[Everything about Sheik was shrouded in mystery, but apparently he was special enough to need a bodyguard. It really wasn't anything that struck anyone as special about the young man. Perhaps his red eyes or the fact that he hid most of his face, but nothing that really made a lasting impression. And yet they had been attacked more then once during their journey. The last attack just the other day which had forced them to pick up the pace drastically. Open fields gave little protection and they needed to reach a safer area.]

[ it's an unconventional sort of setup. Then again, it's an unconventional sort of situation, and if there's anything you learn in his particular line of work it's how to adapt to suit your changing circumstances. So, the set up is unconventional, and long may it stay that way.

Far too many agents have a record, a rather impressively large rank of hangers-on out for their heads. No, if this job is to be done with any degree of success, the tact is to have to be altered, if only ever so slightly.
Ex-military, they're informed, informant's name swiped utterly and untraceably from the record without any attempted subtlety (an act which within itself works as signature). Of respectable rank, respectable career. A more than capable man, a skilled doctor, a revered soldier and on top of that - they're expressly assured - To Be Trusted. So it is that an old ship's young Quartermaster finds himself on the doorstep of a stranger, armed with name and a mission file tucked discreetly into the satchel hanging at his hip. mission: try not to look too much like an eager journalist fishing for stories on the doorstep of a relatively recently bereaved talk-of-the-city... possibly not entirely a success, by merit of hindsight. Ah well. Very little to be done about it now.

Odin had given him stipulations after days of work, weeks of delay. Loki could go, but Merrick would be his guard. Odin intended it to be as a warden.

He arrived at Loki's cell in his formal whites, swathes of fabric like silks that gave him plenty of room for movement, sturdy boots, buckled gloves that reached nearly to his elbow, a sword at either side. And while he attempted to look serious, a smile still tugged at his lips.
"Loki, of Asgard," he began, speaking the language of his birth, thankfully translated by the Alltongue, his voice serious despite the gladness in his heart. "You have been granted into the keeping of the Kingdom of Animaria. Of Earth."
