One downside to Infinity's great size was that she couldn't dock with most space stations. This meant being shuttled to and fro via a Pelican or other transport ship. It also meant that just staying on the station was easier than taking multiple trips back and forth.

This would be the first new station opened since the war and naturally Infinity was expected to be there for it. Which meant their time so far had been filled with meetings and tours and all manner of other 'official business'.

On the plus side the place was still virtually empty, only a skeleton crew and a few key visitors just starting to trickle in.

"Really, Commander you should have more faith." Kat chastised as she wandered back into the cockpit of the Black Cat subprowler they'd used to exfil from Ballast. "They'll find us soon enough." After all, she was the one who had sent out the highly encrypted databurst detailing their current flight path to the battlecruiser that had been scheduled to pick them up.

Unfortunately, that battlecruiser had missed it's timeframe but Kat knew a dozen different reasons could have caused the delay in their pick-up. She'd had to dump her armor when they accessed the vessel thanks to the heat and shrapnel of a Covenant sticky grenade nearly ending her life. The fact that she'd almost died hadn't had a particularly detrimental effect on the lieutenant unfortunately. She'd come out of the blast radius with a mild concussion and a nasty cut on her forehead from where she'd been tossed face first into the side of a building by the force of the blast.

The automated medical facilities had already seen to her injuries and judging by the dampness of dark hair that still clung to her face, she'd taken a shower before changing into a spare pair of fatigues.
