The Icons First Meme



The premise is pretty simple:

1) Go to post a comment.
2) Before you type anything, click the "Random icon" button.
3) This is now your icon. This is the expression your character has. This is what she is wearing. This is what he has in his mouth. This is what is happening.
3) Your tag must now be based on the icon.
4) Reply to others, always choosing a random icon first.
5) Let the hijinks occur!

Note: As the poster of this meme, I have no problems with nsfw icons, and in fact think they can add to instruction #5. Just give your threadmates a little warning for a happy and healthy meme-ing experience.

[Most people would back off when Winry makes that face. Most people do not practice Surf Therapy. Stitch has it on expert authority that there's no better cure for the blues then a couple of boards and some choice waves!]

Yeah, but later! Break time!

[Grabbing Winry's hand, he practically drags her back over to the scrap wood and begins digging. He holds up several pieces, checking the height.]

Nope... no... uh-uh... Ha! This one!

[Picking off the splinters, he hands it to Winry. They're out of waves, but Stitch can show Winry the basics!]

[Winry starts to say she needs to go and work on her design, but Stitch is such an engaging little fellow.]

Okay, it's a board....

[Yes! She's in! Whoo! Stitch throws his own scrap into the water. He kneels, and begins paddling out. It's awkward - nothing like the sleek boards he's used to, but at least solid enough to float!

After a few strokes, he excitedly waves that Winry should come in to!]

[He was good about cheering her up, but Winry couldn't figure out how Stitch was floating. He weighed, well, a lot, and she knew he really should weigh down that piece of board more than he did! How?]

Okay, I'm coming!

[She picks up the board Stitch left her, but mutters under her breath as she paddles out.]

[Sorry, Winry. We are operating under alien/Disney physics here, which are... arbitrary, to say the least. If you ever meet Jumba, you can have a nice long argument about it!

In any case, Stitch is floating, and beams as his new friend begins making her way out. The balance is off, and she's wobbling.]

Lean forward, both arms stroke together. See?

[AND SHE WILL.]

[But she is listening to Stitch, and stroking through the water as best she can on a straight board.]

[Oh, wait. Maybe she's getting this!]

I can float! Like a boat!

[Please, no sounds of music refrains.]

[Stitch would LOVE to see that argument! He will bring the popcorn and the laser guns!

It's very exciting, having someone to teach. She hasn't fallen off yet, so that's good! (Of course, she will. Eventually. Everyone does - but the important thing is to keep trying!) Still, it's too early for Winry to be standing up - Stitch tugs her back down to the kneel.]

No, no, not yet! Get used to board first! Too bad no waves - maybe try turning?

[It would be glorious, and probably pyrotechnic. Uh. Very pyrotechnic.]

Okay, okay!

[Winry crouches down on the board again.]

So, how do I turn?

I am mostly killing time until the surf icon comes up ;)

[Glorious and pyrotechnic? Stitch's VERY favorite things! Well, besides Elvis. And Lilo. 3rd and 4th favorite things!]

Paddle one side to turn. Like a boat! Winry ever go on a boat?

[And determined! And she just uses one hand to paddle in a circle. Kind of. With a plank.]

[Considering that her 'surfboard' is not the best, Winry's doing really really well! Stitch nods and then decide to demonstrate how to stand. He jumps up, all in one motion.]

Okay! Now try that!

[Deep below them, there's another rumble starting to build. Sounds like the gun isn't quite out of juice yet!]

[BUT STITCH IS SO LOW TO THE GROUND AND HIS CENTER OF GRAVITY IS VERY DIFFERENT THAN HERS.]

[Winry's nothing if not game, and tries to leap up on her board.]

[And falls right into the water.]

Okay, I just tried to do the surf jump up and OW.

[Stitch winces. Oops. Well, that happens to most people! The water isn't very deep though, so he's able to help Winry back on. Then he steadies the board.]

Almost! Have to jump up all at once, see?

[The rumbles are getting stronger.]

I surfed. Once. It was so much fun. I was SOOOO BRUISED.

Okay!

[Winry's all smiles and willing to try again, despite the funky purple glow that keeps getting brighter below the surface of the lake.]

[She jumps up again, this time managing to keep both feet on the board.]

I'll bet! Oh! I did go boogie boarding once! :P

[A small wave ripples to the surface, along with a gust of wind. Perfect beginner step! Stitch points eagerly.]

Watch!

[Crouching down again, he paddles in, stands, and rides it to the shore a few yards away. Hardly a big curl, but Winry should get the idea!

A few more curls begin to rise, one right by the mechanic.]

I loved it, but everyone wondered about my skinned nose for a week.

[Winry tries, she does, but she slips again - and hits her head on the board.]

Oowwww....

[The wave picks her up anyway, but she gets splashed in the face from the wave.]

Skinned NOSE?!

[Stitch isn't laughing at her expense - he's just so pleased to be out on the water, any water! And he's going to make a surfer of her, you'll see! He strokes back over, chattering encouragement as Winry spits out water.]

That's good! Better then Stitch! When I go on my first time, I get stuffed in the barrel by Jumba and nearly drown!

[If Winry understands half of that, it's... probably not going to be very comforting! But he's trying!]

Fell off the board, scraped along the sand under the water?

[Winry doesn't have a clue, but she's used to listening to alchemists babble incomprehensible alchemy-speak, so.]

Thanks, Stitch, I'll try again.

[Another wave, somewhat larger, rocks her plank. This time, Winry uses that momentum to push up onto the board, managing to stay balanced up there for a few seconds]

Wow!

[before pitching off.]

[The waves are now cresting into white. Stitch finally registers the hum, glow... and what has to be their source. Frantically, he waves at Winry]

Winry! Not safe, get on!

[He heaves her onto his board, bracing. He can feel the energy building, feeding into larger and larger curls.]

Hang on!

[hands4healing]

[Winry grabs hold of Stitch - he's heavy and she can brace herself against him, but the wave!]

Get us out of here!

[mapsincolor]

You got it!

[Furiously, he paddles them around, cutting in at an angle. As the wave lifts them up, he lets out an ecstatic whoop!]

YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA!

[hands4healing]

[Winry is not so cavalier to whoop ecstatically, the sound that comes out of her mouth is more scream-y and less whoop-y.]

I've got to work on trigger and punch ratio for this gun!

[There's only the rush now - water and wind and the incredible amount of pure energy under their feet. Stitch has time for one more scream of excitement before the shore rushes up, too fast, and they both go tumbling off the board. Stitch wheezes, still laughing.]

Eeeeeeeheeeeheee!

[Winry flails around as she tumbles, not laughing, exactly, more making a peculiar, wheezing, 'hee hee' sound.]

[Scrambling over, Stitch asseses the damage. No harm done! At least to Winry. The pond, the remains of the barn, the surfboard... that's another story! His grin is so wide that every single tooth is on display, and his ears twitch at their highest, happiest level.]

Sooooooo... want to go again?!
