THE AMNESIA MEME

Ah, amnesia. The old standby for soap operas, it usually involves a good knock on the head and a complete loss of memory. Ever wanted to do that to your character? Well, now's your chance.

1. Comment with your characters!
2. Others comment. Optionally, go to RNG and roll the scenario. (As to who gets knocked on the head, well, that's up to you!)

4. PROFIT.

1. HEAD-ON COLLISION - ...whoops. It was an honest mistake, really! You didn't see that car/tree/post/person/whatever coming, but now you're stumbling out of the wreckage sans memory. Better ask for help.

2. WAIT, WHO ARE YOU? - Okay, so a while ago, you got into...something that caused you to lose your memory. Fortunately, you managed to get by and create a new identity for yourself. Unfortunately, someone new has just entered your life. Or should I say, someone who's a little too familiar...

3. RINSE AND REPEAT - Sigh. Really, this is just so inconvenient. You wake up everyday with no memory of who you are, and have to figure it out over the course of the day, only to fall asleep and have to do it all over again the next day. Good thing someone's there to help you out, right? And what's with all those post-its and notes?

4. THIS ROOM'S TOO WHITE - Welcome to the hospital. You've got an "Unknown" tag on your wrist, a healthy diet of bland hospital food, a steady trickle of doctors coming in to check up on you, and a TV, and nothing else. Looks like someone's coming to help you today, though! Here's to hoping they knew you before you lost your memory.

5. I'M SUPPOSED TO DO WHAT?! - Oh, crap. There's something only you can do right now--that is, the you who didn't lose your memory, anyway. Better figure out a way out of this mess and how to control your strange abilities before it's too late.

6. FIGHTING FOR THE WRONG SIDE - Uh, oh. Looks like your enemies decided to take advantage of your confused state and convinced you that you're on their side. Here's to hoping your allies can get you back to yourself before you cause some serious damage.

7. JUST TOO TRAUMATIC - You just saw something that's so traumatic you lost your memory because of it. Unfortunately, right now, you have to remember it, or else something really bad happens. Hope you don't regret remembering this!

8. I DON'T WANT THIS - You've been living a peaceful, ordinary life, for a while. And you'd rather it stay that way, because you're not sure if you'd want to remember what went before. Unfortunately, something's coming, and the key to stopping it lies in your memories.

9. NO SUCH THING - Maybe you were a wizard, or a werewolf, or an angel, or a demon, or something else entirely before, or maybe you just knew about the masquerade. Sadly, you've been knocked on the head and now believe yourself to be a perfectly ordinary person. Magic? That doesn't exist, right? Anything can be explained with science, after all! Right?

10. I'M WHO?! - And who the hell are you? Basically, this is the wild card option! Combine one of the above or make up a new one or whatever you want! Go wild!

"We were very happy. Have since the day we met." He chuckled watching Charlie and Bailey.

"I can tell we were just by looking at you. Your eyes give it away." she smiled, leaning over and scratching Bailey's back. She was already comfortable around him and while she didn't remember him or them, she felt like she knew him. "How did we meet?" she asked, so comfortable that she didn't even think about it when she started changing clothes.

He watched her a moment but out of respect he looked away. He smiled softly. "We met at a bar you used to work at. Your friends uh dared you to come over and kiss me. So you did."

She changed into her pajamas while she listened to him, laughing softly. "And you didn't think I was crazy?" she asked, wishing she could remember that.

Catching sight of his left hand, she noticed the wedding band on his finger and reached for his hand, pulling it closer, sliding her finger across the cool metal. "Do you know what happened to mine?"

"I have it, it was all we found with your purse." He smiled and looked down at her hand in his.

She didn't ask for her ring back yet. She wanted to remember everything and then let him put it back on her. "They took it off of me and left it?" she sighed, "Why would they take me? It doesn't make any sense."

"They are people I pissed off during the course of my work. I'm sorry they did this to you because of me." He shook his head.

[sammmy]

With her hand still in his, she stood up and squeezed his tight. "It had to have been hard on you. I'm sorry they did this to you." She really didn't have it that bad because she couldn't remember anything. "Is anything gonna happen to them?"

"I'm sure your brother will have words." Jack looked up meeting her eyes.

"If he's as mouthy as I am." she smiled, never losing any of what made Sam...Sam. She looked into his eyes and wished so hard she could remember something, not just tiny bits and pieces. "I wish I could remember us." she told him and she meant it. She couldn't wait to get those drugs out of her system.

He smiled gently and stroked her cheek. "I could make some calls, try to flush it out faster if you'd like."

"Would it help?" she asked, leaning against his touch and closing her eyes. She always had visions of somebody touching her cheek softly like that.

"It should help." He smiled and continued stroking her cheek.

[sammmy]

"Then let's do that." She was impatient and wanted to remember it all.

"I'll make a call." He tentatively wrapped his arms around her holding her close a moment.

[sammmy]

She hadn't expected that but she quickly warmed up to it, hesitating a moment before resting her head against his chest. "You'll have to keep telling me stuff until I remember."

"This is your favorite way to rest against me. Even when laying down. You said you like hearing the beat of my heart." He smiled gently.

[sammmy]

"Mmm...it does feel nice." she said softly, nuzzling against him and yawning. "Do I ever wear your shirts? I kept seeing myself in somebody's big t-shirts."

"All the time. You look hot in them." He smiled gently rubbing her back tenderly. "Tired?"

[sammmy]

She smiled against his chest, not surprised that he liked that. "Yeah, it's been a long day. I've been up since five."

"Here I'll set the bed up for you." He smiled kissing the top of her head.

[sammmy]

She reluctantly pulled away from him, he was warm and it just felt right. "Where are you sleeping?"

Jack wanted to lay with her but knew to her right now he was a stranger. He smiled. "I can sleep on the couch."

In a matter of hours her entire world had been turned upside down. She was glad to see her real life was much better than the life she'd had the last six months. She was still trying to take it all in and the last thing she wanted was being in their bedroom alone. "Will you stay in here?"

"Of course if you want me too Sweetheart." He stroked her cheek again smiling. "You might not remember it yet, but I love you."
