I just want more variety. I don't even personally want shipping and smut and I was still happy to see a smut/shipping meme as actually different as the Created For Each Other meme. (But give it a month or three before reposting it, too.)

I like shipping memes but I admit like half the characters I play are not smuttable. For a variety of reasons. So, maybe some more options like father/son dynamic or best galpals or 'it's never going to happen UST' or something like those to give nonsexual ships *some* space in among all the shippierships?

I sorta would prefer to see memes that can be played as gen, shipping and smut? Sort of like the random scenario meme, but not so broad in scope.

Maybe something like a modified version of the movie meme, where you can be in a theatre, at home with friends or a partner, rather than have a film as the starting comment.

i'd really like to see 'themed' or 'genre-based' dressing rooms in sort of the same vein as sportshell. it'll allow characters to have something in common while also giving you the variety of a panfandom-ish setting

My main complaint with all these smut/shipping memes is some of the basic premises would work for gen too, or they could be combined with similar or niche memes that don't get many comments.

Pet!person AU meme? Pet friends hanging out in the park! That kooky villain of yours kidnapping purebred pet people for ransom! Stolen moments meme? Could combine with the 'off to war' meme to include friends and family.

Twincest meme could be part of the doubles/selfcest meme. Cunnilingus and toilet humor could be lumped together. There's at least two soul bond memes. The various first time memes can be combined.

the reason shipping and smut memes have become so prevalent and separated from gen memes is because people get called cockhops or worse if they dare choose the smut or shipping options on an all in one meme.

there's a problem there. maybe look at solving that attitude before we can move forward in solving the meme problem.

the problem everyone is seeing, but many are having difficulty identifying, is an excess of memes. we had gen, shipping, and smut memes posted on saturday for instance in roughly equal numbers, but those numbers were all excessive. this means memes quickly sink to page two or further, killing chances for new threads to start. this in turn makes people impatient to repost memes, and the problem becomes self-perpetuating.

fortunately the worst offenders seems to have stopped being a problem. it seems like it's been a really long time since i saw one of the "rng options that are variously gen or shipping or smut with no particular pattern and they have the name of a color/flower/candy/drink/1987 lego set at the beginning but are otherwise indistinguishable from the other 4365 versions of this meme" memes and that's great! you're on the road to recovery, bakerstreet! keep it up!
