VEGAS WEDDING MEME

Each year more than 90,000 people get married in Las Vegas. With hundreds of wedding chapels, Vegas has a plethora of choices. In addition to specialty and historic chapels located within the city, Las Vegas hotel wedding chapels offer visitors a myriad of ways to tie the knot.

WEDDING STYLE

1. Elvis Impersonators: They're everywhere, and can not only help you tie the knot but sing at your reception too!
2. Drive-Thru: Vegas has a slew of wedding chapels, but none are more convenient than the ones that you don't even have to leave the car for!
3. Lavish and Fancy: Vegas is also the site of many of the most elaborate dream weddings, each bigger and more awe-inspiring than the last!
4. Star Trek/Star Wars: Who doesn't want a Starfleet captain or Jedi knight officiating their wedding?
5. Shotgun Wedding: For the couple whose wedding is not complete without shooting exotic firearms together...
6. Underwater: Put on that suit or dress, grab your scuba gear, and that sign that says "I do!" because you are getting married under water!
7. Other: You can get get just about any wedding you want in a place like Vegas. Obligatory choose-your-own-adventure option!


CIRCUMSTANCES

1. Pre-Planned: You got engaged and both decided to get married in Vegas! You've planned every detail of your wedding and the big day is here!
2. Spur of the Moment: You're in Vegas for vacation, or maybe a show. Neither of you had marriage on the brain until you passed by all of those chapels...
3. Left to chance: You're both thinking about it, but do you go through with it or not? Why not leave it to chance and a roll of the dice?
4. Hey I just met you: And this is crazy, but here's a ring so marry me maybe?
5. Drunk: So you may have had one drink too many, but that's why this seems like such a good idea!
6. Whoops: Okay you really don't know how it happened but you woke up with a ring on your finger and someone next to you in bed...

[Danae dreams of french fries, which seem like a damned luxury considering the current state of the world. Licking her lips in her sleep, she rolls over in bed, arm flinging out to clothesline Chuck across his chest with a smack. The silver ring on her finger is light enough to escape her notice as she considers how much better the french fries would be if she had a chocolate shake to dip them into...

It's the growling of her stomach that slowly wakes her, making her wonder if her dreams of drive-through were prompted from something during their drunken binge last night. Had they picked up burgers somewhere? Maybe that was it. Maybe that was why all she could think about was a late-night munchies run. Surely it had nothing to do with the cheap white veil on a headband, still tangled in her hair, or the marriage certificate being pinned to the hotel room table with a pair of empty beer bottles. Right?

Groaning, she tentatively opens her eyes, and finding herself too tired to move her limbs, she instead blows air at Chuck's face to see if he's awake yet.]

His head was killing him, and his arm was asleep, an oddly warm weight on top of it. Connor knew he should have reacted a bit faster, opened his eyes and looked around and figured out what the hell was going on, but the bed was so soft and so was the weight on his arm, not to mentioned it smelled like warmth and cloves and fresh cut grass with the faint hint of sex–

Oh god no he was in bed with a woman. With a specific woman.

His hangover was secondary to this issue. Bleary, he forced himself to open his eyes and figure out why he had Clover in his bed. Raising his right hand to shake her awake- she was curled against him and oh no no he was hard he hadn’t woken up hard since puberty- only to notice the glint of gold on his ring finger. Connor grabbed for Clover’s hand, only to see another glint there- albeit with more diamonds.

As quickly as he could, he scooted to the other side of his bed in their very nice hotel room- why had he spent the assassin funds to get a very very nice hotel room?- and called her name from there.

“Clover. Clover. Wake up.”

Clover doesn't really sleep well without the aid of some other substance, and that seems to be the case here. She wakes up with a headache and a muffled male voice calling her name. It takes her a second, stretching out like a cat before rolling onto her back, away from Connor, before she opens her eyes.

And this was definitely not the Vegas den she had met Connor at. She looks over her shoulder, head throbbing, and sees the man in question perched at the side of the bed-- naked, which in itself, was a blessing, but looking exceedingly worried. And oh, that's a ring on his finger. She draws her own left hand up before realizing there's a ring on her ring finger too. She raises her eyebrows. Well. This is certainly something.

"Do you realize a drunken Vegas marriage is a terrible cliche I refuse to subscribe to?"

[Raleigh Becket is not so secretly a Star Wars dork and a lightweight. Combine that with Vegas and Mako and well-- he's waking up the next morning, curled around her which is nothing new at all. He loves snuggling with Mako, even if she sometimes kicks him in her sleep.

She's on break from school and it's the first time that's happened and they're both twenty one and why not take a trip to Vegas?

It's a bad idea because they're both sporting new jewelry on their left hands, and vague memories of a wedding officiated by a man dressed as Jedi and it's entirely unplanned or seriously talked about and by the by, her father's going to murder him. And then Yancy is going to bash his head in. And Mako will be a widow after like a week.]

