Flowers, in the Victorian Era (1837-1901), were often used as means of communication when people could not openly say things that we do these days. Think about someone who is naturally repressed; now imagine a whole society focusing on being repressed. You can see why lovers needed some sort of secret code. Poor things.
No longer used much, there are some remaining, well-known meanings—roses inspiring passion and love are a classic example. So, grab a bouquet and give it to someone special. Beware of what certain flowers could say, though. Not all flowers were used happily.

Jane doesn't really press about that much. She figures if he wants to chit chat more about it, he'll tell her. In the meantime, she does her best to help him adjust and keep that new taste for coffee sated.

I keep getting really close? [ She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and smiles. ] So there's that. I mean, when you came, it just showed I was right. I just...need to figure out the science behind it, what makes it tick, what am I doing wrong that makes my attempts fail.

It may be that you need to search beyond the science.
[At least, beyond the science of the humans. That may be a lot to ask, since there is so much they still cannot comprehend about the universe. Thor knows how to move through realms. However, he won't claim that there isn't another way. And if he can help her find it, then all the better.]

[ She's getting the feeling that's what she needs to be doing, but she just isn't sure how to go about doing that. She's been raised and schooled and taught most of her adolescence and adult life that science is fact and anything without a whole lot of theories and evidence backing it up is mumbo jumbo.
But see -- Jane's got a wide open mind, too. She'd have to be, to be out in the middle of nowhere chasing storms and running over strange, handsome men with her van. ]
