[Best way to comfort someone is to give them cake, in Haru's opinion. This works for her most of the time, even though she tries to rationize the amount of cake she eats every month.

It occurs to her that Byakuran doesn't know that word's meaning. He eats sweets like they're food, and while Haru would like nothing better than to instruct him on the dangers of high sugar levels in blood and the pleasure that comes from holding back from something, now is not the moment. He's sad.

She didn't exactly plan to become this close to this man (boy?), because she still remembered who he would be, what he had done in the future. But she'd studied books on time travel and alternative universes, asked her father's university colleagues to explain facts to her, and she realized, in the end, that the young Byakuran wasn't as the old Byakuran. There was a lacking dangerous streak. Most of the times, he was funny - a little like Hibari, or Gokudera, in a way - which was what had drawn her to him, when the families had begun to cooperate.

And now, here she is, baking him cupcakes because all the stores in Italy are closed before Easter. This should definitely make him happy!]
