The Mistletoe Meme
Oh no, mistletoe!
SHOOT. Who put that there?! Well, you’re caught - pucker up!
How to Play
- Post your character and canon in the subject line
- Next person who responds is the one you’re caught under the mistletoe with!
- Go as awkward, sweet, or embarrassing as you like! (Quick cheek peck? Full French? Sure! But you have to kiss or the Nargles will get you!)
- Comment, Tag, and catch others under the mistletoe. Have fun!
Oh, are you sick? I hope you get better, then. *internet hugs*
[Tony likes the idea of kissing Steve. It doesn't seem fair, though, that Steve had only one real, good kiss beforehand. He's Steve Rogers, Nicest Guy In The Universe. He deserves better than a kiss from Tony Stark, Snarkiest Genius In The Universe. And more importantly, it might make things more awkward between them than he wants - he likes their easy friendship, the way they've gotten to a point where they're relaxed around each other and hang out despite their differences. He doesn't want to wreck that.
But Steve didn't need or deserve rejection, either. Maybe that's just an excuse to justify what he wants to do. Tony's not sure. He moves closer to Steve, looking at him to see if he was invading his personal space.]
*internet hugs* I'm fighting off something but slowly getting better
[Short, skinny, sickly and obviously not the best choice for a girl to go out with, especially if Bucky was anywhere nearby. When suddenly people started noticing him after the serum, Steve had been level headed enough to know why he was suddenly popular even if he occasionally had been ambushed by overeager fans.
There's a part of Steve that just wants to lean in and kiss Tony before his friend starts over analyzing everything and thinks up a dozen excuses why they shouldn't kiss. But he can't help wondering if maybe Tony's reluctant because he really doesn't want to. But uncertainty never seems to work out for Steve. One kiss can't ruin things after everything the two of them have been through.]
This doesn't have to mean anything if you don't want it to. [His heart's racing like it had the first time he'd jumped out of an airplane, the same sense of crazy anticipation steadying his jitters. Leaning in close, he makes sure to give Tony a chance to move if he wants, half expecting his friend to take a step back or turn away.]

[Tony leans up to meet him, and wraps his arms around Steve's neck.] ...I want it to, [he says softly, and presses his lips to Steve's. He shuts his eyes so he doesn't have to see if Steve doesn't like it. Tony's certainly surprised by how much he likes it himself, even if it feels like one of the biggest risks he's ever taken. The contact sends a jolt of excitement through him, makes him smile instantly.]

[Adorable isn't bad, is it? It didn't seem to be if Tony would have been interested even if he was still the skinny artist Erskine had found. Grinning shyly at Tony, he doesn't know what his hands at first, then without thought he wraps his arms around his friend's waist when Tony kisses him.
It's probably clumsy and he really doesn't know how to kiss, but he's sure that Tony will forgive him for that. Especially if he likes it as much as Steve does. It is like that first jump except this time there's only happiness and hope that's causing him to grin brilliantly.]
It'd always matter to me, Tony, but I'm glad you like art geeks.

I didn't know any art geeks until I met you. Unless we're going to count my fractal art on the computer, at which point I become an art geek. But we're all very aware I like myself.
Now c'mon, I'll show you the hideously glorious 'Captain America' Christmas tree I bought online.
Tony is adorable in his /not blushing/
We're aware of it. [There's a hint of humor in his voice as he takes a small step away from Tony to give his friend space but not enough that Tony might think he's trying to get away.] I like you to so I guess it's okay.
[Then Steve realizes what else Tony had said. For a moment, he's frozen, thinking of the embarrassing wave of Cap memorabilia that had been released when the reporters had realized that Captain America was alive.]
The what? Why did you buy a Christmas tree with me on it?
They're both pretty adorable at this point.
And then Tony smirks, taking Steve's hands and guiding him down a hall.]
Fury and I were talking. He said he might have you work through Christmas. So I thought if you weren't here for Christmas shenanigans in person, I could leave it up near your room and just let you come across it and behold it's wonder and glory.
It plays The Star Spangled Man if you press a button by the bottom of the tree, and the little you on top spins.
