Need a scenario?

1. PARTY!: You're throwing a wild party in your brand-new treehouse. Anything from a pizza party to a wild kegger.


2. SECRET CLUB!: You're having a secret meeting, and it's invitation only. You need to know the password to get in. No Homers Allowed. What sort of club is it? Or maybe you want to break in on someone else's meeting. It's not fair that they won't let you in!


3. INVASION!: Another treehouse group is plotting a takeover! You better defend yourselves, or get ready to take over that lousy club next door.


4. SLEEPOVER! Get into your sleeping bag, gather 'round a lantern to swap scary stories. Or maybe you want to cuddle up to that special someone on a cool fall night.


5. BUILDING! Your treehouse is still a work in progress. What are you adding to it? Maybe someone can come along to hinder help get it ready.


6. ALONE TIME! You're hiding in your treehouse, minding your own business and totally not reading dirty magazines, when someone crashes in on your fun.

[Gaius' tree house was...awkward looking, to be polite. He had acquired it through equally awkward methods. He didn't remember much, just that it involved a disenfranchised lordling, alcohol, sweets, some cards, and desperation. It had sounded amazing, but then he discovered that basically all he had won was a bunch of awkward looking trees and an awkward looking house awkwardly perched in one of them.

[Frederick was making his rounds on outpost duty when he came across the shanty looking tree house. When in the world did that appear there, and how did he not notice it before? In his paranoid mind of course, there were a lot of red flags going up in the safety issues this...thing opposed.

He approached the ladder and shook it a bit to see how sturdy it was. Negative. If there was an enemy in there, they were now trapped--since he yanked off the steps and set it down.]

Whoever you are, show yourself!

[Most people would expect Edgeworth to have some fancy European summer cottage as his getaway.

Most people underestimate the lengths Edgeworth will go to if he really wants to be alone. Official secondary residences can be tracked down easily; treehouses aren't quite so legally visible.

Should someone find it despite the scarcity of evidence that it exists, however, the treehouse far north of his jurisdiction stands out from its forested surroundings. While it's been stained rather than painted, it's too large and well-crafted, has retractable stairs driven by the crank with a hook next to the locked door at the top, there's a solar panel on the roof, and there are one-way glass windows, of all things.

Inside, the earmarks of it belonging to Edgeworth are obvious. There are burgundy curtains on the inside of the windows, and a burgundy couch near the center of the room to match which both acts as a three-seat recliner and can be converted into a bed. The bookshelves built into the back wall are packed with legal tomes, mystery fiction, and historical and fictional samurai books (naturally including Steel Samurai comics). Two desks are built into the walls on either side of the door; one obviously serves as the basis for a small office, while the other has a two-burner portable stove on top and a mini-fridge underneath. Indeed, the solar panel isn't just for show; other electric items in the room include a single small crystalline-looking light fixture at the very top and center of the room, a cellphone charger sitting in the office area, and a small TV with a DVD player. An extra-large water cooler decorated to look like the Steel Samurai sits next to the kitchen area, while a classy-looking wardrobe sits at the opposite side of the room, between one of the windows and the bookshelf-dominated back wall.]

[Phoenix is one of those people who would expect Edgeworth to have some fancy European summer cottage as his getaway.

He is also one of those people who aren't too well-versed with this part of the woods, and a tip-off from a possible witness for his next case told him that a dead body of a murdered woman had been buried somewhere here, only to be transferred later on. Unfortunately no clues turned up...well, anywhere, and now Phoenix was just trying to find his way out.

Oh, and did we mention he forgot his cell phone at his office?

But just before he could be convinced that his luck was running out, he notices something - and looks up at the huge treehouse that suddenly emerged into his field of vision. Phoenix stops in his tracks - then backs up a bit so he doesn't strain his neck gaping up at the sight. It was the sort of thing rich parents would give their rich kid for his birthday.]

[Cassandra frowned as she looked at the treehouse, taking a slow drag on her cigarette as she read back the report in her head. This seemed like a normal suburb, a nice idyllic bit of life in suburban ████████. Children and pets had been disappearing lately, and the investigation had nailed down the tree as the focal point.

She drops the cigarette and stamps it out before rubbing her temples. She's glad they got there when they did and secured the area, but as jaded as she is she still regrets not learning about this sooner. And they still need to figure out why the owners of the house never clued in to what was happening.]

███ kids missing. Jesus Christ.

[ Oh, hey Cassandra. There's a man in a dark trenchcoat stepping out from around the other side of the tree. The FBI, after all, takes missing children very seriously, especially when it keeps happening like this. He's not a smoker himself, but he does have a paper cup of coffee from the gas station down the road. He sips it pensively. ]

All the missing children are centered around this tree. And of course, the tree-house. At least as far as my partner and I have been able to tell.

[ He examines her for a moment. She doesn't look like a local. Too well dressed. Another agency, maybe. Or more FBI. ]

[It had taken all day. She was proud of it. She couldn't see why anyone else shouldn't be. The only problem was, it was only a quarter finished. Her treehouse had a ladder, and a base, but the rest was not so much in existence as she would have hoped. she had this grand plan of what it would look like, but she was only one small child, and while she was already rather strong and able to hold her own at this age, she still could only do so much.

Puffing out her cheeks in frustration, she glares at the work she's already done, trying to concentrate, but looking more like she was ready to blow a gasket instead.]

Left to his own devices, treehouse construction would probably have ranked on Haru's list of Things To Always Ignore In Favor Of Swimming. (It was a long list.) After all, if you were up in a tree, you were pretty much by definition not going to be in the water.

He was a supportive enough friend, though, that when Makoto agreed to take on this (possibly misguided) project to appease his younger siblings, Haru had said he would help. The job was probably going to take at least two sets of hands anyway, not to mention a load of tools that Haru had barely ever used before in his life. After all, the closest he came to having any construction experience was doing the repairs they'd all made to the school pool, and he was pretty sure that was true for Makoto too.

But here they were anyway. Day one: out in the woods behind Makoto's house where, as luck would have it, there is a close-growing trio of beech trees that can probably be made to work for their purposes. They've got plans that they downloaded off the internet, and a load of materials supplied by Makoto's parents. (Haru assumed that they appreciated any gesture that would result in the future entertainment and distraction of their two youngest.) So now all they had to do was to...build the treehouse.

Haru looked from the plans up to the beech trees and back again. "It says we have to start by bolting logs against the trunk to make a base for the platform," he pointed to the diagram. It showed a pair of logs with a semi-circle cut in the middle of each to make a contour for the tree trunk. These were held together with massive bolts, like a vise grip on each trunk, and then the slats of the platform would be laid as a frame on top of them.

Unfortunately, this sounded a lot easier than it looked like it would be in practice, and he glanced dubiously at the six logs that had been collected for this purpose. "How do we do it?"
