The main conceit of shipping memes, it seems, is that both characters exist in the same universe. But what about something that tosses that out the window for a minute, and lets you play with the implications of "crossover?" Here, you can play with someone from a different canon (or AU or radically different canonpoint) and enjoy shipping that's truly out of this world. It can be hard enough being ejected from your own home - imagine being plucked away from your home world! This could be because of your own doing (say, you were banished for being too cocky), you were too evil or too ambitious to stay, or even due to an accident. Those temporal shifts can be a little much. Whether by design or by chaos, however, you end up in the same place...or, rather, a different place. Theoretically, this world could be very much like your own, with only a few minor changes, like a purple sky instead of a blue one or lion-demons instead of tiger-vampires. On the other hand, it could be completely different, anywhere from more technologically advanced or less so or even filled to the brim with bizarre creatures. They still use cars? What are those infernal beeping devices? Why does no one have feathers or gills? Needless to say, this could be overwhelming if you are possibly powerless and definitely alone. But you're not alone. Someone, a native of this world, has ended up tangled into this whole affair with you, whether they want it or not. You can't turn that down. They're your only ally, your only anchor in this brand new world. Maybe, just maybe, they can show you a thing or two to help you back up on your feet. Or, best case scenario, back to your home! When you're out of the frying pan and into the fire, though, nothing is cut and dry. Everything about this world may not be so horrible - it may be fun, even - and this person you've ended up with, oh, they could be worse. In fact, you may be beginning to feel at home with them. Remember. This is not your real home. You want to go back, don't you? And what about the other party? Of course, you may be less than thrilled that you now are playing tour guide to what seems like a crazy person. Perhaps this was out of the kindness of your heart or you may be forced to play babysitter, but it all leads to you keeping an eye out on them. They have to be lying about all this! Sure, they may talk strange, unconsciously insult you, and act like the simplest things confuse them; that has to be an act! ...still, act or not, you're starting to see that there's more to them than their goofy ways and there's more to your feelings toward them than you thought. how to play This meme is inspired heavily by the first Thor movie and also a great deal by those romantic comedies where someone from the past goes into the future or vice versa. Comment with your character and preferences. Don't leave your comment blank! Mention something about your character's world in the comment for the canon blind (ie, "ancient Greece" or "dystopia with kids killing kids - the Japanese version"). It doesn't have to be long, it can even be a few words! If you have any other ideas, include them. Reply to others. Use the RNG - or not. Did they hit their head? argument → No, no, no. You're not going anywhere until we get you some clothes and some help. forced to take them in → You have no other choice but to take this person in. You were either charged with the task or feel guilty. offer of shelter → You actually want to take them in out of the kindness of your heart. depowered → Were you a powerhouse before? Well, now you're an average joe. That'll teach you. misunderstanding → Here, we don't walk around in loin cloths, draw swords, or barely bathe or eat toothpaste. We also don't ride dogs, either. friendly fun → Being around here isn't always bad. You get to see new sights, taste new foods, and make new friends. Your milage may vary on the last one. introduced traditions → Time for the newcomer to show their host something from the old country, so to speak, or the reverse. romantic moment → Dancing or sitting under the stars or your own preference. Should Aoi go take a look at the wreckage, he'll see a rather rundown spaceship, looking nothing like the disk-shaped UFOs that you can see on television. A large part of the structure has already crumbled, so the insides are visible.

All other life that were on that ship appear to have perished in the crash save for one -- a humanoid creature, looking very much like a young man with the exception of his paler-than-average skin. For some reason, he's bound to the wall in huge, titanium shackles, almost like they were trying to keep him in.

It doesn't take long for him to notice Aoi. Even in this precarious position, he has a smile to offer. ]

But, well, here she is. She was 'lucky' enough to be picked up by some boy (ugh) when she arrived, which, admittedly, beats floundering around homelessly, but is not the ideal situation in the least. The lack of technology is really putting a dent in her return plans. For now, she's stuck attending this primitive high school with him as his 'cousin.' But, admittedly, there are some upsides to this situation. ]

[Karis didn't really expect to be brought to a different world than Weyward. Sure there were Psynergy Vortexes going on every now and then, but she never thought that accidentally being pushed in one would do anything more than take her Psynergy from her. Of course, getting caught by one wasn't a harmless thing and often led to a sort of danger that you needed to avoid. Seeing how Rief had almost been killed by one...

