❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧ - from krystaliske @ memebells

That's because it just doesn't get cooler than Dave Fucking Strider. All that out there, that's Mother Nature overclocking it to try to match this ice cold I done already brought.

[He shifts some and some clothes go tumbling off blanket mountain. The angle's changed just enough that he can tuck her comfortably under his wing. He's always surprisingly warm, like a baby animal.]

[greenshift]

[ She laughs, settling her head back down ]

Yup, that is definitely why it's snowing so hard tonight.

[ She shifts too, moving much closer to take advantage of his body heat and also contribute hers. ]

For such a cool guy, you're pretty warm.

[crowsicle]

[He's quiet for a little while, considering.]

Hey. You know science shit, right? [He nods at his pile.] Want to help construct a less shitty nest for both of us?

[greenshift]

[ Is that really scientific? But her lips tug into a smile and she nods, sitting up straighter and starting to pick apart the pile. ]

I know science shit and I've built a next before. Well, sort of!

[crowsicle]

[He wiggles out from the cocoon and immediately puffs his feathers up, jamming his hands in his armpits. Hurry, Jade, or he'll freeeeeeeeeeeze.]

[ She is too nice of a friend to roll her eyes at that, but really? But instead she pulls out wadded up bundles of blankets and clothes, rearranging them so as to better cover the both of them. ]

For a baby bird! There was one that got lost and I took care of it for a little while.

Shhh it's okay

[crowsicle]

Huh.

[Davesprite shifts to tug a blanket he was sitting on up around his wings and shoulders, then falls sideways to land in Jade's lap.]

Peep peep, feed me.

[greenshift]

[ She drops the blanket she'd been holding onto his chest before flicking his cheek. ]

I said a baby bird, and you are not quite the same thing.

[crowsicle]

[He snorts at the cheek-flick but refuses to be moved. He's warm now.]

You'd feed some feather duster you didn't even know but you won't feed me? I think I'm hurt, I don't think there's any recovering from this massive wound you just inflicted on my tangerine heart. Was he fluffier than me, is that it?

[greenshift]

Yes, that's exactly it. He was fluffier and a lot cuter than you are!

[ She moves her hand so that it sits around his shoulder, fingertips playing with the feathers around his neck. ]

[crowsicle]

Whoops, that's it, I'm dead. That freezer burn was so cold I just keeled over and died like the little matchstick girl.

[He closes his eyes (if that's even visible behind his shades) but doesn't otherwise aid his case for corpsehood.]

[greenshift]

[ She laughs, picking up some discarded blanket or other and dropping that one right over his face. ]

[crowsicle]

[He tugs it down so he can breathe, then scoots back a bit so he can fold one wing around her back for warmth.]

How's that? Better?

[greenshift]

[ She leans forward, a little, to allow space for his wing. ]

Yeah, that's a lot better! Are you still freezing, Mr Cool?

[crowsicle]

Think I've leveled down from ice dispenser to refrigerator. The fruit crisper drawer or something, so I stay fresh.

[He reaches up to brush some of her hair back behind her shoulder. What? Okay, yeah, it's corny, but her hair's so long. It's kind of fascinating. He covers up how corny it is with his usual face.]

[greenshift]

[ No, there is no covering up how corny that was. But she realizes that maybe all of her hair everywhere falling onto his face is probably less than comfortable, so she pulls it all back over other shoulder. ]

See, I told you it's warm inside.

[crowsicle]

I could still stand a couple active volcanoes in here if you've got any more of those in stock.

[Damn. It may be freezing, but he is pretty much living the dream here.]

[greenshift]

[ She rolls her eyes playfully. ]

I don't think one would fit in here, even if I did have any in stock.

[crowsicle]

Why not like, a bonsai volcano? It'd be just like taking care of your pumpkins, except you know about two hundred percent cooler.

[He links his hands behind his head, clearly making himself comfortable where he is.]
