shakes his head; "No I...I don't mean that. You can...help...I'm gonna need someone to get me through this, I know and...I wouldn't want anyone else...But I'm just saying you'd have to have been through...what I've been through...to understand it. And I'd rather suffer through it all again than have you do that. Do you get me?"

He doesn't like asking for help, Sherlock. He likes to be dependent.

But he's been nothing but a toy to be controlled for a year now. He's almost forgotten he has free will.

"...Y-you are coming home with me? Right?"

Sherlock nods at that. "Of course." If you'll have me. Well. Technically even if John didn't, because he's still somewhat on the drugs.

He'll nod to agree with John too.
Doesn't tell him he's been kidnapped and tortured and almost died escaping MI-6's plans for him.

No reason to.
It's nothing like what John has been through anyway.
It's strange to hear John say he needs him. It almost doesn't process right.

John smiles a little at that confirmation. He couldn't ever live at Baker Street without Sherlock.

"You're too brilliant to get yourself in a mess like this." He says, rubbing his arm where they jabbed the needles in.

You're more a hero than I am. I'm the...damsel in distress.

Sherlock gives a cautious smile back. "Well. Some would say otherwise, but - that's beside the point." He doesn't think that's so, but he's not one to admit he isn't brilliant.

He winces at John's expression. "I saw the state they kept you in. You couldn't escape even if you had the chance to."
He doesn't want John to know he bought him either.

Obviously the government would frown on that.

John fidgets; "They'd be idiots."

He knows Sherlock is right. And it's not like he didn't try his hardest. But with the drugs being constantly pumped into his veins and keeping him weak as a kitten he didn't have much of a say in anything.

"I don't want anyone to know."

But he thinks John might need to talk to Ella or someone ... Sherlock doesn't assume though.

Neither of them are good about talking about things.

Sherlock isn't really... ashamed of John, if that's what John thinks.

John is everything. He needs John, but - it seems rude to tell him that.

Probably shouldn't have done that but - he didn't want John to think he was a possession, nor did he want John to think he didn't belong.

There's water running for a short time before Sherlock comes out again, looking calm.

John looks up when Sherlock thinks twice about his statement before disappearing.

Didn't....didn't Sherlock want to be his flat mate anymore? Did he think John was tainted or something?

Sherlock comes out of the bathroom. "I don't meant... you belong to anyone. Just if you want to stay."
He shrugs. Like he doesn't care. Like none if it matters.

Like there isn't pressure on John.

John looks sheepish and shrugs.

"...Would you be ok with me staying?"

"Yes. Of course you can stay." More than okay. Just.. don't want John getting the wrong idea. But - John thinks. Sherlock isn't interested.

And for now, that's fine.
John won't think Sherlock has ulterior motives for asking him to stay.

He gives a shy smile and lays down again. He still feels so weak and his scars hurt. His back feels like its been terribly burned by the multiple lashings.
