In retrospect, you've probably had these feelings for this person for forever, you've just never noticed them right in front of your eyes. After all, emotions like this don't pop out of nowhere. But it seems like it, because you've just noticed you like - maybe even l.o.v.e. - this person...or at least be attracted to them in a BIG BIG way. Of course, it may have to do with the outside pushes and shoves that had led you to this conclusion; surely, though, there had been hints before. Oh, there were? You never thought about it? You repressed it? You refused to believe?

Well. Reality is here to smack you right in this face, probably at the least oppertune moments. That's how these realizations tend to work. Who this person is to you - classmate, ally, brother in arms, worst enemy, best friend - varies, and so can your reaction. You can be embarrassed, confess from the highest mountain, continue to ignore those feelings because that's completely healthy, or let your instinct run wild and kiss them right on the mouth. It's all up to you.

[Being a superhero generally means getting beat up. A lot, often, and pretty brutally. And as much as she enjoys helping people, the aftermath is not that much fun. It's even worse when somebody you're close to is the one beat up.

Especially when she's been gone for a while and a beat up Hawkeye is the first thing she sees. Which, honestly, isn't all that surprising but it doesn't stop her from giving him a careful hug.]

[ it's such a stupid thing to have gotten stuck in his head. it's not like it really meant anything. allison was just kidding around, she didn't mean it. but still...

ever since allison made an offhand joke about scott and stiles being like more of a couple than the two of them ever had been, scott hasn't been able to forget it. at first he just laughed it off -- that's just how he and stiles are, they've been friends for so long they can be an old married couple sometimes, it happens to everyone who's had a friend that long. and then he kept thinking about it, and now he can't stop. is their friendship really that strange?

scott's never been very good at subtlety, so stiles might have noticed the way scott's started staring at him all the time. he has a lot to work through, okay, and stiles is just really nice to look at.

do friends think that about just friends? ]

[ Stiles has indeed noticing the staring, a lot actually, but he just attributes it to it being Scott, because he's nothing if not observant and he notices things, okay? Like Greenberg's epic crush on Coach- sure, NOW everyone knows but he picked up on it back in Freshman year during their first Lacrosse tryouts. So yeah, he's noticed.

It didn't bother him at all, not really, he's used to Scott's brand of weird now that he goes wolfy once a month, but he'd be lying if he said it wasn't kind of annoying after awhile. He wonders just what Scott is looking at. Is there something on his face? Is there something about Stiles he's trying to figure out?

He tries to ignore it for awhile, cuz Stiles has done his fair share of staring when Scott first got turned, trying to figure shit out and, you know, just looking. Cuz Scott was nice to look at and objectively he knows he's hot.

Finally, Stiles can't take it anymore, because the suspense and curiosity is killinggg hiiiiiim. ]

Dude, what? Why are you staring at me- and don't tell me you're not because you have been for, like, a week now. What gives, bro?

[ goddamn you for being so observant, stiles. scott blinks at him like a deer caught in the headlights, unsure of what to say.

He then opens his mouth to say something snide or snarky, but snaps his mouth shut. There are moments, small as they may be, where Stiles can not be a dick.

It occurs to him then that maybe Scott wants to talk about something but doesn't know how to bring it up. That it might be important or serious or something and he needs Stiles to be Serious-Stiles for once and not just make a joke out of everything.

Setting down his pencil and abandoning his homework for the moment and swivels around in his computer chair to look seriously and earnestly at his best friend. ]
