i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it
ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - You know what. You're a rebel. You don't need cover. Screw convention
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it
iii WHY:
001 REJECTED - Welp. Rejection sucks. And no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - For the bus? For someone else? For some revelation? What are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - Sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - Is everything going your way? Are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? Just singin. Singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO RAIN.
006 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.

"The floor in the hall is wet from all those who come in. The dust from your boots would create a thin layer of mud, which would be troublesome for the servants to clean, where as they only need let the water dry."

Boots in one hand and the cleaning cloth in the other, he finally said, lips twitching in bemusement, "Blessèd am I indeed, to have a wife so very tuned to even the slightest detail for the safety and care of my people."
no subject
"They are my people now as well, are they not?"
no subject
"They are, indeed. And quite proud to have such a Queen." Not merely a stifle to calm her worries; the Rohirrim were hardly folk to speak on their emotions, but the general consensus Éomer had received was positive, as well as thankful, to have both King and Queen gracing Meduseld again.
Still looking at her, Éomer's brow suddenly furrowed and he nodded once, decisively. "On the morrow, when the skies clear, we shall fit you with a mount. I should have done so earlier, but other duties diverted my attention."

"I should like that a great deal, and will do all I can to please our people." Really, she would do anything asked of her. Her devotion to this land and the people within it did not end with helping to fetch the laundry as a storm rolled in.

Done finally, he held out an arm to his Queen. "Shall we, then?" A small twinkle lit in hazel eyes. "Our devoted subjects are no doubt wondering at our dallying."

It was the sudden quiet that woke him, ironically enough. Meduseld had been lulled to slumber by the pounding rain and rolling thunder; its absence was strange indeed. Éomer blinked awake, still groggy, and realized that after the rain had come the cold, and the bedchamber was definitely chilly. The fire had burned down to embers, glowing deep orange in the darkness.
After a bit of finagling, in effort to keep from waking his sleeping wife, Éomer managed to slip out from beneath the covers, shivering a bit at the air's bite, and got up to stoke the fire, thankful it caught quickly. He wasted no time at all returning to bed, settling into his former place at Lothíriel's back, again gathering his wife in his arms.

"It is not morning yet? Surely?" Her voice was a bit hoarse and her eyelids still shut, but from the darkness she could discern that the land was still under the blanket of night.

It wouldn't surprise him if it decided to rain all today, as well. It was the season for it, and Rohan's weather had never been predictable, fickle thing that it was.
"I simply stirred the fire, love. Go back to sleep."
no subject
"Sleep. Mmm."
no subject
"Aye," he half-rumbled, half-whispered. "Mayhap the following day, or the next after." Provided the storm blew itself out by then. He threaded his fingers with hers, tucking her more snugly into the curve of his body, relishing their combined warmth.

Until she kicked Éomer's leg in her sleep. It wasn't her fault; she was dreaming.

Rather than take the chance of any further mauling, Éomer gently shook his sleeping wife's shoulder, calling to her quietly. "Lothíriel... come, wife, wake up."
no subject
"What? What is it?"

"I kicked you," she repeated, trying to make sense of it all. Rubbing at her eye, she slowly began to understand.
"Oh. Oh, dearest. I am sorry."
no subject
"Who were you brangling with, I wonder?" An eyebrow cocked up. "Orcs, goblins? The infernal laundry?" Yes, he was teasing.
no subject
"Perhaps I was dreaming of you saying something thoughtless and I kicked you in response." Two could play this game.

"Or you could mind your words, my love."

But somehow, he simply couldn't muster the will to move. It was so tempting, to let the rain lull him back to sleep, save for his probably-brooding wife on the other side of the bed. Again, Éomer sighed.
no subject
"Why do you sigh?" she asked gently.
