You're a pop star, or a royal, or maybe even the last of your kind who will bring about the Earth's redemption. Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention.
And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth.
Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy.
Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised?
How to Play 1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference. 2. Comment to others. 3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you. |

but every time they come together, he wonders how much longer he'll be able to keep it reigned in. some evenings, the king looks at him like he wants to possess him. this had started innocently enough— he knew Saralegui had a tendency to test his borders. he's incited other shinobi into arguments, before. but Sasuke remains outwardly unmoved.
for the most part.

definitely the guarded.....
Cersei could not travel with her usual complement of guards, because they would be instantly recognizable. Therefore, she had engaged the services of this man, though she knew nothing of him personally. "Why should I trust you with my wellbeing?" She inquired.

Guardian, not that she really needs it...
He didn't need to be ordered to accompany the Knight-Commander to the gala. He would have gone anyway unless ordered to be somewhere else. She didn't have eyes in the back of her head regardless of her reputation. Now more than ever she had enemies in the shadows. He strode at her side through one of the Hightown plazas in his dress regalia, armed and alert, and braced himself for what would probably be a dull evening of listening to pompous windbags grouse about how they needed a Viscount, all the while pretending they believed they were speaking too softly for either him or Meredith to hear it.
He knew better than to complain. She wasn't any fonder of these sorts of events than he was. She also knew when it was prudent to at least give the appearance of interest in what the powerful families in Kirkwall wanted of her. They, in turn, seemed to know what it took to draw out a Templar presence, fundraising for one of the Chantry's favored charities.
"I hope this time they know better than to drag out one of the orphans to the party," he murmured for her ears alone. "The last one cried so hard I thought he was going to lose a lung." They should have known that the children wouldn't see such a thing as an exciting privilege but rather a terrifying experience of being put on display for poking and clucking.
Guardian! (that thing we talked 'bout)
Knight-Commander Meredith seems a strong, capable leader, and Kaldur finds himself admiring the way she takes command and leads the forces under her control. It was all going well, even if the eel tattoos along his arms occasionally garnered second looks.
It isn't until there are missiles in the air that he acts, on instinct reaching for his waterbearers and calling the water to him. His tattoos glowing a bright blue-white as he forms a solid shield that the tech detonates against. The force of the impact pushes him back a few paces, before he springs forward again, trying to find the source, but by the time he reaches the outcrop of rocks the launcher is long-gone. Its the span of a moment to send a mind-update to M'gann, before he turns back to face his 'charge.' ]

It was exactly what he wanted to see. A good start at least.
His eyes traveled over the other man, lingering at the brand at the back of his hand, twin to Aeler's. "Have you had any experience in being a guard?"

Celegorm | The Silmarillion
this thing
[ He had been away for some time, on loan to deal with some function that Celegorm had not wanted to attend to, and in the interim the Man's beard had grown long and full. Noach was rather proud of it, and the feeling of his former home-cultural dignity that came with a lengthy, well-kept beard. He's even contemplated braiding some beads into it, but he hasn't much had the time for it.
Celegorm had had a surprisingly blank face when Noach had first returned, but there were often many thoughts on his lord's mind, so he did not mark it, and went on to finish his duties for the day. He'd received a summons late in the evening, to meet with Celegorm at the next morrow's earliest light in preparation fora more formal guard detail.
It was odd, perhaps, standing threateningly was something he had done often enough for Celegorm before, but it was not in Noach's nature to question his lord's decisions
barring certain very specific circumstances. So he reports early, carrying with him all the formal-wear he would need to prevent it from getting tarnished and dirtied before it is time to be fully present. ]Is there something you need, sir?
yes yes yes!
