Clara Murphy | Robocop (2014) | Non-canon shipping is unlikely, but feel free to ask :)
Phrase: "swelling vulnerability"
Sentence: "The cry vanishes!"
shipping unlikely in any event ^_^ mid or post canon, any pref?
So he owed her this much, he thought, standing on the doorstep again, gloved hands knotting together, the sound of the doorbell echoing inside the house, the air feeling much, much colder than it was, knowing he was probably the last person she wanted to see. "Mrs Murphy?"
ahahaha that would end terribly omg XD post-canon works for me!
What had started out as a day to get things in the house (in her life, really) back in order had ended up being a day binge watching both seasons of Firefly in a pair of lurid green yoga pants with a Hello Kitty knock-off printed on them (a gag gift from Alex, back when they were much younger and the thought of marriage hadn't even occurred to them), no make-up, and her hair shoved up into a messy ponytail. Which is why it took her by complete surprise to hear the doorbell chime. Despite how much she wanted to just let them decide that she wasn't home, her curiosity bested her.
The moment that she saw it was Dr. Norton, she wanted to slam the door in his face and walk away, petty as it may be. But no matter what he had done, that didn't change the fact that Alex was still here because of him, so she can't bring herself to be too rude to him.
"Dr. Norton." She gives him a small nod, her ponytail bouncing around at the movement. "Would you like to come inside?"
there would definitely be 'hitting with a handbag' involved.
It made it that much harder to intrude, the house a little bubble of memories of happier times. He looked behind him, where he'd parked his car, having some second thoughts, before turning back with a nod. "I...I think perhaps that's best, Mrs Murphy."
No, that didn't sound dire at all. He sighed at his own ineptness. "It's about Alex--your husband." She could probably have guessed that.
at the very least.
Once Norton was in the house, she swung the door shut. While she would usually have better manners and offer to take his coat and offer him something to drink, the way he had said it made her worried that something had happened.
"Is he okay?"

So far he's found no properly isolated places around the town of Beacon Hills. He's starting to become worried: if he can't find a place far enough away from humans, his wolf form will be maddened more than ever by their scent. It might even break its magical restraints in order to attack them. He won't risk that. He'd die before he would bite another human.
But as he gains the top of a ridge in the woods he sees something very promising: the skeletal hulk of a building, burned out and racked with new growth in the forest that will try to take back the land from its old owners. A big house like this must have a cellar and foundations, Remus thinks. A perfect place to imprison himself for the night of the full moon. He breaks into a trot and heads toward the old Hale house, unaware that he's being followed by a fellow werewolf who knows much more of the house than he does.]

Perhaps the bigger mystery ought to have been why the drinks arrived in the first place, but Haru only thinks of that later, and by that time it's too late to turn back. Because the martini glasses full of foamy pink and white swirls smell and taste so sweet that you'd never know there was alcohol in them. Not, at any rate, until several rounds in when the damage is irreversible, at least for the rest of the evening.
By that time, Haru doesn't think he can stop the cascade as round after round arrives at their table, each a new adventure in color and taste, foamy or layered or brightly garnished. They might as well be candy.
They might as well be liquid risk, too, because who knows what bad ideas are likely to follow when the evening starts with this much alcohol that Haru never intended to consume.
Lifting one of the shot glasses that have just been set in front of them, Haru holds the creamy liquid up to the light.] It looks like they made cupcakes into a drink.

Mmm... like melty frosting~. [—Licks his lips, and starts to suck some sprinkles off the rim.
Sure, the inordinately tall boy may be able to pass as older and more intimidating than he actually is, but only for a while. If his simplistic, ditzy way of speaking doesn't shatter that misconception immediately then having to deal with him for a minute or more should.
Even his tastes are juvenile. Straight alcohol would get spit out immediately but these drinks are made like perfect little traps for unsuspecting giant purple lumps. Masked with bright colors, flavors that are anything but bitter alcohol, and cute garnishes, he's taken to each new drink with delight.]
Nanase should try some. It's really sweet, though. I think... sweeter than the last one.
[His usually bored expression now has a permanent little smile, courtesy of the warm giddiness he's been feeling.]

Perhaps, too, he should be worried that Murasakibara's demeanor might be getting more childlike the more they drink. But then maybe that's only his imagination.
If it weren't for the first few rounds Haru would probably be more reserved, more circumspect. But as it stands, Murasakibara seems stuck on smiling and maybe it's contagious because Haru feels pretty stuck on smiling too, and the pair of them together probably look ridiculous but he doesn't care.
He runs a finger around the rim of his glass, knocking sprinkles into the milky liquid (and a few accidentally onto the table) and watching them bleed trails of color.] Now it looks like drinking a rainbow.
[And he lifts the glass to his lips and, once he's swallowed it down, takes to chasing the escaped sprinkles across the tabletop (including--he doesn't even notice--over to Murasakibara's half of it), trying to collect them up by pressing the pad of his forefinger against them one at a time.]