But to be caught in one and end up in a completely different world from her own? That was the real kicker. Sure Mako was kind of a jerk, but he had been helpful in his own way. And really... she was used to babysitting hot heads. She was usually the one who had to smack Tyrell if he nearly set a building on fire by accident. Or not. Regardless, something about Mako reminded her of Tyrell. Perhaps that was what made her more comfortable talking to him and could deal with his attitude from time to time.

The moment she heard about Amon and learned about all of the bending here, she knew she wanted to help. She may have been brought her by fate, although she wasn't so sure if she believed in something like that or not. All she knew was that Amon was clearly a dangerous man and let's face it. Karis had control over wind, but it had nothing to do with air bending. She doubted Amon could take away her Djinni. Even if he did, all the Djinni did was power her psynergy. But then there was the possibility that he could some how take that from her. It was unfamiliar to Amon and maybe that was what would help them out in the end.]

[ So rumours have been going around for the last hour or so that there's a young man making some trouble. Not getting into fights, exactly, but making people uncomfortable, asking about some place called New York, and honestly, acting a little crazy. He's not exactly inciting a riot, but he's not easy to miss, either; his clothes certainly don't fit in, and he's been wandering the streets looking somewhat panicked for a good while now. At this point, of course, people are generally avoiding him -- and he's not one to want to cause a scene in the event of people already calling him crazy.

[ Now, he's wandered down to a train station, and the confusion is palpable. People don't take as much notice, here - a glance or two, maybe - but it does nothing to help. Everything is wrong. Even the fucking time period, apparently, and he's already tried escaping the dream, but he isn't dreaming. This is real -- or maybe it isn't, and that scares him even more.

When Kagan wakes up, he thinks maybe he's still dreaming. That happens, especially after long nights out drinking. Dreams bleed into other dreams which bleed into other dreams and then suddenly you're puking all over yourself and it hits you that the bliss of slumber is a lie. Wherever this is, with its noise and its bricks and its metallic boxes with shiny black bundles that reek like rubbish and its... weird steamcarriages and strange smokey smells must be a dream, must be another lie.

But he blinks, and he pinches himself, and none of it fades away. It feels real, too. He might be hungover, but he's still sane (probably), so whatever this is... he's got to figure that out.

Kagan gets up, rubs a shaking hand over his stubbly face, rubs his eyes and his temples and makes a sound like waking up, and he cautiously exits the alleyway. Everything is lights and shining colors, so different from the muted ones he's used to back in Grumall. Everything's bright and clean, and he wonders if this is what Vermallia is like -- he's never been there, the capital had always been Glen's obsession, never his. He stares in place for a long moment before his eyes settle on something somewhat familiar -- a bookstore.

Better to start there than... well, almost anywhere else. Books meant knowledge, right? Books meant smart people who read books and wore spectacles and would know where the hell he was and maybe even have a guess as to how he got here in a drunken stupor. He crosses the street and nearly has the piss scared out of him by the sharp honking sound of one of the brightly-colored steamcarriages which nearly end up hitting him -- fuck, they move fast.

Once inside the shop, Kagan curses out the bell above the door for being a loud little fucker, and calls out, "'llo? Little help, here?"

she lifted herself up and shook her head, pushing against the pavement and looking around expecting to see her room -- but her eyes widened as they came into focus. buildings, taller than she had ever seen! lights and machina were everywhere and people... there were so many people!

she had no idea where this place was... had the dragons plucked her from the havens and taken her somewhere else in her sleep? she started to walk slowly, not having the faintest idea of where to go. but she had to figure something out.... )

I can't... read any of these signs. ( she frowned, moving onto the next. but lucky for her -- there just so happened to be a crowd of young men ahead that looked just overwhelmingly helpful with their colourful collection of hair-dos. she seemed to have gotten their attention, which was lucky -- because most everyone else was ignoring her.
