THE HOLY GRAIL WAR MEME.

The HOLY GRAIL WAR Meme
Who will it be?
For those unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero, you can find a better explanation of the Holy Grail War here. (Note: The Holy Grail War in Fate/EXTRA functions in a dramatically different way, and one not followed for purposes of this meme.)
Instructions
1. Comment with your character. In the subject line, put that character's name, canon, and which role (Master, Servant, or either) you would like them to fulfill. Add other preferences if you would like. (NOTE: If your character can fill the role of Servant, I suggest you state which class(es) -- Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, or Berserker -- they fall into.)
2. Reply to others' comments. Pick your character's role (and the other character's if they list "Either" as their preference), then use the RNG to pick a scenario that fits the two characters' roles.
3. Enjoy! Though there might be triggers, depending on how the prompts are interpreted.
TWO MASTERS
1. Battle. Who says that Servants get to have all the fun? After all, most Masters try to kill each other, too. Whatever the circumstances, the two of you are locked in a fight. Neither of you are willing to use your Command Spells just yet, so no Servants here. Just two magi duking it out.
2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?
3. Protection. Uh-oh! One of you has lost your Servant! Unfortunately, there's no way you'd get to the church safely on your own, so the other one will help you get there! Or maybe you don't trust the priest presiding over the Holy Grail War and are giving shelter to them yourself? Given their track record, no one would blame you.
4. Death. One or both of you lay dying. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in the presence of one of your rivals?
5. You, Too? Surprise! You may have been friends before, but you've just discovered that you're both Masters! How will you handle this revelation?
6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!
1. Are You My Master? The summoning is complete. Whether intentional or not, catalyst or not, a magus has summoned a Servant. What kind of meeting was it? Was everything totally under control, or did a hitch occur? Or maybe it happened in the middle of a life-or-death situation!
2. Identity. Either the Servant has flat out told the Master their identity, or they unleashed their Noble Phantasm. Either way, the cat is out of the bag. How will the Master react, now that they know their Servant's name and legend? Will anything change between the two?
3. Battle Aftermath. A battle has just ended. Who participated? Are either of you hurt? Did the Master have to use a Command Spell? Any number of things could have happened here.
4. Discord. Uh-oh. It looks like the Master and the Servant don't get along. Here come the arguments! Don't do something stupid, like waste a Command Spell over a triviality...
5. Love. And then, there's the opposite. Sometimes Masters and Servants fall in love with each other. How will this affect things?
6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!
1. Battle. This is what usually happens when two Servants meet -- they duke it out. This probably says enough as it is.
3. The Grail Dialogues. Maybe you're not interested in fighting just yet. Maybe you just want to sit down and talk with the other Servant. Find out what they want, what makes them tick. Get some wine while you're at it -- nothing like good wine to go with good talk!
4. Death. One or both of you lay dying...again. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in this War in the presence of one of your rivals?
5. Identity. Congratulations, you've just learned each other's identities! Will this change the situation, or will you press onward?
6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

why is there no master-servant death prompt lemme fix that
[Waver couldn't quite recall how they'd gotten back home. Actually, he couldn't even remember who they'd been fighting. Blood loss tended to have that effect on coherent thought processes, inconvenient as it was. The version of Waver wearing green leaned heavily against the wall, hand clamped down over a gaping wound in his side.]
Fucking...fuck--!
[His vocabulary, at least, was getting quite the workout.]

Nunnally was far from the normal 'type' who became a master in the contest for the Grail. She could only walk fluidly with the help of her crutches, her family tended towards the militant rather than the magi, even her personality leaned towards pacifism. But that didn't mean she lacked the talent or drive to summon a Servant of her own despite the advice of her older siblings. It wasn't as if Nunnally lacked the strength of will to fight, it was just that she was a bit more selective when it came to committing to such a battle.
So it was with barely hidden relief that she retreated to the suite of rooms she could call her own with all the privacy that entailed. "Caster... we're alone again. I'm sorry my siblings are so stubborn but you really did well in my request not to harm any of them."

Servant/Master - Wildcard option?
However her wish isn't an entirely selfish one. She wants another war to end; the one between both humans and dragons too many people have died needlessly over this petty quarrel between both species and Saft intends to end the fighting once and for all despite being terribly naive about this whole situation. Right now however Saft is having some downtime and trying to keep this whole being a master thing secret. But it's been kind of hard trying to hide her command seal from her friends and family....eventually someone's going to find out.]

[Besides, he liked fighting. And the fact that he wasn't seeing much battle really wasn't something he could really deal with.]
[Rider popped up suddenly behind Saft, clad in his full armor and cloak and complete with an expression of discontent on his bearded face.]
Just how long do you intend to sit around like some lazy Roman??

It was amazingly difficult in the end though. To stand in the shadows of a random textile shop and force herself to watch a midnight battle between Servants while holding her own in check? Nunnally could feel the the waves of will and pride that the Servants had used as well as the subtle strategies as the two Masters had tried to one-up each other as well. But as Nunnally started her slow way back to her upscale hotel suite there was also a sense of sadness in her expression.
"Ne, Rider... Do you ever feel sad? About this war?"

Every fiber of his being told him to jump in and join them; to take them both down in the name of winning the Grail for his Master. But he stayed beside her and tipped the bottle to his lips, nonchalantly.
Dark amber eyes glance up to her as she addresses her.
"Sad? How could one feel sad about combat? It is a glorious expression of strength and skill!" Rider boasted, grinning to the spectacle below. "We all die eventually - dying in battle just makes your end as spectacular and heroic as can be attained by mortals!"

Let me know if this isn't okay!
You're definitely good and card based NP is an awesome call.
I always get so involved with AU things like this.
No apologies and tbh it's Fate, it's got high crossoverability.
That it does.

[Which is a damn understatement as far as Caster's concern. Because Berserker was the Minotaur of Greek legend, his Master had decided to be an obnoxious magus and create a labyrinth for his servant to run around in. Which, in theory, wasn't a bad idea. It kept Berserker contained, and required minimal effort to keep in place.
In practice though, it was absolutely treacherous. With Berserker not leaving the maze, every servant had to go to him, and be subject to terrain that Berserer's Master could rearrange at a moment's notice. Lancer was already gone - gored by Berserker's horns - and Archer had reported that she had barely got out of there alive.
Caster was only working with Rider because of an agreement between their respective Masters. Caster knew the Tohsaka would probably end the alliance with Berserker gone, and he'd be a bit disappointed if that was the case. Rider was easy enough to get along with, really, and at the very least their walk to the labyrinth had allowed them both a much needed chance to blow off steam.
Now though, well, they had just barely gotten away from Berserker twice, and Caster could guess that a third would come soon. They probably look exhausted enough to pick off to Berserker's Master anyway.]
