You are now on a quest to be the very best trainer in all the land! In your own, special way. I mean, everyone has their own thing they seek in the Pokemon world, right? Some want to gather badges. Other people participate in contests! Still others decide to devote their life to research and becoming a Pokemon Professor.

OBLIGATORY OPTIONAL RNG OPTION even though I guess you can RNG the rest, huh?: Go to random.org and roll a number from 1-718. That is your Pokemon. (Which normally I wouldn't bother with adding...I mean, you probably have some ideas of what your character has caught and what they take into battle, right? But it could be worth some shits and a few giggles. According to this, I've got a Sunkern.)

Anyway.

1. You're in a Pokemon battle! Oh shit. Is it a friendly battle? Is it a heated match between destined rivals? Or are you just mugging some preschoolers for their lunch money?

2. Either 1 went pretty damn well and you're just chillaxing, or 1 went pretty damn poorly and you're recuperating and healing up, or maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say 1 because you didn't just fight a Pokemon battle. Regardless of the reasons, you are now at a Pokemon Center.

3. You are traveling on some route or another and enjoying the scenic vistas and the epic scenery of wherever you are. Or maybe you're getting ready to camp out for a while? Well. You're just stopping and smelling the metaphorical roses.

4. You are lost. So this is kind of like 3 except it's less enjoying the ride and more going oh fuck what is this this is a cave I wasn't supposed to go into a cave was I? I can't use surf how am I supposed to get through this lake crap.

5. You're participating in a contest! You're getting ready to, you're appealing, you're sabotaging your competition, whatever it takes to get that ribbon.

6. You are somehow involved with a Pokemon Daycare. Maybe your Pokemon is expecting? Maybe you've got this...this egg you gotta haul about until it hatches. Or maybe you don't have enough cash to get your beloved Rattata back so now you're mugging preschoolers for their lunch money. It's a very dark and dire business you're involved with.

What - ? [And then he sees the string.] A string...? What's that doing out here?

The assassin, Deadshot, got sent to Viridian City by the government, after they'd gotten word of some suspicious goings-on in the area--namely sudden disappearances of Pokemon. The bigwigs gave him the job, along with an explosive in his head and an offer to clean his record if and when he helped fix the problem.

Today seemed no different than the other days of that first week Floyd--or Honorary-Jenny, as the other gals in blue called him--had spent in Viridian City. An uneventful morning. Helped out some dumb, lost kids--that made Floyd real keen on punching out the folks that let their ten-year old go out on their own and fend for themself, but that wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Nothing else happened, as it usually did, so he wanted to end his afternoon patrol early and stop for a bite to eat at the local diner which, oddly, specialized in jelly doughnuts that looked like rice-balls...

Then, he spotted these two weirdos.

After cracking his knuckles, the hitman made his way over to the bunch and asked the gentleman, "That your real 'stache?"

[He decides to explore this new world a bit more, and checks out something called the Pokemon Daycare center. After getting a briefing on the place, he sees a trainer come in for his Pokemon, only to leave behind the egg that was found with the parents.

Francis dislikes this.

So now he has this egg and...well he's not too sure what to do with it. So he's just going to carry it around until he gets some idea.]

((Where better to stage this than just outside Petalburg City, where the ocean breeze pushed heavy across the fields and forest, and lakes were plenty. Today was a day of rest before Makoto made his third attempt at the local gym. He was a pretty terrible pokemon trainer, but he knew he needed at least a few badges to make it around the region. He just hated to make his pokemon fight...

At least, he a decent breeder. Under the shade of a tree now, he supports a pokemon egg in his lap and rests. His pokemon play in the nearby lake, presumably with Nitori's. No big deal, he kept inflatable toys around for them to goof around with. The guy's a mommy through and through.

He's been half asleep a while now, but with a slight movement and coo, he seems to be waking up.))

He keeps an eye on their surroundings as he talks, trying to figure out which way is out of this forest they've been for a while now.]

Pokemon battles aren't supposed to be that aggressive. You stop when their team has fainted.

While he was alright fighting a trainer every now and then, having to be chased through Eterna Forest regularly while he was working on his Murkrow was legit the most frustrating thing. His Absol wasn't the strongest either, but he had to have it out. Doom sensing and all that.

As he makes a charged run toward the nearest escape he can find, however, his own pokemon "turns against him" biting down on his shirt and he slips onto his face.)) OWCH!!
