Looks like the weather forecast was right; it's absolutely pouring! And most people are complaining about the sudden downpour.

But forget those negative nellies! Just post a comment with your series name and character name as usual, as well as any other notes you wish to add, then pick a prompt using the RNG and get started!

1. OMG RAIN!!!

Rain is just the BEST THING EVER, RIGHT?! Well, that's what you think and you're determined to have a good time. Either going for a walk or splashing through puddles or even just sitting around and getting wet, you're going to milk every second of this rain and drag your friends along for the ride.

2. FUCK YOU, RAIN.

Oh god, it's raining. This just completely ruins your day. Maybe you were planning to go shopping but the roads are still flooded up, or because the school closed thanks to the storm, you need to hire a last minute babysitter for your kids. Whatever the reason for it, you're not pleased about this rain and you don't care what anyone else thinks.

3. RAIN SIEGE

Oh lord, it looks like you're stuck inside. It's raining too hard for you to even think of leaving! Will you make a daring escape in a ridiculous raincoat or will you just give up and watch TV? But what if you run out of snacks? Or the TV reception dies?!

4. A WALK IN THE RAIN

Nothing like the sound of rain beating against your umbrella, right? You don't really care either way about the chaos and even though it's chilly, the one thing you want to do today is head out for a walk in the rain and maybe grab a hot chocolate on the way back.

*He glances up as he's placing his own order, then casually turns in his chair, arm draped over the back of it like an armrest.*

I wonder if they got any good shots.

*And Alastor tends to be a bit of a camera hog, he loves the spotlight. But again, that's secondary to actual effectiveness.*

[Just then the TV cuts in to that cheek kiss from earlier. There's wolf-whistles in the bar and Kotetsu elbows Alastor with a grin.]

Tch, NOW I see why you wanted to save the girl first!

*He turns a darker shade of purple and swats at Kotetsu's arm.*

Hey, that had nothing to do with it! I just wanted to take care of the injured person first!

[That is not going to help your case, Alastor. Goaded on, Kotetsu fakes a swoon.]

Geeze, so defensive! And you even PRINCESS carried her! It must be love!

[He is absolutely joking. Mostly. Because if we count the number of times HE'S gotten princess-carried...]

*Better watch out, there's a smack incoming.*

Why don't you try naming a better way to carry someone without risking hurting them more!

[He blocks this one, waving the other hand in a 'truce' gesture.]

Alright, alright! You... do know I'm just giving you a hard time, right?

*He huffs, then relaxes with a bit of a chuckle and a shrug.*

Of course. I'm not really mad, I would've hit you a lot harder than that if I was.

[Well, that's true. Kotetsu's been in enough fights with Alastor to tell that blow didn't have nearly the power it could have.

Still stings though. He shakes his arm, pulling an exaggerated face.]

I don't get you, Sparky. You play so hard for the camera, but the sceond someone actually comments on it BAM! Shut down!

Playing for the camera is one thing, I love drama and acting just comes naturally to me. But when it comes to credit for good deeds...I'm just not used to it.

So fake stuff doesn't bother you but real stuff does?

[Messed up. The drinks arrive, and Kotetsu takes a swig of his whiskey.]

I've kept this off the cameras so the public doesn't get paranoid, but I used to be a legitimate villain. I worked for an organization bent on world domination and everything.

*He pours himself out a glass of wine and takes a sip while he lets that sink in.*

It was against my nature to hurt innocents, but I was determined to have a properly demonic image. Faking is what I'm good at, what I'm used to. Actually doing good and getting recognized for it? It's new, I'm still figuring out how to deal with it.

[Kotetsu balks, then considers. What's he going to do, arrest the guy? On reflection, Alastor's never actually hurt anyone - well, not anyone who wouldn't just bounce back swearing and deck him.]

Yeah, but people have figured out you're a demon. You sure yell about it a lot.

[The people of Sternbild are ~~maybe purposefully~~ a little blind, but come on.]

*He's very obviously the reformed sort of villain. Not that he was ever really evil in the first place, just trying too hard to be.*

I mean an image fitting for a demon. In case you hadn't noticed, I don't exactly fit the common description of a devil.

But even though I'm over that now, I don't want to pretend to be human. It just doesn't feel right, relying on nobody knowing what I am to keep them calm around me.

[Kotetsu nods - he... kind of gets where Alastor is going? Trying to figure out where you fall - Oh yeah, that's a fun journey. ]

Having to hide what you are sucks. I was terrible at it. Couldn't wait to be a Hero...

I tried it for a few centuries when I was younger. It worked, I didn't have to deal with people assuming I was going to kill them and steal their soul, but there was always kind of a distance with that. Like they didn't really know me. And that's what I'm used to. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to actually be able to be honest about myself now, but it's sort of a big change to get used to.

[Kotetsu knocks back his whiskey, then signals for another one.]

Yeah. I can understand that, I guess. But why tell me this? I mean, hey, it's your dime, but...

[But what? He's not trying to end the conversation, it's just - well, this is the sort of thing you'd usually talk about with a friend...]

*Shrug.*

You thought it was strange that I was more awkward with the truth than with acting. This is why. Besides, I figure you've seen enough of me to know whether or not I'm sincere about helping people when they need it, so I shouldn't have to worry too much about telling you a bit of my past.

[Kotetsu nods, and the conversation trails off. For a minute, he watches the television, and the leader board come up. He's still solidly in 4th, and that's fine. Alastor's gotten more points, too. Briefly, he wonders what the deal is with that...

The thought is interrupted by the waiter delivering the second drink.]

Were you going to get food? I'm starving!

*He's not surprised he picked up a few points there. It wasn't really on his mind beyond Agnes mentioning it, but he had gone in there specifically to play hero.*

Go ahead, I guess you've earned a meal on my dime.

Oh? Great, thanks!

[He smiles threateningly, but does not actually order the entire menu.

The analysts have gone into point breakdowns now. Normally Kotetsu would have switched off - he was there, after all - but then they cut to the end of the fire, showing "+100" as Wild Tiger pulls Alastor from the smoke.]

I get food AND points from you? Huh. Not bad. Maybe I should save your ass more often?

*He raises an eyebrow at that smile as he places his own order. Demon or not, he apparently has pretty normal taste in food for a modern human.*

Good luck with that, I don't need saving very often.

Kinda surprised you let me save you, really.

...Are you really going to eat that much cake?

*He takes a sip from his wine as he tries to figure out how to put this.*

It's true, there are some situations where I'd rather die than accept someone's help. But that's a matter of the intent of the rescue. If I'd thought you were actually trying to get me in your debt or thought you were acting out of pity, I would have insisted on living or dying by my own abilities. But you don't strike me as the type to help someone because you want something out of them or out of arrogant pity.

And yes, I am going to eat that much cake. Demonic metabolisms are faster than human ones, especially for magic users like me.
