A triangle? [ can you hear the disbelief, ino? ] I thought constellations were supposed to be animals or people with stories behind them. Not random shapes.
[ a triangle is a horribly disappointing constellation. ]

Yeah... but it's my favorite. It doesn't really have a story so I just made one up.
It reminds me of Ino-Shika-Chou. That constellation there has some of the brightest stars in the sky. [pauses before continuing on blithely]
I'd say Team 7 too, but only Naruto and Sasuke are the shiny ones.
[but Sakura should know Ino thinks the person beside her is the shiniest of them all]
no subject
Ha! If I'm not one of the shiny ones, then you definitely aren't.
[ except, you know, sakura loves ino best out of everyone.
after a small pause, she points at another constellation, this time on ino's side of the sky. ] What about that one?

[her hair is
Ino sort of likes this new rivalry they picked up, the teasing but not seriously viscious like they had been when it was about Sasuke. When Ino forced herself to forget everything she liked Sakura, every memory or laugh or smile Sakura gave her so she could only see her as someone getting in her way.
now they were lying together in the grass looking at stars. Ino couldn't forget Sakura as well as Naruto could forget about ramen or Chouji about food or Shikamaru about cloud watching or Asume-sensei about smoking or Sasuke about Itachi. It was just a part of them now.]
That one? Mmmn, I don't know. It sort of looks like a flower. There's the stem.

Yeah, I can see it.
[ if someone had told twelve year old sakura that one day she'd be rivals with ino in a completely different way, she wouldn't have believed them. but she's glad that's what happened. she likes the teasing and the smart remarks between them. she likes having someone that's her rival and best friend, someone apart from her boys (who often get ridiculously wrapped up in each other) she can have all to herself.
she likes being able to think of flowers and not feel sad over a lost friendship. ]
It looks a little like a daisy.

Ino mainly just likes having Sakura as a positive light in her life again. What had her father said? He was proud of her feelings for her friends?
Positive love]
The daisy, huh? Do you remember any of your hanakotoba? Besides daffodils.
no subject
[ she takes too much pride in her brain and being able to memorize things to forget alksjdf ]
Daisies mean faith. [ she pauses, looking over at ino. ] What do you think it looks like?
no subject
and it wasn't ninjutsu or love so]I think a daisy is perfect.
We just need to come up with a story now. How about... the sun once gave a daisy to a shy, lonely star. In hopes that she would find courage from the sun's faith that it turn into the shiniest star in the sky.
How's that? Pretty good, right? I have to admit, I'm much better with flower stories rather than stars though.

I think it's a great story. They should write it down with all the other constellation stories.
no subject
They could. Or we could just keep it between you and me.

[ sometimes she thinks she wants to tell people just how special ino is to her. but she can never find a good way to say it. ]
It's a pretty big deal.

Sakura...
[She sits up and looks down, spotting the seal that looks like her own star on that wide forehead.]
Maybe to the star. [She prods the Yin seal playfully.] The sun just wanted to cheer the star up and show it could be as shiny as it wanted to be. It could even be the North Star, if it wanted.
[Leading them all.]
