You took them for granted, that's a fact. Maybe you were cruel, maybe you didn't notice them, or maybe you just didn't tell them how you really felt...or you didn't get the chance. You couldn't get yourself in line and you were stupid before and didn't realize what you felt for them. And now, they've moved on (or so it seems). You haven't. You feel like you lost your shot. It could be far, far too late for anyone!

You're faced with them once more. You've gotten one more chance. You've used it, too - you've just confessed flat out! It came out of your lips with no provocation. So what do you do now? Follow it up with more blabbering confessions? Try to be smooth and win them over? Apologize? Hug and kiss them...or steal them away?

What's more important, though, is how they respond.

"I haven't heard of this movie. It's not in the papers."

Which means it hasn't come out recently.

"When do you think I'll be able to watch it?" The question is asked with some hesitance. There's a suggestion in his tone that says he can't come to the bunker for that, right? He's not welcome there.

"Whenever you get another night off. We can, uh, get a room or something and rent them from RedBox," Dean suggests, not missing that hesitance at all. He knows what's that about, and it causes guilt to shoot through him. "And you haven't heard of it 'cause it's old. Well, the first three are old. The newest three...not so old, but totally not worth your time."

"I'd enjoy that." Seeing old movies might be nice. Maybe they'll suit him better, since he doesn't always feel like he belongs here. Of course, science-fiction won't really make him feel like he belongs, either, but he'll probably enjoy them. Dean's enthusiasm will help.

"Cool. Then we'll do that," Dean says, and it's like they're planning on this whole life now they're not even sure they'll have--a fair, now movies--it's scary as hell, but still pretty tempting. He squeezes Castiel's hand, then glances around to see if they are alone before tugging the other man closer.

"C'mere."

It's nice to have something to look forward to, even if it isn't realistic to plan ahead.

Castiel notices the glance and does the same, wondering what they're looking for, but he doesn't mistake Dean's intention this time. The angel's lips quirk into a smile and he steps closer.

"Personal space." The memory amuses him briefly. He remembers how Dean used to lean back in discomfort over Catiel's proximity.

"You gonna complain about it and make me stop?" Dean snorts as he turns to face him, free hand coming up to curl around the back of his neck, pulling him in for another kiss, this one firmer and more certain.

Castiel leans in for the kiss. He steps in closer until his hands can rest on Dean's hips and he can gently tug the other's body against his. It felt good, a light press, just enough to be felt, but with the safety and burden of clothing to keep things slow.

No, it didn't look like he was going to tell Dean to stop. Even when there was a little pause for breath, he went back for more, enjoying the particular taste of Dean's lips compared to anyone else's.

Even if the kiss is slow, there's something burning that Dean knows is more than just the glow from the wine and good food. It's something hot that wants more, and Dean gives in a bit, tilting his head and parting his lips a little. His tongue slips out and presses against the seam of Castiel's mouth, seeking entry silently.

Castiel feels the gentle brush of Dean's tongue and happily obliges. His lips part a little, just enough for Dean to go further if he wants to. He tilts his head as well to seal their mouths together even more effectively. The former angel liked this feeling. This closeness and contact with Dean... even more than he thought he would.

He can't help a little groan when he feels Castiel's lips open, tongue surging forward. He can taste the dessert and wine still lingering there, and something else that must be the ex-angel himself. It is a nice taste, he decides as his fingers thread through dark hair, letting himself just get lost in all of it for the moment.

Castiel sinks a little closer to Dean, pressing himself against his friend. A soft moan also escapes the ex-angel when Dean's tongue slips into his mouth. Equally, he enjoys the taste of Dean's mouth, his own tongue lightly brushing against the other's. It made a certain heat move through him that was entirely pleasant.

Castiel wasn't alone in feeling that heat. It curls in Dean's stomach in a way that it hadn't in...too damn long. His arm slides around Castiel's shoulders when the other man leans into him, another low, pleased noise rumbling through him.

It takes a lot of effort for him to break the kiss, but the need to breathe wins through and he pulls back with a gasp.

"Damn, Cas..."

When the kiss breaks, Castiel sighs in a pleased way.

"That was good?" He thinks it was good, but he hopes it was just as good for Dean. As for Castiel, he feels a little breathless. That probably comes from not breathing for awhile because of the kiss, but he also knows it's due to Dean's skills.

"I feel a little light-headed."

"Damn straight that was good," Dean breathes, then he's grinning broadly at him, not pulling too far away from him for the moment. "Just wait and see how light headed you get with the rest of it."

Even if Dean's never fully considered how the rest of it will go with another man, for some reason he's pretty okay with it if that man is Castiel. His free hand comes up to run his thumb along Castiel's lower lip. "You're making it pretty damn tough to stick to the first date rule, FYI."

"The rest of it?" Castiel wondered when that would be.

The touch against his lips made Cas smile, his blue eyes staring intensely at Dean. There was something that was undoubtedly desire there. The ex-angel always wore his emotions plainly on his face, and that kiss was hard to just forget about.

"Well," his voice was a deep rumble, "we've never been the type to strictly observe rules."

Dean would have to be blind not to see that. And now he knows about it, he wonders how he missed just how intense their staring contests have been in the past. Poor Sam, having to put up with their UST all this time.

His thumb presses against his lip a little harder at that deep rumble, then traces to the corner of his mouth before pulling away.

"Yeah. We haven't. We'll have to find some place else, though. Sorry, but I don't really wanna sleep with you here in the park or the back of the Gas'n'Sip."

Castiel misses that pressure as soon as it's gone. The remark makes him smile, definitely amused. He supposes the back of the gas station wouldn't exactly set the mood. He wasn't even entirely sure what the mood should be. This wasn't just any person in front of him. It was Dean.

"There's a motel near here. We could go there."

Dean's mouth curves upwards in a mirror of Castiel's smile, unable to help himself. But his suggestion has him pausing and he looks thoughtful for a moment before shaking his head.

"Anyplace a little...nicer than a motel? I mean. Nicer than what we usually go for."

"Nicer?"

That's a surprise, but the angel can't help but appreciate the thought.

"If we go that way, there are some nicer places downtown."

"Guess we should go that way, then," Dean chuckles, although he can't stop himself from leaning in again once more, wanting to claim a kiss. Hey, who can blame him? Castiel's got surprisingly soft lips...although they're going to have to have a conversation about chaptick sometime soon.

Castiel returns the kiss, then takes Dean's hand and gives it a firm tug. If they're going to the hotel he wants to go before Dean changes his mind. It's going to be a brisk walk through the rest of the park!

Dean's still grinning as he's dragged behind Castiel through the now dark park. Not like he's going to get that time to change his mind, it seems.

"Dude, seems like you're pretty eager about this," he points out as he catches up in step with him, although he continues to hang onto the former angel's hand. "Been wanting this a while or something, Cas?"

They reach the main road and he looks to the right, spotting one of the nicer hotels.

"Maybe." The ex-angel looks over at Dean with consideration. Maybe he did.

Dean's eyebrows flew up at the admittance, even as he makes his way towards the hotel, clinging to Castiel's hand stubbornly--people staring be damned.

"Wait...seriously?"

"I don't know. I just.. know how much you always meant to me."

At least the hotel isn't far.