Mmmph. [Raleigh is nuzzling her neck now, it's too early to freak out about that right now.] Morning.

[It's kind of a joke, there's no Elvis impersonator or giant flowers, the rings are actually from a gumball machine, bought at the grocery store along with the makings for a picnic in their hotel room. Which is really just wine and sandwiches and his mother is probably rolling over in her grave because of that.

Jaz is stretched out on the bed, fiddling with the plastic thing on his finger. It doesn't fit at all and the weight is uncomfortable and maybe it's not really that much of a joke.]

His head hurt. That was all he was able to discern as he slowly, unwillingly came to. There was a faint taste of hyper vodka still in his mouth, and 'Viva Las Vegas' was playing from an old tape player somewhere near his head - either of which could be responsible for the splitting headache. He decided it was a good sign that it was a recording singing, and that he hadn't decided it would be a good idea to visit Elvis in person in a drunken stupor the night before.

Drunken stupor? He couldn't remember the last time he'd had one of them.

It would probably be a good idea to crawl back to the TARDIS now, before anything remotely adventurous snuck up on him. With an unhappy groan he flopped a hand to his face to rub it, only to be met with a cold band of gold around his finger. That really, really was not a good sign. He was rapidly becoming hyper aware of his surroundings, despite the hangover. There was the distinct smell of a Vegas hotel room and a woman’s perfume hanging in the air.

No, no, nonoo. This wasn’t happening. All he had to do was open his eyes and he would find the TARDIS in a strangely tropical mood, exuding all sorts of weird smells through the vents, and he could have gone on an Elvis bender last night, you know! All he had to do was open his eyes and.. oh, this was definitely not the TARDIS. Portraits of Elvis hung around the hawaiian-themed room, and a familiar red-head was laying next to him in the bedsheets.

The details were a bit scarce in her mind as she awoke that morning, but one thing was certain: the bed she was in was rather comfortable. Not completely awake yet, she rolls towards the other side, snuggling into the warm person next to her. Sighing with contentment, she relaxes again.

Until she realizes the person she's sleeping next to doesn't feel all that familiar to her as far as sleeping partners go.

Opening her eyes, she manages to tug herself away from the comfort and the warmth to get a look at who it is she's lying next to.

"David...?" Her expression goes from tired curiosity to confusion.

"I have always wanted to wear one of these dresses," Isabelle declared cheerfully - drunkenly, if she was totally honest, since that was sort of how the beginning of the night went. That said, when they went out for a few drinks earlier that evening, she definitely didn't expect to end up getting married, but sometimes a little spontaneity was fun. Right now was one of those times. She had picked a rather gorgeous dress of gold that clung to her in all the right places, and found someone who was willing to do her hair up in a strangely ornate hairstyle full of loops and hairpins.

She was swaying dangerously now on her seven-inch-heel boots, plucking thoughtfully at the wispy layers of gold fabric that billowed out around here. Her attention waned from that, and she glanced over to Desmond gleefully, sending him a warm grin. "It's kind of pretty, isn't it?"

[ Leaving Starling City wasn't something that happened often for either of them; extenuating circumstances, such as these, seemed to be the exception. Another escapee from Iron Heights Prison; and that made Oliver bear the responsibility. His city, his criminals to keep locked away. The man, Sean Sonus, had stolen high end military weaponry, based on ultrasonic sound waves, and fled to Vegas with the intention of finding a buyer. This wasn't something that he could pull off as the 'Arrow' alone; he had called in a few favors with his Bratva contacts...it was believable that the Russians would be interested, and it kept him from having to blow his cover.

This wasn't a solo mission; he had already known that he as going to need Felicity's expertise, more than that, she kept him balanced. Creating a reason for her to be with him all the time, that had proven a little more difficult. It was a hard sell, claiming that he brought his personal assistant with him everywhere. Digg had been the first one to suggest it; at first Oliver had sent him a look as if the other man was crazy...but it worked. The best option, bar none.

Their plane had landed in Las Vegas an hour ago; now they were in the penthouse suite at Mandalay Bay. Dinner later that evening would serve as a meeting but they had plenty of time until then. Oliver had already shrugged off his jacket and pulled his tie loose; he was digging through some of his luggage, until he produced a small black box, held in one hand ]

[ This was truly a case of "well that escalated quickly". What had started as a chance for everyone to actually take a break and enjoy themselves (without the use of weaponry or other bodily harm) had quickly become a game of one-upmanship among them.

So of course, when you tell Heavy that he can't make Miss Pauling Mrs Pauling (or would she be Mrs Weapons Guy?), you can bet he'll prove you wrong.

His borrowed tux seems to be holding on for dear life, but he does look a bit dashing. Drunk, but dashing. The team has seen fit to attend in the schmaltzy little chapel, and provide no shortage of hooting and heckling. But hey, what's important here is the romance.
