THE SNOW DAY MEME



Looks like the weather forecast was right; it's absolutely freezing! Not only that, but your town/city/jamjar/wherever is knee-deep in snow. Schools are shut, roads are backed up for miles and the general quiet chaos of a snow day has taken over.

But forget those negative nellies! Just post a comment with your series name and character name as usual, as well as any other notes you wish to add, then pick a prompt using the RNG and get started!


1. OMG SNOW!!!

Snow is just the BEST THING EVER, RIGHT?! Well, that's what you think and you're determined to have a good time with snowball fights, snowmen, snow forts and every other conceivable kind of snow-related activity with your friends... even if they don't really want to join in.

2. FUCK YOU, SNOW.

Oh god, it's snowing. This just completely ruins your day. Maybe you were planning to go shopping but the roads are still blocked up, or because the school closed, you need to hire a last minute babysitter for your kids. Whatever the reason for it, you're not pleased about this snow and you don't care what anyone else thinks.

3. SNOW SIEGE

Oh lord, it looks like you're stuck inside. With the amount of snow at your door, you can't open it! Will you make a daring escape out the window or will you just give up and watch TV? But what if you run out of snacks? Or the TV reception dies?!

4. BUSINESS BEFORE PLEASURE

With all this snow around, people's drives and lawns are completely blocked up. Why not take the opportunity to make a quick buck and clean their front gardens for them? If you team up with your friends, you can become a snow-clearing machine and make massive profits!

5. A WALK IN THE SNOW

Nothing like the sound of freshly fallen snow crunching away under your shoes, right? You don't really care either way about the chaos and even though it's chilly, the one thing you want to do today is head out for a walk in the snow and maybe grab a hot chocolate on the way back.

[She shakes her head.] Don't be. I don't... really remember them. So it's not the worst thing that could've happened, and I could be a lot worse off than I am now. I won't let something unpleasant get me down.

[waddling]

((A cheery disposition returns to him.)) Ahhh, Mirai-chan says it's convenient, but I still think you're very brave about it all. A lot of people would just quit at this point, I think.

Is it hard living alone, then?

[unpleasingly]

[ofc it does. What is it with him and calling her brave?] It's not like I have any other option.

Mm... kinda. Finding enough money can be a struggle at times. Why are you so interested in it, anyway?

[waddling]

That's a silly question. ((He smiles amiably.)) Because I want to get to know you, Mirai-chan!

[unpleasingly]

Wh-- [Okay, that was honestly a little unexpected.] Why me of all people?

[waddling]

Uh, ((he's just a little embarrassed by her response,)) Because you seem like a really nice person to know, of course. And I'd like to be your friend!

You're unpleasant! [Not really, just making her very flustered!!!] You shouldn't try and get to know me! I'm not as nice as you think.

[waddling]

Ahh, then I bet you're even nicer than I think, huhhh?? ((Translation: he don't believe that for a second.))

[unpleasingly]

You hardly know me at all, don't involve yourself with me! [And she, quite defiantly, picks up her pace to walk away from him.]

[waddling]

((Picking up his pace too, he looks rather distressed as he follows her.))

Ahh, you can't just sell yourself short so quickly!!

I can say whatever I want! Including that you're unpleasant to be around! [She huffs again and turns away.]

[waddling]

Hnk!! ((RIGHT IN THE KOKORO.)) You can't sell me short so quickly, either!!!

Yes I can! You're really unpleasant!

[waddling]

((MORE PAIN. Except not really, kind of more like when Rei turned him down a million times. He whirls around Mirai and stands in front of her so she can't escape.))

Can I at least prove myself? What if I took you out to lunch? There's a great place just down the street from here, and then you can say if I'm still unpleasant or not!

[unpleasingly]

(OH WELL if food is involved, that's totally cool with her. BUT NO, SHE MUST KEEP UP APPEARANCES.] I'm already going grocery shopping, so lunch isn't necessary.

(SIGHS but it's fake.) If you insist.

[waddling]

((Can you see the shonen sparkles flying around his head?)) Here, c'mon! It's just this way!

((Without concept of personal space, he takes her at the sleeve of her coat and urges her to follow him. It really isn't that far away, so he'll probably successfully get her the most of the way.))

I hope you don't mind cafe food? ((opening the door for her.))

(Wow, she thought only senpai got sparkles like those-- and now she's apparently being dragged along sdkjgbjrg. DAMMIT NAGISA. She walks in, glancing around the room as she inhales every scent.) It's okay with me.

[waddling]

((He's still kind of sparkling, he's really happy he managed to get Mirai to come with him. Maybe blushing a little, too. Like he's really happy.

He stoops over a bit, covertly checking his wallet.))

Uh, what do you want? I can go get it for you while you pick a table.

[unpleasingly]

(Stop doing that cute thing, it's not fair. She proceeds to the display case of various cupcakes, cookies, danishes, croissants, and the like. It's hard to narrow it down to just one item until... she points to a perfectly frosted piece of cake dotted with strawberries.) I'll take that one.

[waddling]

Ahh, it looks so good! Okay, I'll meet you in a minute!

((He shuffles into the line, standing with his hands protruding like he does as he waits.))

[unpleasingly]

All right. (In the meantime, Mirai heads over to a table, taking a seat by the window while she waits for her food. He's not as unpleasant as before, in her opinion, but that remains to be voiced.)

[waddling]

((In a minute Nagisa comes bouncing back to the table, and slides Mirai's cake to her.)) Here you go!! ((He slides also into his seat and--)) Oops!! I forgot the forks, sorry.

((He hurries back up, leaning over the display case and fanning down one of the cooks. A faint and joyous 'thank you' is heard when he receives them, and then bounces back, setting hers down near her and settling in.))

Enjoy your meal!! ((Said in broken English, he smiles.))

[unpleasingly]

(Considering this is Mirai, she would have been happy enough to eat it with her fingers. She wipes off a little drool as he runs back, and she's patient enough to wait for him to return.) Thank you for the food.

(And she digs in with a special little joyous sparkle in her eye.) It's so good!

[waddling]

Ahh, this place always makes the best cakes, I'm not surprised. ((He smiles as he watches.

And he might just keep watching her and forget his meal which is kinda creepy but HE DOESN'T MEAN TO BE he's just giddy and not sure what to say for once.))

They really are! (She'd say more but. Inhaling food takes priority at the moment.

Once she's about halfway done with her cake, she finally notices Nagisa staring at her. To be honest, it is pretty weird, and a light flush comes over her cheeks as she swallows carefully.) Wh-what is it?
